Chapter I Introduction The technology today plays a vital role in our society.

It makes man work easier and fast. It lessens error of work by using machines. It reduces costs to an organization from paper works up to computerized working system. Many manual transactions can be computerized by using software applications or computer systems to make work easier and efficient. Information technology can give a company ready access to improve product and service quality, reduce costs, increase productivity in smallest time possible, and communication between employees and to make things with lesser effort but having a better output and even improve company morale.

The process of enrollment in schools requires information technology. The objective of Information Technology is to help humanity from doing loads of work over time. By having computerized system, the cost during enrollment will be cut down and much effort will be reduced. The project involves a series of studies that covers all the requirements of creating a computerized enrollment system. The goal of the study is to provide an efficient computer-based system that will easily update, retrieve, and maintain student records.

This project looks at an Enrolment Database for a college. It stores details of students, courses, year, and section. It may also be used as local assessment of their college fees. The database is designed for use by staff and other authorized user in the college office to enable them to easily produce information required by the different people in the college

The developers main concern is to make a system that will help to speed up the process. The subject of this study is the Enrollment System of Asian Institute of Computer Studies, The study aims provide a system that will serve their Registrar accurately and with efficiency in matters related to their enrollment.

Asian Institute Computer of Study History "To offer quality yet affordable IT education most especially to poor and deserving students." This has been the noble objective of AICS since the very start of its operation way back in 1996. The vision of Mr. Manuel T. Asis, Chairman of the Board and President of AICS, is to let the youth of today learn and enjoy the magnificent growth of Information Technology. It was in November, 1996 when the first school of AICS was opened in Fairview, Quezon City. It offers 2-year Computer Science Course, Computer Technology Course and other computer related short programs.

On its first semester it had only 50 students enrolled in Computer Science course. However, the number increased to more than 600 students enrolled on the second year of its operation and has reached and maintained more than 1,500 up to the present. From 1997 to the present, AICS paves the way to spread its thrust growing to numerous branches strategically located within Metro Manila and Luzon areas.

In the year 2001, AICS Caloocan took a bolder step by introducing and offering BS Computer Science, a continuing degree course for its 2year computer science graduates. This was followed by AICS

Commonwealth in 2008. To date, AICS is offering 2 more BS degree programs, BS Computer Engineering, a continuing course for its 2-year

Computer Technology graduates and BS Entrepreneurship a continuing course for its 2-year Business Information Management graduates.

By the year 2011, AICS has grown to 27 branches. True to its vision and mission goal, Asian Institute of Computer Studies continuously opens its door to the youth who wants to experience and satisfy their thirst and hunger for knowledge particularly in the field of IT. AICS is always on the lookout for potential areas for expansion and reach out to more poor and deserving students desirous to alleviate their status in life. AICS promise to persevere in maintaining and upholding quality education at its best!

This is the pledge of AICS for almost 2 decade of existence. AICS vows to continue and extend its educational services and take part in building up the future generation in the 21st century.

Mission Technology plays a vital role in meeting the expectations of an advanced world that is fast changing and rapidly increasing in complexity and demands. The Philippines, as a member of international community, must address its own priorities by producing human resources that can cope with today's world of information technology. In response to the global demand of IT manpower, AICS takes upon itself the mission of producing graduates that possess the necessary skills and right attitude that could qualify them to join the long race of the best IT people that this world can produce. To this, AICS is committed to:

1. Provide its students an affordable but high quality education; 2. balance their technological education with value-oriented studies; 3. give students a maximum level of support for their development by providing them responsible and professionally competent faculty, adequate facilities, seminars that keep them abreast of the latest technological breakthroughs, and sufficient practical training through simulated office experience as well as linkages with reputable business establishments.

Foreign Studies

Despite recent threats of terrorism, enrollment in foreign collegestudy programs has increased for next year, according to an international student exchange organization.

Officials with the group, the American Institute for Foreign Study, said enrollment by college students for the 1986-87 school year had risen to 2,200 from 1,800 this year.

CHAPTER III Methodology of the study

Planning Phase Analysis Phase Design Phase

Support Phase Implementation Phase

The systems development life cycle (SDLC) is a conceptual model used in project management that describes the stages involved in an information system development project, from an initial feasibility study through maintenance of the completed application.

Planning-The planning stage of the system development life cycle begins with a request to the system analyst. this is known as the system request. A system request is a describes a problem or desired changes to be made to an information system. The purpose of our planning is to improve the enrollment system from a slower system to a much faster and efficient enrollment system.

Analysis- in this phase the analyst gathers all the needed information on what is currently in place and what is needed. They registrar and the teachers wants to help the enrollee to less the effort for the transaction by using our created enrollment system.

Design- A design lifecycle is a set of procedures that guide the design of the software. Explicit recognition of a life cycle encourages development teams to address development issues at the appropriate time.

Implementation-The implementation stage of any project is a true display of the defining moments that make a project a success or a failure. The implementation stage is defined as the system or system modifications being installed and made operational in a production environment.

Support-System performance is monitored. Software will definitely undergo change once it is delivered to the customer. There are many reasons for the change. Change could happen because of some unexpected input values into the system. In addition, the changes in the system could directly affect the software operations. The software should be developed to accommodate changes that could happen during the post implementation period.
