University Graduates and Professionals University Graduates and Professionals (better known as UGAP) invites all grad students and recently graduated young adults to join us on Tuesdays at the UCC. Work in Honduras Fundacin Nacional para el Desarrollo de Hondoras (FUNDAEH) is seeking a motivated, creative, bilingual person with a strong background in education to run the Activiteca educational service center, located in Sand Pedro Sula, Honduras. Some of the coordinators responsibilities include: planning and implementing all Activiteca services; maintaining the collection of education materials; and managing the Activiteca office, library, and activity room. Qualifications: minimum five years in formal or informal teaching, education beyond bachelors, strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication, fluent in Spanish, experience with grant writing, minimum four year commitment. Austin Vigil for Life Next months Prayer Vigil for Life service will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Parish located at 4600 E. Ben White Blvd., Austin, TX 78760. It will be held on Saturday, November 19, and Mass will begin at 7am at St. Peter the Apostle Parish. For those who wish to stay and pray, Adoration will take place from 7:50am - 10:30am while a car caravan will drive to Planned Parenthood. Thy mysteries of the rosary will begin at 8:20am in front of the Planned Parenthood located at 201 E. Ben White Blvd. Benediction will occur at 10:30am and refreshments will be served at 10:40am. Sarahs Hope - Fertility and Recurrent Miscarriage Support A free spiritual support program through the Vitae Clinic for couples struggling to conceive or with pregnancy loss. Attend a monthly women's support group on the first Wednesday of the month (rosary 6:45 p.m., discussion 7 p.m.), at the Vitae Clinic in Austin, located at 1600 W. 38th St., suite 115. UCC Spring Break Mission Trip 2012 This year, the UCC is sponsoring a trip to Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, with Hand in Hand Ministries. Learn more about the trip at information sessions on Monday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. or Sunday, Oct. 30, after the 8 p.m. Mass. Both sessions will be held in the library. Applications are available online at utcath.us/ missiontripapp2012 and due Sunday, Nov. 6. See Lindsay with questions or to pick up a paper application. Return Baby Banks Please remember to bring back your baby banks on Sunday, Oct. 30. Members of CLFL will be available to collect them in the atrium. Please do not put them in the collection baskets. If you would still like to take home a baby bank, see Lindsay. If you would simply like to make a donation to diocesan pro-life efforts, funds can be put into a baby bank on Sunday. Matching Gift Sunday Get excited for the years biggest weekend! Mark your calendars for October 28-31 for Matching Gift Sunday at the University Catholic Center! Every dollar that the UCC receives between Friday, October 28 and Monday, October 31 will be doubled by generous benefactors. UCC Tailgate Come tailgate with the UCC prior to the kickoff of the UT v. Kansas game (October 29 at 6pm)! The tailgate will be held in the parking lot of the UCC and will begin at 3pm. Come and enjoy free food, drinks, and fantastic giveaways! Mu Epsilon Theta Talent Show Mu Epsilon Theta is having their annual talent show this year on Nov 4 from 8:00pm - 10:00pm. Everyone is encouraged to not only come watch but also to put on their own acts as well! Roman Missal Implementation If you missed the Roman Missal presentation at the UCC, fret not because St. Austins will be hosting TWO sessions! These sessions are to help you prepare for the changes of the Mass texts and help you understand the richness of our liturgical traditions. Two large sessions will be held on Tues., Nov. 1 following the 5:20pm Mass and on Sat., Nov. 5 at 10 am for anyone in the parish who wishes to learn more about the upcoming revisions of the Mass.
