Your Ideas Can Also Be Undressed

In the spring of 2000, the readers of P-magazine woke up to a welcome surprise when they looked at their magazines. Over a period of 15 consecutive weeks, each magazine contained playing cards featuring a picture of a Flemish beauty on the card. Each issue contained an insert with four cards, together with the box so the readers could collect and piece it all together. Due to running this promotion, week after week the entire stock of P-magazine, with a higher circulation run, had sold out. Owing to this being such a huge success, P-magazine pursued a similar promotion

in the autumn of 2001 over a period of 14 weeks. This time it entailed a pack of playing cards featuring the same Flemish beauty on the back. This was received, yet again, with much delight by the P-magazine readers, and achieved equal success of a high circulation run of P-magazine. Maybe this had something to do with the fact that when you flicked through the cards, you could see the tantalising Flemish beauty turning towards you and taking off her blouse!

Tarot: Your Life in Front of You.

How a Bright Future was Predicted for Tarot.

In the late Eighteenth century, the game of Tarot made the historic leap from an ordinary card game to cards that had divinatory meanings. During the year of 1781, whilst in a Paris Salon, Antoine Court de Gebelin observed people playing tarot and was immediately struck by a bright idea. By looking at the cards, Antoine had realised that the cards had a deeper and more symbolic meaning. This was the beginning of how tarot became a way of reading a persons future all over the world.

Tarot is widely known all over the world and was first played in Italy during the Fifteenth century as a parlour game, though the cards and the symbols date back to Egypt and the time of the Pharaohs. The tarot deck consists of 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana (trump cards) and 56 Minor Arcana (divided into four groups).

The 22 Major Arcana cards symbolise the fundamental experiences in a persons existence. The remaining 56 cards refer to the vicissitudes of everyday life.

AG Muller established that the principal markets for tarot are the USA and Germany followed by the UK and France. To address the increasing interest in Tarot it was decided that people might be interested in an all-in Tarot package consisting of a deck of cards and a book to help interpret the cards. In September 2001, AG Muller, in turn, acquired the Swiss company Urania Verlags AG, the leading publisher of German books about tarot, astrology, divination and spiritual guidance, thus reinforcing Carta Mundis position on the world market of tarot and esotericism.

When tarot cards are used freely, they can be a valuable guideline in various circumstances.
