LEADERSHIP Over the Past ten days or so, we have been blessed to witness True leadership. We have witnessed the President deal with grace, with the ranting of a several times bankrupt filing, blowhard. The President in an effort to silence the lunatics made available two copies of his original birth certificate. After presenting the birth certificates, he stated that it was time to stop the foolishness, that he and the nation had more important work to do. Little did we know how important. LEADERSHIP Out President was about to show us what a true Leader that takes a 3 am call does. He forgets about the politics and makes the right decision thats in the best interests of not only our nation, but also in the Worlds best interests. He ordered the removal of the admitted Master Mind behind a grievous terror attack on our Nation. Osama Bin Laden was the symbolic leader and financier of the terrorist world and therefore a legitimate target. LEADERSHIP The President choose a surgical operation that minimized the risks to innocents, allowed us to identify, and to kill our target. While I believe that there was a small window into which Bin Laden could have surrendered, I also believe he did not select that window and that, that is best for our Nation. A public trial and execution would only make him more of a Martyr. LEADERSHIP His burial at sea was also the right call and criticism about it from the Presidents opposition is to be expected. LEADERSHIP The President is also right in not allowing the release of photos showing the dead Bin Laden with the head wound. Those photos would be very gruesome and would insult and incite some Muslims. That would not advance our cause. Yes, of course without publishing those photos, some will not believe or try to make others believe that Bin Laden is not dead, but as long as the President and our Antiterrorist Teams know that he is dead our purposes are advanced. LEADERSHIP The President has indicated that the Congressional Leadership will be briefed. So News Media Outlets are demanding that they be allowed to attend the briefings. I hope the President continues to deny that request. The News Media does not need to know the details of the Operation. So that they can publish those details. We may have assets that could be compromised and at the very least, the methodology will be revealed. The President is once again showing

Florida: State and Local Updates/Highlights
Parties squabble over whos left off Florida redistricting panel Posted Tuesday, April 19,2011 Palm Beach Post. The battle to redraw Floridas political district lines began with a skirmish over the perceived snub of a top Democrat from the chambers redistricting panel Tuesday, the day before the first meetings about the once-in-a-decade process. House Speaker Dean Cannon named the members of the committees that will redraw boundaries for the 2012 elections. Rep. Will Weatherford, R-Wesley Chapel, Cannons designated successor, will chair the redistricting committee. Chairing the Senate redistricting panel will be Reps. Dorothy Hukill, R-Port Orange, and Peter Nehr, R Palm Harbor. Palm Beach County representatives named to redistricting committees include Mark Bernard, D Riviera Beach, and Joe Abruzzo, D-Wellington. But House Minority Leader Ron Saunders, D-Key West, said Democrats would not name a ranking member on the main committee because Cannon failed to name Rep. Perry Thurston, D-Plantation, the informal Democratic leader on redistricting. A spokeswoman for Cannon said Thurston didnt respond to an e-mail call for volunteers. A House Democratic spokesman said Thurston asked to be on the panel before the session and had extensive conversations with Weatherford about it.

Fla. House approves bill on phone deregulation. Apr.20,2011 Tallahassee, Fla. (AP)- The Florida House has approved the deregulation of landline telephone service in the state. The bill (HB 1231) passed by a vote of 110-4 on Thursday. A related bill is moving through the Senate. The measure removes landline phones from the oversight of the Public Service Commission. The commission regulates utilities and must approve proposed rate increases. It would no longer have a say in matters of service quality or price. Supporters say deregulation will modernize phone service. The AARP opposes the measure and says it will result in higher-prices phone service for seniors. Estimates released Wednesday by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest that 27 percent of adults Floridians live in a wireless phone-only households.

FLORIDA SENATE VOTES TO EXPAND VOUCHERS

TALLAHASSEE The State Senate has agreed with the House of Representatives to expand Floridas school-voucher program for students with disabilities. The Senate approved the Houses version of the bill (HB1329) Friday. The House approved it the day before. It now goes to Gov. Rick Scott. The McKay Scholarship Program provides public funds to 21,000 students with physical and learning disabilities so they can attend private schools. School districts would lose basic funding for each voucher student but not money spent on accommodating their disabilities. The new measure adds children with lesser disabilities such as asthma and allergies. May 1st. 2011, News journal

Todays top Story: U.S. forces kill Osama bin Laden in Pakistan Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the Sept. 11,2001 terror attacks that killed thousand of Americans, was slain in his hideout in Pakistan early Monday. Local Commentary and Thoughts

Email from Alex Sink on Mon. 5/2/11 My thoughts on last night news Today, Floridians and Americans and freedom-loving people across the globe are celebrating the demise of Osama bin Laden. I am incredibly proud of President Obama and the American military and intelligence forces for their persistence, focus and decisive leadership in successfully hunting down bin Laden and delivering justice for the Floridians and Americans who perished on September 11th, 2001 . I am humbled by the extraordinary courage and skill our military and intelligence community displayed in executing this mission. Our resolve to continue fighting terrorism and protecting our homeland is strengthened by todays news. Alex Sink campaign @alexsink2010.com
Commentary Submitted by Connie Parham: We are reminded that for the most part, this is a great country, with wonderful people, run by a man who is one of the finest Commander of Chiefs ever. Candidate Barack Obama made the American people a promise while running for President, that if elected he would capture, or kill, Osama Bin Laden. When he became President, he instructed the CIA Director to make the neutralization of Osama Bin Laden one of the highest priorities. This was done without the blustering, wanna be , cowboy statements, put forth by his predecessor. The mission was carried out in a clean, efficient manner. One of the questions asked President Obama during the Primary, was, How he would respond to a 3:ooam call? Well when that call came in, President Obama over the reservations of a couple of his advisers made the right call. He instructed our Special Operations Unit to Go for it!

Commentary cont. As we have seen, he keeps himself under control. So after making this decision he continued to go about his daily duties without revealing in his demeanor, the crucial operation he had authorized. Make no mistakes, if the operation had failed his opponents would be crucifying him now as lacking leadership abilities. So when we sit back and complain about nothing being done - remember - not all is as it appears. Lets give the President and the Navy Seals a Thank You! Lets applaud the President for a Job well done!
