[People act out Narrators lines] Elders: The Elders have spoken. Narrator: Myka hoped her mother could persuade them to do otherwise, but even she agreed. Mykas mother: If the elders did so, it means they know you are capable Come. We must prepare you for your journey. Scene 0: Nothing Narrator: Today, we will hear a story of 2 women: a girl from a village, and a senator, wanting power. Different? Maybe, maybe. Our little tale begins in a little village called Rien

Scene 1: The Village [SONG : WILL I FROM RENT] [VILLAGERS ARE SEEN SUFFERING FROM A DISEASE; THE VILLAGE IS SLOWLY DYING.] WILL I LOSE MY DIGNITY WILL SOMEONE CARE WILL I WAKE TOMORROW FROM THIS NIGHTMARE (REPEAT 4 TIMES) [Myka and her mother walk around the people] Mykas mother: Nothings working.. Ive tried every concoction I know. [hysteric] Myka: Is there really no cure mama? [Mykas mother shakes her head] Narrator: This is the village of Rien. It used to be a nice place, really. But for the past 5 years, the disease called Black Blood has been claiming many lives from it. [A group of Elders enters] Elders: Myka.

Scene 2: The Forest Myka gets lost in the forest between the city and the village. She meets Sylvia, an outlaw, whos mother fell victim to the same disease. Sylvia guides her to the city and trusts her to find a cure. Narrator: Now we meet Sylvia. Shes an outlaw. How does she figure into our little story? I-I-Im on my way to the Emerald city At least, Im supposed to be on my way Sylvia: Lies and deceptions from a foolish fool. No one from Rien Village has gone to the Emerald city in over 15 years. Myka: The village is dying.. Im the only one without the Black Blood. Theyve sent me to look for a cure or die trying. Sylvia: my mother died from the Black Blood. 2 years ago, it was tragic, to say the least. Myka: IIm sorry.. Sylvia: Its the past. I cant change that. I can change the future, however Myka: Can you show me the way? Sylvia: ..Yes. Come with me to the Emerald City SYLVIA: HOSPITALS MYKA: LIBRARIES! SYLVIA: Palaces! MYKA: MUSEUMS! BOTH: A HUNDRED STRONG THERE ARE WONDERS LIKE I'VE NEVER SEEN SYLVIA: IT'S ALL GRAND MYKA: IT IS ALL GREEN! BOTH: AND I THINK WE'VE FOUND THE PLACE WHERE WE BELONG! Scene 3: The City Its Mykas first time in the city and she is awed by its vastness and modernity. She wonders where to start looking for a cure. [SONG: ONE SHORT DAY FROM WICKED] CITY PEOPLE: ONE SHORT DAY IN THE EMERALD CITY ONE SHORT DAY FULL OF SO MUCH TO DO EV'RY WAY THAT YOU LOOK IN THE CITY THERE'S SOMETHING EXQUISITE YOU'LL WANT TO VISIT BEFORE THE DAY'S THROUGH MYKA: THERE ARE BUILDINGS TALL AS QUOXWOOD TREES!

BOTH: AND WE'RE WARNING THE CITY NOW THAT WE'RE IN HERE YOU'LL KNOW WE'VE BEEN HERE ALL: BEFORE WE ARE DONE! (The happy mood suddenly disappears. Myka and Sylvia slowly lose the smile on their faces.) Myka: Where on Earth will I start looking for a cure? Sylvia: A hospital? I'd take you there myself, but I can't stray far from the forest. Myka: But.. Sylvia: Don't worry. You'll find someone you can trust in this city.

