Activities in SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES for the week ended 6th August 2011

The following are the activities under taken in the School of management studies for the week involving all the faculty in the department. On 1st of August 2011, a staff colloquium was given by Dr.L Srinivas on HRD climate in Organisations its significance. All the faculty have attended the meeting . On 3rd August 2011, Wednesday during the association hours the following activities were initiated. Business presentations by students. The aim of such presentations is to make the students exposed to the industries by presenting various performance parameters of leading companies, like their financial and competitive strengths, market reach/share, distribution channel system, strength of their HR practices and overall highlights about that particular company/ industry. further improvement. On 4th & 5th August 2011, during seminar hours, the students have been asked to develop a story within 20 mts. time frame on their interested area and all the written copies have been interchanged among the students and on a random basis, and they have to understand others view (basing on their narration) and give presentation for 5 mts. It helps to understand others thought process as well as their rational ability to understand others views of a specific problem. All the students participated enthusiastically and contributed their views. On 5th august 2011 in the project guidance hour, importance of the project internship in the management studies was explained. In addition to that various factors to be considered to evaluate the company and the related industry have been explained. Immediately after completing each presentation, the faculty have reviewed the presentations and advised the students suitably the various aspects needed

On 6th August 2011, Saturday, all the students have been taken for INDUSTRIAL VISIT to AP Paper Mills Ltd., Rajahmundry accompanied by our faculty namely, Smt. K Prasanthi, Sri SK.Shahida Saheb and Sri V.Kishore reddy. Students went round the unit and had perused the manufacturing process of paper so that they could interpret the findings with their studies and to get exposed to the external environment.

Result analysis: We have received 2010-11 Batch students 4th semester result analysis
from examination cell and overall pass percentage is 98.10%. A SERVICES FAIR-2011 is initiated by the School of Management Studies. . Arrangements are going on and various committees for implementation have been formed with student representatives under the overall in charge of a faculty.
