ROLE DESCRIPTION

Role Title Graduate Engineer (Maritime) Business Maritime Reports to Principal/Senior Engineer

PURPOSE Join a team of specialist staff to deliver conceptual and detailed technical solutions to marine civil engineering problems. The role is suitable for an engineer with some previous maritime experience interested in working with a diverse range of UK and international clients on straight forward to complex commissions. The position is based in the Liverpool Maritime office, but may include short or long visits to projects in the UK, Western Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and the Gulf. DIMENSIONS Direct Reports Draughtsmen PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. To support our design teams undertaking and managing the day to day operations of projects in respect of the following key areas Maritime engineering work on a range of commissions principally relating to port, harbour and waterfront projects Participate in the production of engineering design calculations and design details, reports for maritime projects throughout the project cycle including master planning, concept, preliminary and detailed design, Pre-FEED and FEED, design and build, contract procurement and administration Contribute to the production of technical commercial and contractual documents for the procurement of engineering projects.

Work to raise the profile of Mouchel Maritime both internally and externally 3. Undertake own continuing professional development to achieve personal Chartered status and assist in the development of others 4. Operate in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environment and quality standards 5. Carry out any duties which your line manager may reasonably request within the broad parameters of your role. PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications A degree in a Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering discipline. Ideally with a further Marine postgraduate qualification.

Knowledge / Experience

Ability to support in the delivery of engineering projects and reports Familiarity with and ability to interrogate some civil and structural design software is an advantage. Fluent written and verbal English. Competent with MS Office suite programs Ability to work on own initiative on technical and business matters and manage their own time and that of others Knowledge of the design of marine structures, coastal processes and/or use of packages such as WALLOP, STAAD-PRO would be beneficial.
