THE AQUARIAN ECONOMIC PARDIGM AND THE GREAT MUTATION Brian Lee Every 20 years Jupiter and Saturn

make a conjunction. This cycle is associated historically with economic activity. When these two planets are conjunct they work in harmony, marking the beginning of a new economic cycle. When they oppose each other as they have been for the last year or so, it can mark a period of recession. But Jupiter and Saturn have another bigger cycle. For a period of around 180-200 years their conjunctions take place in signs of a particular element: fire, earth, air or water. Currently we are coming to the end of a long sequence of conjunctions in earth signs that began in January 1842. A new sequence in air signs begins on 21st December 2020. As Jupiter and Saturn are the harbingers of the main economic cycle, we should be looking at a new economic paradigm that emerges around that time. But first the old has to be cleared away and thats Plutos job. Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto - the planet that brings the crap to the surface where it can be seen and cleared, working very much like a homeopathic remedy. Pluto - the lord of the underworld who takes you to the deepest place in yourself in order to find regeneration and renewal. Capricorn - an earth sign associated with the banking industry, with government, with bureaucracy in general. In terms of the physical body, Capricorn rules the skeleton, in other words the fundamental structure of the body. Pluto in Capricorn till 2023 - arresting movement to find a new way forward... For the last 180 years the conjunctions between Jupiter and Saturn have been in the earth signs: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. The earth signs are essentially materialistic, that is their nature. In business terms, Taurus tends the earth and grows the crops, Virgo takes them to market and negotiates the best price and Capricorn arranges the social and financial structures to put the grain in silos and provides the investment to finance next years crop. Earth can be moved about, transported, traded, written in ledgers and so on but it is the nature of earth to accumulate. This accumulation of capital has been our model of economics for the last 180 years and its faults are becoming more and more apparent. December 2020 marks a Great Mutation when Jupiter and Saturn begin a new sequence of conjunctions in a new element. This time it is in air signs which are about communication and relationship. Air does not accumulate like earth does. It is the nature of air to flow and move. In general terms, Libra is about the achieving of balance, Gemini about the flow and sharing of ideas and Aquarius about circulation and democracy. And it is Aquarius that begins this new cycle of business activity, for not only does the Great Mutation of December 2020 take place in the first degree of Aquarius but we are also heading towards the Age of Aquarius, some would say were already in it depends how you calculate really, but from the nature of the changes we are living through, it certainly feels like we are on the cusp of a new age. The Aquarian Paradigm An Aquarian model of economics can be described in a similar manner to the way Acupuncture works. For a body to be healthy, there has to be a flow of the energy known in Chinese as Chi (also spelled Qi and known in Japanese as Ki). If Chi is blocked, or if it accumulates too much in one place leading to a lack in another then the body is sick. For me, this describes the current economic situation with the accumulation of wealth in the hands of a few in a few rich countries. For there to be health, there must be a flow of Chi. For there to be economic health, there needs to be a flow of money and resources to all parts of society and all countries in the world. And this is Aquarius job. The Aquarian economic paradigm is not based on the accumulation of assets but rather circulation to all parts of society and the world. Add in the contribution of Libra and youre looking at a fair system that balances everyones interests, management and

workers; producers, distributors and consumers. Add the contribution of Gemini, the twins who once shared a womb, and youre talking about a system that is based on sharing. You know its a darn shame Marx didnt keep his mouth shut. The communist system (essentially Aquarian) that his ideas gave birth to rapidly degenerated into the worst aspects of Capricornian bureaucratic control. He was simply ahead of his time, trying to impose an Aquarian model of society on a world that was still being run by the zeitgeist of the earth signs. Hey ho. So thats my picture of the long term trend. How we get there is another story. The next 12 years or so are going to be interesting to say the least. (Thanks to Laurie for the insights that sparked this off)
