Scope and Implementation Methodology

Scope of Work
Based on the previous correspondence and communication based on this project the following clearly states the scope of work according to Dover engineerings request. 1. Current Physical Network is to be replaces with a more reliable, resilient and efficient network that has full Gigabit capacity end to end. 2. Existing physical network will be decommissioned after the commissioning of the newly implemented network infrastructure 3. Cecila is expected to suggest and proposed the most reliable and effective design based on information previously made available by Dover Engineering on requirements. 4. Cecila will supply and install all the active and non active components required for the project such as Switches, Patch Panels etc . 5. Cecila will be responsible for ensuring that decommissioning of existing network is neatly done and fix all kinds of Damages to walls, ceilings and floors as the case may be.

Methodology
Going by the Proposed Design, this phase would ensure a coordinated approach to project planning which starts the implementation from areas that are less critical to areas of high criticality. This ensures that theres little or no interference with regular day to day activities on the network. When the areas are identified, they can further be classified according to their criticality and thence a clear implementation path is made available.

Planning and Design

Implementation and Testing

After critical areas are identified , then the implementation starts and a TQM approach is deployed during implementation. This is the first of the testing and quality assurance processes. A team of engineers are deployed for the cabling and termination while a second team is deployed alongside for quallity assurance and ensuring conformance to required standards. After completion, Further tests are then performed and results are provided to DOVER Engr.

Training & Maintenance

After Implementation , Warranties on specific supplied products are communicated and a minimal performance delivery on the network is further communicated. Celica will also be available for any maintenance and rework as a result of issues/concerns that relate to the items supplied.

t e Electronics and Telephone A network infrastructure ased on t e standards developed Industry Associations will meet asic network needs for many years into the future. The standards define the maximum length of the cable runs:
o o o o

meter maximum between network devices (i.e.. hub and computer) o more than 9 meters between wall jacks and cross connect equipment in wiring closet. o more than meters from the wall jack to the network device (computer, printer, etc.)

n While Ethernet can propagate over a distance greater than 9 meters, installi g cable with runs over 9 meters will not allow you to migrate to newer network protocols as they become cost effective. Anything installed using the EIA/TIA standards will remain compliant with any new network technologies

Cable Containment Approach The following Systems will be used throughout the project for Cable Containment

The following considerations and scenarios would be used to decide which system of cabl e containment to use.

The density and volume of cables to be organized The aesthetic appearance of the cabling within offices and other visible areas Proximity to power cables and other potential sources of interference Fire stopping

The cabling and its containment system will be clearly identified and their locations, routes and capabilities recorded in a cable administration system. This will invol ve a logical numbering scheme that will be applied to all cables, outlets, patch panels and even containment systems. Various color schemes will be used.

Phase 1: This Phase generally describes the conceptualization of an approach to the project that is consistent with the stipulated timeline and r esources proposed. It documents in details the current state of the environment and also expected state at completion. It then details the gap analysis and discusses in details the positive impact of the future state of the project . Phase 2: This phase is the detailed design of the administration, Organizational and application architecture. According to the project Charter, a part of this phase might be ongoing till the end of the project. This is the area of continuous reporting progress) and reportin g /documentation of technical and administrative constraints This is discussed and followed through in the communication plan for this project.

Phase 3: This is the Implementation phase and the basis for phases 1 and 2. This phase should be seamless, swift and with minimal constraint based on the detailed conceptualizations and scoping from phases 1 and 2. The integration proper will be performed here likewise decommissioning, testing and staff

training. Also support manuals will be provided as need be f or the installations that have been carried out. Phase 4: This phase will entail handing over of documents, commissioning, audit report preparation, acceptance testing, and project closure. Test Plan The following tests will be performed: y Connectivity to ALL data Points y Connectivity between the switches y Network Convergence on Layer 2 devices y Spanning Tree protocol effectiveness test All tests performed will be documented in form of snapshots if possible and will be part of acceptance criteria as well as handing over documentation.
