Weekly
Terminally cleans all exam rooms and bathrooms. Disinfect and sanitize entire toilet, inside and outside including flushing mechanism. Disinfect and sanitize entire sink, inside and outside, underneath basin, all hardware including top and underside of faucet and any pipes or other plumbing hardware. Clean walls, particularly by toilet. Clean floors, get down on hands and knees to clean corners, behind doors and splashboards. Clean mirrors with no streaks or spots on the mirror or surrounding areas. Washes windows in exam rooms
As needed
Maintains janitorial equipment and storage areas in a clean and organized fashion. Monitors janitorial supply inventory, lets RN know when to order supplies Washes walls, ceiling joints, dusts light fixtures, kickboards, spot cleans walls as necessary.
Skills and Attributes: Must have the ability to see dirt and clean it up. Must be self-motivated and disciplined. Have the ability to keep commitment to tedious tasks and focus on getting the job done well. Experience Requirement: Previous janitorial experience in a medical setting preferred Ability to work without supervision. Valid Alaska State Drivers License
Education Requirements: This position must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Performance standard Regularly bend, crouch, stand, walk and move about to complete work. Typically grasps, holds small and large items. Typically lifts 15 lbs to coordinate work. Regularly uses sight to complete work. Typically uses power equipment such as vacuum. Environmental Factors Majority of work will be completed in an office within a medical primary care clinic. Exposure to Hazards: Housekeeping Products. Blood/Fluid Exposure Risk: Category II: Usual tasks do not involve exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissues but job has potential for mucous membrane or skin contact exposure to blood, fluids or tissue. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), when appropriate, is required.

Clean and sanitize using germicidal cleaners Sinks cleaned and disinfected Clean and polish all mirrors, chrome and light fixtures Clean and sanitize all toilets, inside and out and back Refill all soap, paper towel and toilet paper dispensers Empty all trash baskets, wipe down as necessary, replace liners and place in designated area Clean walls, especially beside toilet and sink disinfect urine specimen holder if any Floors swept and mopped-including behind doors and corners Empty all trash baskets, wipe down as necessary, replace liners and place in designated area Wipe down door handles
Exam room
disinfect any telephones disinfect all furniture-chairs, couches disinfect and shine sink, countertops and cabinets-pull items forward to disinfect behind them disinfect cabinet surfaces and doors dust ceiling air vent returns if any dust blinds and blind cords clean windows, sills, registers, moldings etc spot clean walls and moldings refill soap, paper towel, Kleenex dispensers sanitize and disinfect exam table, top, sides, stirrups and foot rests and pumps, lift back paper to do this empty all trash baskets, wipe down as necessary, replace liners and place in designated area wipe down door handles
Janitor closet/equipment
Keep janitor closet clean, swept and mopped Keep supplies orders Equipment such as mops, brooms and vacuums clean and neat, no mold smell Use correct formula when mixing concentrated cleaners.