one doctor Soren. After hearing Mykas plight, he consults his notes and found out that several other places are suffering from the same sickness. It has no cure. While Myka was about to leave, Soren tells her about his friend, an antique shop owner who may have something to help her village. Narrator: Well, that was creepy. While that was happening, Myka managed to find a hospital in the vast city. Myka: Excuse me? Pardon me? Could you help me with? Soren: Hey there. Im Dr. Sorenium Orbis, but everyone calls me Soren. Can I help you with something? Myka: S-Soren.. Erm.. Im Myka Its not me that needs help its my village. Theyre all sick with the Black Blood.. and theyre all dying. Soren: Hm the Black Blood you say? Tell me, what do they look like? Myka: W-well, they look like they have black veins; it gets hard for them to breatheSoren: Theyre pale and their hearts can be seen? [Myka nods] Soren: Just as I thought Myka, is it? Im terribly sorry, but theres no cure for the Black Blood as you call it. Myka: What?! Soren: Again ImMyka: I was sent here, a strange city, to look for a cure, or die trying. I.. cant let them down. Im willing to try anything. [Myka starts for the door] Soren: Wait! If you really are willing to try anything, a good friend of mine runs an antique shop. HES GOT EVERYTHING! HES GOT GADGETS AND GISMOZ APLENTY HES GOT WHOS-ITS AND WHATS ITS-GALORE YOU WANT A THING-A-MABOBS? HES GOT PLENTY! Hes got all kinds of things with all sorts of powers. Not really scientific, but one of them might be able to help.

Scene 4: The Politicians office Meanwhile, Michner is seen arguing with Gant about a music box which can either control the minds of those who listen to it .With Michners threat and money, Gant backs down. Gant has found the artifact and they set off to collect it. Narrator: Lets leave Myka for a bit. Remember the other woman this storys about? Well, youre about to meet her. You might want to be quiet. Gant: Boss, I still dont see why you need a music box for tomorrow Michner: How many times must I tell you, Gant? This music box will enable the holder control the minds of those who listen to it! Gant: But Boss You know the stuff with the magic juju never works.. Michner: Gant I can order you terminated and your family killed in a snap of a finger. Do not cross me. Gant: .yes boss. Michner: So, have you found it? [Gant nods] Michner: Then lets go. Collect it.

Scene 5: The Hospital Myka finds herself inside a hospital. Everyone is busy, except for

Scene 6a: The Antique Shop; with Michner Michner instructs Gant to restrain Kier as he picks up a music box. He walks out as Gant prepare to beat up Kier. Outside Michner handles the music box with care as he pulls out a small book

containing the incantations to make the box work. He discusses his plans. Kier: Senator Michner! What can I do for you? Michner: You can be a good boy and sit still and shut up while my man restrains you. It would be less tiring for you and less tedious for me. Kier: .what?? Michner: You heard me. Gant, you know what to do. Kier: H-hey! Whats the idea huh? What do you want? Michner: You have something I want, and Im here to collect it. [SONG: DECOY BY PARAMORE] YOU'VE NEVER BEEN SO USED AS I'M USING YOU, ABUSING YOU MY LITTLE DECOY DON'T LOOK SO BLUE, YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN RIGHT THROUGH I'M USING YOU, MY LITTLE DECOY MY LITTLE DECOY [takes music box; Kier emits a gasp] Michner: So you recognize this, dont you? Kier: Itll never work for you, you despicable woman! Michner: You think so? Then you should know I also have the book. Kier: NO! Let me go you evil[SONG: IGNORANCE BY PARAMORE] IF I'M A BAD PERSON, YOU DON'T LIKE ME WELL, I GUESS I'LL MAKE MY OWN WAY IT'S A CIRCLE, A MEAN CYCLE IT WONT EXCITE YOU ANYMORE WHERE'S YOUR GAVEL? YOUR JURY? WHAT'S MY OFFENSE THIS TIME? YOU'RE NOT A JUDGE BUT IF YOU'RE GONNA JUDGE ME WELL, SENTENCE ME TO ANOTHER LIFE I wouldnt take it like this if I didnt know what it was for, right? Gant, give him a taste of whats to come if he doesnt keep this quiet. Gant: Yes, boss. (outside) Michner: Marvelous. Such detail and I have the words to unleash its power. Come tomorrow, I will present this artifact to the other

senators, and when they listen to its music, I shall be able to control their minds. This time tomorrow, Ill rule all of Emerald City. This time next year, the world will be mine. No one will look down on me ever again. [Gant steps out; both leave]

Scene 6b: The Antique Shop; with Myka Myka arrives at the Antique Shop with Soren leading. As they enter, they find Kier on the floor, groaning in pain. Soren rushes to help him. Kier: S-Soren [SONG: RESCUE ME BY TOKIO HOTEL] THE WALLS ARE COMING CLOSER MY SENSES FADE AWAY I'M HAUNTED BY YOUR SHADOW I REACH TO FEEL YOUR FACE YOU'RE NOT HERE ARE YOU HERE? COME AND RESCUE ME RESCUE ME Soren: What in the world happened here?! Kier!! Kier, stay with me! Kier: [mumbles] The music.. music... box.. music box... gone.. Soren: No... please don't tell me..... that music box? [Kier nods] Soren: But it's useless right? Without theKier: She's got the book too, Soren! Narrator: Without wasting time, they discussed Michners deed. They also came up with a plan to stop her. They help him up and find out about the music box, the book, Michner and her plans. They come up with their own plan to stop her.

