14. Checking the CCD Defect pixel

A. Purpose
Usually, CCD sensor has defect pixel, it is hard to decide them as defected CCD.
For this reason, if the defect pixels are within the permitted numbers, compensate them with neighbor pixel.
To do the compensation, location of the defected pixel is recorded.
There are two kinds of Defected pixel. White defect pixel makes the image taken in the dark condition be bright.
And Black defect pixel makes the image taken in the bright condition be dark.
Only the location of white defect pixel is recorded. There are few cases of Black defect pixel and the black defect
pixel can be found by checking the JPEG image. And more this will reduce the checking time.

B. Behavior
① Check the White defect pixel
② Insert the SD card that has the script file and turn on the camera.
③ Camera sets as high speed shutter (1/1500 sec), minimum aperture (f7.1), ISO 400 by the script.
④ Capturing the CCD data and save the data that are brighter than a specified level on the table.
⑤ PV3 threshold: 400 (12 bits resolution)
⑥ Check the Black defect pixel
⑦ Turn on the camera in the CCD saturated condition (LV14).
⑧ Camera sets as slow shutter (1sec), maximum aperture (f2.8), ISO 800 by the script.
⑨ Capturing the CCD data and save the data that are darker than a specified level on the table.
⑩ PV3 threshold: 1700 (12 bits resolution) => This step is not adjusted actually.

15. CCD Black Level (OB)

A. Purpose
The CCD sensor can make the read out data in the dark conditions by it’s characteristics,
and the contrast of the image can be affected by the read out data.
To compensate the phenomenon, the CCD has lightproof field.
But, there are differences between the CCD and lightproof filed.
To compensate the differences, do the CCD Black Level adjustment.
AS the Back Level depends on the ISO gain to change, do the Back Level adjustment by ISO value.

B. Behavior
① Adjusting the Black Level
② Insert the SD card that has the script file and turn on the camera.
③ Exposure of the camera is set as 1/50 sec (Shutter speed), f2.8 (Aperture) by the script.
④ ISO of the camera changes in 100/200/400/800/1000 order by the script.
⑤ Blocking the Mecha shutter, take 5 images with each ISO values. Compare the values of lightproof field and
center of the image and record the results.
⑥ Repeat the step 5 in every ISO values.

C. Spec (Standard for checking defect)

If the result of Black Level is near the 0, the image field and lightproof field have same characteristics,
the result is far from the 0, there are differences between the image field and lightproof field.
Get the Black Level data 5 times by each ISO values and more than 3 results meet the standard,
the adjustments is good. The rest cases is bad.
The standard (Based on PV3) is as following, and the figures can be changed.

A. Purpose
This is for testing whether the remote control can operate in the Remote mode.

B. Behavior
① Send the procedure signal to the measuring instrument
② Wait for receiving the remote control signal
③ The measuring instrument generates the remote control signal
④ After receiving the remote control signal, NG/OK message will display.

C. Spec (Standard for checking defect)

If the camera can’t get the remote control signal for 5 seconds after the instrument sending the signal, it has
defects.

B. Behavior
① Blinking the AF lamp one time (3 seconds on/off)
② Radiating the AF lamp beam
③ Camera checks the lamp by itself
④ Camera sounds a beep and is turned off automatically

C. Spec (Standard for checking defect)

Check whether the position of the AF lamp is center or not.

① Turn on the AF lamp and check the maximum brightness.

② Check that whether the maximum brightness is within the standard window.
③ If the brightness is within the standard window, it is OK. If not, it is bad.

B. Behavior
① Check the version of firmware.
② Compare the version of firmware adapted on the script.
③ If the version is not same, NG message displays and the adjustment stops.
(As the firmware is released continuously while the camera is produced, there may be different firmware.
Firmwares adapted on the script and test must be good to pass this test.)

C. Spec (Standard for checking defect)

If the firmwares are different, it is bad.

E. Log File Inspection

No Log files.

22. Flash firing test

A. Purpose
This is for testing the Flash. The amount of flash exposure is checked during the general adjustment,
the flash should be test before shipment. Sometimes, defected flashes are found among the good flashes.
Repeat the checking for the standard times.

B. Behavior
① Camera sends a signal to the measuring instrument through the nextadj.
② The measuring instrument waits for the flash exposure.
③ Flash is fired.
④ The measuring instrument checks the exposure and decides NG or OK.

C. Spec (Standard for checking defect)

③ Check the result

26. Slide button test

A. Purpose
This is for testing the slide button sensor. Check the slide button recognizes the finger correctly.

B. Behavior
[Description of the algorithm]

Without the clicking the button, the touch type camera can be operated by touching the button.
This type camera operates by push (when the finger is on the button) and release (when the finger is off the button)
signals.
To test the Push and Release signals, test all of the buttons.
Testing the 13 buttons will take long time. To reduce the testing time, make a condition.
The condition is :
Slide the finger across the buttons and the menus display. And then slide the finger across the button again, the
menus disappear. .
But, there are some problems when testing the buttons.

[Exceptions of the test]

※ When the finger is on / off the buttons, Push / Release signals will generate. But, if the finger is not off the button
but moves to the next button, the Release signal doesnn’t generate. The Release signal is generated when the
finger is off the button. This means, the camera controls functions with the Push signal and the Release signal is
generated when the finger is off from the last slide button. So, in this test, we are checking the Push signal only.

① Put the finger on the button and move the finger with checking the icon.
② If the previous icons are disappeared in order, the Push signal is generated correctly.
③ If the icon is not disappeared, though the finger is on the button correctly, that has defect.
④ Slide the finger across the buttons again, and the icons will display.

102
Ⅳ. ADJUSTMENT

C. Spec (Standard for checking defect)

① If the icon is not disappeared, though the finger is on the button correctly, that has defect.
② If the icons are disappeared or displayed when the finger slides the buttons, there are no problems.

D. Procedure
① Save the adjust103.txt and adjust_t files on the Root directory of the SD card and insert the card.

103
Ⅳ. ADJUSTMENT

Inset the SD card that has the script file.

Turn on the camera and the adjustment mode will be selected automatically.
