Windows Network Administrator Job Description

Basic Description: The Talent Plus Network Administrator will have responsibilities that include the following: install, configure and support our local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and our network system. The Network Administrator will maintain network hardware and software. Monitor the network to ensure availability to all system users, perform necessary maintenance to support network availability and plan, coordinate and implement network security measures. Responsibilities Include: + + + Administer and manager a medium to large Windows server environment Daily support and maintenance of Windows Servers as well as problem resolution Perform server administration tasks to ensure optimal up-time for all associates and clients Skills Required for Success: + + + + + + + + + + + + Strong inter-personal and communication skills. Capable of explaining and resolving problems via email, in person, or over the phone. Available to provide 24x7 system support Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team Security (rights, privileges, accounts) and hardening (upgrades, patches, registry) techniques Active Directory management experience Exchange 2003 or higher management and administration experience Advanced Windows Server OS Administration (NT * 2008) Specialized services including DFS, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Proxy Server Virtualization Experience General understanding of Networking/Security technologies (Ethernet, routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, etc.) Tape and disk back up services experience (NetBackup, OmniBack, BackupExec, etc.) Enterprise anti-virus / anti-malware solution and administration
