We have a desperate situation in
Macon. An elderly couple has ap-
proximately 70 dogs on their prop-
erty. Most were dumped, some
were born there due to a lack of
spaying/neutering. This couple is
not able to care for these dogs
and has been asking for assistance
to place the dogs in homes. They
could not turn the dogs away
when they showed up at their
doorstep and there is no animal
control in the county that they re-
side in so there was no one to turn
to for help. Through local rescue
efforts some of these dogs have
now been placed in foster homes,
but many are heartworm positive
and most need basic vet care (vac-
cinations) and altering. If we are
able to provide this basic care and
heartworm treatment, most of
these dogs will be very adoptable
and several rescue groups have ex-
pressed a willingness to take some
on if they are vetted. Please con-
sider making a donation towards
the care of these dogs so they can
find a better life!
