The inductance of the coil is such that the current ia can be assumed uninterrupted and constant. Armature reaction is fully compensated. Electronic components TH and D are ideal. R = 0.6 ; R = 0.4 ; U = 120V; re = 150 . is the delay angle for the triggering ON of the thyristors. 2.1 For = 0, a) Briefly explain the operation of the circuit. b) Represent the waveforms of Vm, ia, Vth, i1, Vd. c) Calculate the mean value Vmean of Vm. 2.2 A no-load test is carried out for = 0, gave the following results: ia = 2A; n = 2000 rev/min (rotor frequency). a) Calculate the constant losses (iron + mechanical losses). b) Show that E = 2.91n (n in re/s and E in V) 2.3 0 , calculate in function of the mean value of Vm. II CONTROLLED RECTIFIER
The figure 3 bellow represents a single phase bridge (thyristors diode) rectifier supplied by the secondary of transformer whose transformation ration is m = 0.5 and the primary is 220V; 50Hz. This bridge is used to control a load composed of a dc motor (E, R) in series with a smoothing inductance L which allows the load current to be constant.
The thyristors T1 fires at the instant t1 = T/6 and the thyristors T2 fires at the instant t1 + T/2, where T is the period of the secondary voltage. Let E = 60V and R = 1.5

3.1 Precise the state of the components T1, T2, D1, and D2 in the following cases. a) 0 < t < t1 b) t1 < t < T/2 c) T/2 < t < (T/2) + t1 d) (T/2) + t1 < t <T 3.2 Draw in synchronism the waveforms of the following: The voltages: a) (u) across the secondary of the transformer. b) (uL) across the load. c) (uT1) across the thyristor. d) (uD1) across the diode. The currents: e) (iL) on the load. f) (iT1) on the thyristor T1. g) (iD1) on the diode D1. h) (i) on the secondary of the transformer. 3.3 Determine the average values Uav of the load voltage, and Iav of the load current. 3.4Determine in term of period T, the conduction time of a thyristor and of a diode, hence calculate the average and the effective value of the current in T1, D1 and in the secondary of the transformer. 3.5 Calculate the apparent power and deduce the power factor of the system.
