Moreover, there is no need to modify the original image to be protected, which providing an obvious advantage when the image itself does not give permission for alteration. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme is robust against many common image processing attacks, such as JPEG compression, noise addition, cropping, rotation, scaling . APPLICATION OF MODIFIED ADAPTIVE MEDIAN FILTER FOR IMPULSE NOISE

ABSTRACT In this paper, basing on the statistical features of the image, we propose a modified adaptive median filter (MAMF) for removal of impulse noise, especially for the high-density impulse noises. To avoid the shortcoming of the adaptive median filter (AMF) and the adaptive threshold median filter (ATMF), this method has been designed by combining the AMF with the Decision-Based Algorithm (DBA). From the result, the MAMF method is superior to the conventional methods in the impulse noise, especially for the intermediate-density and high-density noise, providing a quite stable performance over a wide variety of density of noise. Meanwhile, the downward tendency of the PNSR value of MAMF is gentler, with the higher quality than the DBA and the AMF. Tools Language Processor : Visual DSP++ :C : Black fin 531/532

COLOR IMAGE ENHANCEMENT WITH A HUMAN VISUAL SYSTEM BASED ADAPTIVE FILTER
ABSTRACT In this paper, considering the adaptive characteristics of human visual system, a new color image enhancement algorithm based on human visual system adaptive filter is proposed. The new algorithm is divided into three major parts: obtain luminance image and background image, adaptive adjustment and color restoration. Unlike traditional color image enhancement algorithms, the adaptive filter in the algorithm takes color information into consideration. The algorithm finds the importance of color information in color image enhancement and utilizes color space conversion to obtain a much better visibility. Experimental results show that the algorithm proposed has better effectiveness in reducing halo and color distortion. Tools Language Processor : Visual DSP++ :C : Black fin 531/532

K-Means algorithm is an unsupervised clustering algorithm that classifies the input data points into multiple classes based on their inherent distance from each other. Success of k-means color image segmentation depends on parameter k. If numbers of clusters are estimated correctly, k-means image segmentation can provide good results. This paper proposes a novel method based on edge detection to estimate number of clusters automatically. Edges are detected in terms of phase congruency. Short edges reflect the local character in image while long edges are more important to estimate number of clusters. The short edges are eliminated. Edge line clustering is used to group long edges based on color similarity. For grouping color similar edges average color of each edge is calculated. Euclidean distance on average color of each pair of edges is calculated. Long edges assigned same label if Euclidean distance on average color is less. We have estimated the number of clusters in image using edge line clustering. The number of edges left after edge line clustering is thought as number of clusters in image. This value is used as value of k for kmeans image segmentation. Tools Language Processor : Visual DSP++ :C : Black fin 531/532

HIGH CAPACITY IMAGE STEGANOGRAPHY IN WAVELET DOMAIN

ABSTRACT A new high capacity method for transform domain image steganography is introduced in this paper. The proposed steganography algorithm works on the wavelet transform coefficients of the original image to embed the secret data. As compared to current transform domain data hiding methods, this scheme can provide a larger capacity for data hiding without sacrificing the cover image quality. This is achieved through retaining integrity of the wavelet coefficients at high capacity embedding. This improvement to capacity-quality tradingoff interrelation is analyzed in detailed and experimentally illustrated in the paper. Tools Language Processor : Visual DSP++ :C : Black fin 531/532

IMAGE RETRIEVAL BASED ON THE COLOR-SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION FEATURE OF GENERALIZED IMAGES

ABSTRACT A new image indexing based on the color-spatial distribution feature is presented in this paper. The generalized image model that combining the original image with its smoothed image be used in the retrieval algorithm. In order to describe the spatial distribution of color, the annular color segmentation algorithm is introduced. According to the annular color segmentation algorithm, equidistance annular color-spatial moments be calculated as the features of color that can denote the color-spatial information of the generalized images to a certain extent. However the annular color segmentation algorithm cannot distinguish the visual attention of the different segmentation region. Therefore we design the weight for different segmentation regions that can express the visual attention of the different segmentation region in the retrieval algorithm. Thus the weighted color-spatial distribution moments can be used to describe the color-spatial feature of generalized image and consistent with human vision. Finally, the character vectors are normalized using Gaussian model and L1-norm distance be used to measure the similarity between the different images. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm in this paper outperforms Geostatic algorithm in the color image retrieval. INTELLIGENT COMPRESSION OF MEDICAL IMAGES WITH TEXTURE INFORMATION

ABSTRACT Technology in medical imaging is so rapidly advancing that the pressure to keep up pace in all the allied technology is tremendous. There has been an increase in the number of medical images captured, an increase in the demand for the benefit from the diagnosis of the new images and an increase in the number of methodologies that can transmit medical information from the images correctly. DICOM has been keeping pace with the standardization in representation of any medical image. This paper focuses work on DICOM for overall applicability. From the above it is evident that three issues are of vital importance when it comes to keeping up pace with the rapidly improving medical imaging technology. This paper strives to do justice to the three, namely: memory requirement, bandwidth constraint and battery resource constraint without compromising on the quality of the medical image as it could be extremely detrimental to precise and perfect diagnosis. While taking up each issue the keynote ideas will be detailed. Tools Language Processor : Visual DSP++ :C : Black fin 531/532

MULTIMODAL MEDICAL IMAGE FUSION THROUGH A NEW DWT BASED TECHNIQUE

ABSTRACT Medical image fusion can help physicians to extract the features that may not be normally visible in images by different modalities. In this paper, a novel discrete wavelet transform (DWT) based technique for medical image fusion is presented. Firstly, the medical images to be fused are decomposed by the DWT. Secondly, by considering the characteristics of human visual system (HVS) and the physical meaning of the wavelet coefficients, new different fusion schemes are performed on low frequency and high frequency bands separately followed by a window-based consistency verification. Finally, the fused image is constructed by the inverse DWT (IDWT) with all the combined coefficients. Experimental results on both simulated and real medical images can indicate that the proposed method is effective and provides a significant improvement over several conventional fusion methods. STUDY ON IMPROVED ALGORITHM FOR IMAGE EDGE DETECTION

ABSTRACT It has enormous development with the wavelet theory applied to image edge detection for its well properties of multi-scale edge detection. The traditional wavelet algorithm has bad sensitive to direction properties that applied to analysis image edge detection, and it is the major disadvantage. So the traditional wavelet about this is improved and puts forward a kind of new wavelet transform algorithm used for image edge detection. Compared improved wavelet algorithm with traditional wavelet for edge detection, it shows that new wavelet transform is more suitable for image edge detection and the clearer detection result is obtained. Complete image edge as well as accurate positioning and can reserve better detail information. Tools Language Processor : Visual DSP++ :C : Black fin 531/532
