Introduction

street light, street lamp, or lamp standard is a raised source of light on the edge of a road or walkway, which is turned on or lit at a certain time every night. The main aim of this study is to promote installation of the street light in rural areas, basically in the route from chandapura to Alliance University in Bangalore, Karnataka. It is also to consider the relative importance that factors such as personal safety, security of property, road safety, demand for street lights holds a great importance. The benefits of the installation of improved street lights in the route of chandapura and Alliance University college is immense. For this survey more over 50 households were considered in Anekal village and some students of the University.

Abstract
Lighting has always been an effective tool for a City. It is not only a
functional requirement, which provides safety and security to motorists and residents; it helps in creating an identity and image. A well-lit city is always a reassuring place for its residents to stay and move around. Local Restaurateurs like Food Club & Mother's Pizza, Clubs and Social areas are direct beneficiaries, which contribute positively to the overall economy. It does not mean that any elaboration of that dark roads deter people and well-lit surroundings attract people. At the same time, city lighting if not planned well can create anarchy in visual environment (both in day and night) and lead to energy waste, which is very precious in current context. Better infrastructure leads to more comfortable driving conditions. At the same time, speed of driving increases which re-emphasizes the need to have upgraded lighting conditions to match the normal standards.

Purpose - The research presented here aims to build a picture of the installation of street light in the Anekal route in Bangalore. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected by interviewing 15 students of Alliance University living in that area.

Research limitations - All are from restricted to the Anekal area. Value - This paper fulfils an valid requirement of street light for the Anekal people. Paper type - General review. Key Words - Street light, Safety, Basic requirement.

Literature Review
Street light is one of the very important element of our society. There
are different attitudes and preference towards street lighting. There are many factors which are directly related to street light such as Road safety for adults & children apart from this security of property, personal safety deserve special mention. There was a strong feeling that the new lighting would reduce the possibility of accidents if the walking surface was poor; or if there were objects blocking the path they would be more visible. Another potential benefit was the possible reduction in the use of personal lighting. As well as the possible positive effects of street lighting, there were also negative effects noted. Light pollution was one such potential effect. Better street lighting would enhance drivers field of vision, and simultaneously it would improve road safety for cyclist, pedestrians & children and as a result less accidents. At the same time it will reduce the crime.