Scene 7: The Building Narrator: The next day, they make their way to the conference room, desperately trying to avoid security. The next day, Myka, Soren and Kier avoid security as they make their way to the conference room. They get caught but are brought to the conference room to talk to Michner. Myka: [softly]Are you sure you know where you're going? Soren: Of course! I've been here. Keep close, we're almost there. Guard 1: Do you know who those are? Guard 2: Hmm, I'm afraid I've never seen them before Guard 1: INTRUDERS! [The two guards swiftly runs toward the two]

Myka: WAIT!!! Micher: What? Who are you? What are you doing here? Myka: M-M-Ms. Michner. Please My name is Myka. Micher: Little girl, I am in the middle of a very important matter. Why dont you go outside and play? Myka: I need that music box, Ms. Michner.. My village. Its dying.. [SONG: EMPTY CHAIRS AT EMPTY TABLES FROM LES MISERABLES] THERE'S A GRIEF THAT CAN'T BE SPOKEN. THERE'S A PAIN GOES ON AND ON. EMPTY CHAIRS AT EMPTY TABLES NOW MY FRIENDS ARE DEAD AND GONE. THERE THEY TALKED ABOUT THEIR FUTURE THERE IT WAS THEY LIT THE FLAME. THERE THEY SANG ABOUT `TOMORROW' AND TOMORROW NEVER CAME. FROM THE TABLE IN THE CORNER THEY COULD SEE A WORLD REBORN AND THEY ROSE WITH VOICES RINGING I CAN HEAR THEM NOW! THE VERY WORDS THAT THEY HAD SUNG BECAME THEIR LAST COMMUNION INSIDE MY LITTLE VILLAGE AT DAWN. (freeze except for Michner) Michner: [SONG: ONCE UPON A DECEMBER FROM ANASTASIA] DANCING BEARS, PAINTED WINGS, THINGS I ALMOST REMEMBER AND A SONG SOMEONE SINGS, ONCE UPON A DECEMBER SOMEONE HOLDS ME SAFE AND WARM

Scene 8: The Conference Room Michner is about to start the incantations to control all those listening to the music box when security, along with Myka, Soren and Kier burst in. Michner recognizes Kier and is about to send them away when Myka steps foreward and pleads for her village and the other villages. Eventually, Michner breaks and thrusts the music box and book in Mykas hands and runs. Narrator: This is bad. The meetings begun, and Myka and Soren are with the guards! Micher: Before we start this meeting, may I present an object of curiosity? I just could not keep the beauty of this little trinket all to myself. Senator 1: Oh, why not? Micher: Thank you very much. Ladies and Gentlemen, if I may direct your attention to this music box?

Scene 9: The Village Myka sings the incantations and the music plays. Everyone listening was miraculously cured. Narrator: Myka returned to the village. She was still confused, but her mission was more important, right? She brought home a cureElder 5: We are very sorry, Myka... Myka: Sorry? What for? I brought you a cure didn't I? Am I too late? Are you the only ones left? Elder 1: It's not that, Myka.. [elders look among themselves] Elder 2: It pains me to tell you this...but...Myka, dear... it's your mother... Elder 3: She is....in a better place now. Myka: .....I was too late... THIS IS USELESS!!! [Myka raises the music box to throw it to the ground, Elders panic, Soren grabs her hand. Myka stares at Soren, then starts to cry.] Soren: Myka Im sure your mother lived a good and long life, but look at your people. Look at their faces. You can save them. You can let them live their lives. I need you to be strong Myka. For your mother, and for your village. [Myka nods] Soren: You know the song? Myka: Yeah..
