INTRODUCTION A consumer market consists of all individuals who buy goods and services for their consumption. Every marketer must know consumer behaviour patterns namely demographic details, cultural, social, economical factors, attributes which are influencing elements in the buying behaviour. The study entitled Consumer preference towards e-jobsites is also affected by these elements. Here I have planned a survey which is influenced by these factors and the aim is to find out the attributes which influence the customer preference most while they are surfing a e- jobsite. During the survey I am trying to study the consumer preference towards the different e- jobsites available for people. The study falls in the broad field Marketing and the broad area of study is Consumer Behaviour. The main aim of the study is consumer preference with regards to using e-jobsite. As this is a research study and is a part of our academic activities it comprises of defining and redefining problem, formulation of hypothesis, collecting ,organizing, and evaluating data, findings and suggestions and then reaching to a conclusion carefully testing the conclusions determined whether they match the formulated hypothesis or not. SCOPE OF THE STUDY The study would throws a light on the attitude, values, beliefs and preferenceof the consumers, situated at Rourkela regarding their use of e- jobsites which is making a cultural revolution not only in urban areas but also in rural areas. Though e-jobsites are not that popular in areas like Rourkela as in metros like Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai but still it is being used by students of different graduate colleges, management colleges, technical institues ant engineering colleges here in Rourkela. This project will be quite helpful in understanding the reasons which influence these people to visit or surf a specific e-jobsite. Aggressive advertising through TV channels and other newspapers is also making thes of e-jobsite more popular. The study would benefit the students and

other unemployed people and job seekers like working professionals a cursory knowledge of the consumer preferenceabout surfing e-jobsites.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY The main objectives of the research are: 1. To find out the factors (attributes) which influence the people most in using a e-jobsite. 2. To find out brand preference of e-jobsites by the people . 3. To know the satisfaction level of customers. 4. To determine the effectiveness of media on e-jobsites. HYPOTHESIS OF THE STUDY I have postulated a hypothesis before conducting the survey that: 1. Design of the e-jobsite has nothing to do with its use. 2. Television media is the most effective media to promote a service like ejobsite as students and working professionals watch television regularly on a daily basis. E-JOBSITES AND THEIR USE Todays world is the world of information technology and that through internet. E-jobsites are also a means to provide information about jobs and vacancies available in different organization where e stands for electronic means through internet that is through computers. E-jobsites are internet sites provided by different companies through which we can apply for vacant jobs by registering ourselves to these sites by filling up a registration form online. There are different e-jobsites available toady a list of these is as follows: Monster.com Naukri.com Freshers.com Jobsahead.com Jobstreet.com

NDtvjobs.com Timesjob.com

All these sites provide information about vacant jobs and when one is registered to these sites he gets a mail according to the information submitted by him when there is a vacancy somewhere. LITERATURE REVIEW Literature review is an important work before you go for a study. Here we try to find out the information already present befor conducting the research so as to gain some in-depth knowledge about the subject. Here I have also gone through different journals of marketing and research available in the library, magazines like business world and business today and also tried to gather information about e-jobsites. Though the topic given to me is an important topic but I could not find much information regarding the topic. Not much of research has been done in this field therefore I tried to collect information about the topic from faculties and friends.the general information I gathered is that e-jobsites are only used by students and working professionals only and it preference towards these has nothing to do with the design of the jobsite. MARKET RESEARCH Market research specifies the method for data collection, implements the data collection process, analyses results and communicates the findings and their implications. In market research the main work done is designing the research process which include planning the research programmes i.e. how to go about the research. I have also done a bit of planning and also implemented a part of the plan which are as follows: Problem definition The first step in marketing research process is to define the problem choosen for investigation. My problem here is to investigate about what are the factors which influence one to go for a particular e- jobsite in Rourkela and not only know the factors

which influence the behaviour of a consumer but also to track which are the major factors and which influences how much. Research Design And Methodology It is very important to decide the type of research design we are opting for because it is the basic framework which provides guidelines for the rest of the research process. It is the blue print according to which research design specifies the data collection methods and data analysis. There are basically three types of research design we can choose from, which are as follows: Exploratory research Descriptive research Causative research

All the three types of research design have their own importance but as descriptive research design is carried out to describe a phenomenon or market characteristic I have opted to go for a Descriptive Research Design as preference to choose a particular site is a phenomenon and is related to behavioural characteristics. Sample Design A sample design is the definite plan about respondents determined before any data are collected. Here the population is large in Rourkela and the population of persons surfing a jobsite is also quite large. So a sample size of 120 has been selected from various parts of Rourkela, which constitute students of colleges, working professionals and govt. employees. Research Instruments Research instruments or tools are mediums by which survey is done. The main instruments to be used in this research is Questionnaire. The questionnaire will be closeended and forced choice type. There is a set of 10 close-ended questions. Data Collection There are two methods of data collection, called: 1. Primary data

2. Secondary data Primary data collection consists of collecting data for the first time or means collecting data which do not exist. The researcher gathers primary data afresh for the specific study undertaken by him. Where as secondary data are those which have already been collected by someone else. The secondary data is collected from books, magazines, journals and internet. For this study I have collected data of both the types i.e. primary and secondary. For collecting primary data I have prepared a questionnaire and has started interviewing people. To gather secondary data I have gone through many marketing journals, books, and magazines. I have also surfed the net to gather secondary data on ejobsites, its market and to collect information about different e-jobsite providers. Data analysis and interpretation: In this study I will be using simple arithmetical calculations for data analysis and chi-square tables for hypothesis testing. LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY The study report finally prepared may not give the exact and true picture of the market to be surveyed because of the following limitations: 1. The sample size to be taken is only 120 respondents of Rourkela which may not give a clear picture. 2. Some respondents purposefully may not give the correct information. 3. There might be some sampling errors. 4. limitation of time was also a barrier for the study. 5. CONCLUSION The study entitled consumer preference towards e-jobsites is an interesting topic for a youth like me. I have taken every care to make this research effective. I have first tried to make a plan that will be effective to conduct the research. In this regard I have first gathered information about e-jobsite and its different service providers and its market nationwide. For this I have used the secondary data available in internet, books

and journals. After that I have formulated a hypothesis to test and also set the objectives of the study because without any objective a study is no more a study. Then I prepared a questionnaire to gather primary information from respondents of sample size 120. I have already started preparing the questionnaire and once it is formulated I will start collecting data from the respondents. I hope the study continues in the same way and it yields better results and the hypothesis formulated is true.
