The leader will lead them around the classroom in a variety of different movements (walking, skipping, jumping, etc). Choose a child to be the new leader and continue playing. What you say: Today in our story we learned about Gideon, the man God chose to lead the Israelites against the Midianite army. Gideons Horn
Supplies: paper towel or toilet paper rolls waxed paper rubber bands markers or crayons pens

What you need: large playing area What you do: This game is a backwards version of hide and seek. Help the children count slowly to twenty together with eyes closed while one child hides. Once they are finished counting, the children may begin to look. As each player finds "It," they squeeze into the hiding place until the spot is crowded with children. When the last person finds the hiding place, that child gets to start a new game by hiding first. What you say: Today in our story we learned about Gideon, the man God chose to lead the Israelites against the Midianite army. Gideon was afraid and even hid from the Midianites, just like we hid in our game. But with Gods help he was brave and the Israelites won the battle. When can you be brave? Option #3 WHOS HIDING? What you need: large blanket or sheet What you do: Lay a large blanket or sheet on the floor and have the children sit around the outside edge of it. Choose one child to step away from the group and hide his eyes. Quietly choose another child to hide under the blanket. The child that was away from the group with his eyes closed comes back. The child has to guess who is under the blanket by looking around to see who is missing. Give them three chances to guess before revealing the hidden child. Continue playing until everyone has a turn. What you say: Today in our story we learned about Gideon, the man God chose to lead the Israelites against the Midianite army. Gideon was afraid and even hid from the Midianites, just like we hid in our game. But with Gods help he was brave and the Israelites won the battle. When can you be brave?

Directions: 1. 2. 3. 4. Have the children decorate the paper towel roll with the markers. Cover one end of the paper towel roll with waxed paper and secure it with a rubber band.
