This case study is related with the use of internet, this report explain some advantages and disadvantages of using internet. Nowadays internet has changed peoples life that is a reason why this topic is really important. First is important to know, what is internet? The Internet is a global system of interconnecting computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks, of local to global scope, that are linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless and optical networking technologies. The Internet carries a vast range of information resources and services, and multimedia content such as the inter-linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the infrastructure to support electronic mail. Most traditional communications media including telephone, music, film, and television are reshaped or redefined by the Internet, giving birth to new services such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and IPTV. Newspaper, book and other print publishing are adapting to Web site technology, or are reshaped into blogging and web feeds. The Internet has enabled or accelerated new forms of human interactions through instant messaging, Internet forums, and social networking. Online shopping has boomed both for major retail outlets and small artisans and traders. Business-to-business and financial services on the Internet affect supply chains across entire industries. The origins of the Internet reach back to research of the 1960s, commissioned by the United States government in collaboration with private commercial interests to build robust, faulttolerant, and distributed computer networks. The funding of a new U.S. backbone by the National Science Foundation in the 1980s, as well as private funding for other commercial backbones, led to worldwide participation in the development of new networking technologies, and the merger of many networks. The commercialization of what was by the 1990s an international network resulted in its popularization and incorporation into virtually

every aspect of modern human life. As of 2009, an estimated one-quarter of Earth's population uses the services of the Internet. Advantages and disadvantages of using internet There are many advantages of using the Internet, such as : Global Audience Content published on the World Wide Web is immediately available to a global audience of users. This makes the World Wide Web a very cost-effective medium to publish information. Reaching more than 190 countries. Provide Technical Support You can also use Web site to provide technical support to users. Because Web pages can be updated immediately with new information, various technical support literature can be immediately modified in light of new findings and developments. This can be accomplished without having to distribute changes to all users affected by any changes using traditional mediums of information distribution, which are often quite costly compared to the World Wide Web. Help people to have good knowledge of different topics, students for example can explore differents cultures and traditions arroun the world without traveling. Some of the disadvantages of internet are: An increasing number of businesses are using the Internet to conduct transactions, market to their potential customers, and communicate with customers and clients. However, using the Internet for business actually has many disadvantages, primarily involving concerns over security and available access for you and your customers. Security: Security issues are the primary concern and the biggest disadvantage of using the Internet for business, particularly if your business involves financial transactions. Staying connected: Connectivity issues can also become a disadvantage, if you are using a computer that is not reliable and is prone to locking up, or "freezing." Availability: Not everyone has Internet access, and many of your potential customers who are not able to use the Internet may actually be lost to you if you do not provide an alternate means of doing business with them.

Access: If you are going to use the Internet for business, you must consistently be able to get access, whether through a wireless, DSL or cable connection. Finding access can become a disadvantage if you travel for your business.
