The Pastors Message

by Pastor Hector de Guzman

A COMMAND TO LOVE JOHN 13:34-35
HOW TO DEMONSTRATE THE VIRTUE OF LOVE: I. Love values the other person God loved us not because we had something to offer him, but rather because we are important to him. For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16. God loved us because we were precious to him. He valued us. He loved us because of our worth. In like manner, everyone around us is of incredible value to God. His one and only Son died in their place. Because people was so much important to him, they ought to be important to us. And, we, therefore, need to love them as he loves them. II. Love is vulnerable to the other Christian love is the most costly investment you will ever make. C. S. Lewis, describes the vulnerable nature of love: To love is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. III. Love entails a cost Christian love inevitably carries costs, and even when the cost is high, God can nevertheless be counted upon to bring fulfillment to his followers. Think about Jesus. It cost him to come to earth. It was a venture, a gamble, a risk. True love always costs. If there is no cost there is no love.

Opening Prayer Call to Worship Welcome Praise and Worship Sermon - Pastor Hector de Guzman Tithes and Offerings Announcements Benediction Closing Song

Instead of allowing yourself to be unhappy, just let your love grow as God wants it to grow. Seek goodness in others. Love more persons more... love them more impersonally, more unselfishly, without thought of return. The return, never fear, will take care of itself. Henry Drummond
