The first two scholarships in the honor of the late Coach Ed McDermott will be presented on
Awards Night at Slidell High on May 9 at 7 p.m. A committee chooses the recipients, who
must have participated in two varsity sports and maintain good grades and good character.

McDermott, former Slidell High Coach from 1948-1958 and a Bayou Liberty resident, passed
away in 2005. Tax deductible contribution to the scholarship fund can be made by check or
FORUMS money order to The Coach Ed McDermott Scholarship Fund in care of Billy Percy, Slidell High
