July 7, 2011 Discussion of the Purpose of Advisory Class

OBJECTIVES/ INSTRUCTIONS/FEEDBACK
Objectives: To orient students on the conduct and purpose of attending the advisory class. Instructions: The objectives of the advisory class were discused. Students were oriented on the purpose of attending the advisory class. Feedback: They appreciated the importance of having a class adviser who will also act as the second mother or guide as they spend their time in school.

July 21, 2011 Value-Listing

Objectives: To instill the value of listening to other person and to listen to themselves.. Instructions: Students were group having 7 members per group. They share to their group all impoprtant things that their classmates should know about them. A member will be called to discussed what their groupmates share to them. Feedback: They share some personal story and reasons why are they enrolled in STI and the reason why they take the course. Objectives: To provide a certain purpose/objectives in every decision,

Instruction: This is an interactive seminar in which they have watched a video clip and in every after video they answer the guide questions provided through reflection. Part I is all about: TO LIVE AND TO LOVE Feedback: They learned that anything that they want in life can be achieved if they just have the drive to do it with all their heart. Also they learn that things can be achieved easier if they have some one to help them. They belived that no man is an island.. A Call for a Purpose Driven Life part II (To live, To love, to learn and to live a legacy)

Instructions: This is an interactive seminar in which they have watched a video clip and in every after video they answer the guide questions provided through reflection. Part I is all about: TO LEARN AND TO LIVE A LEGACY Feedback: Students learn that a mango tree will not bear an apple. They realize that whatever wrong they do, it will automatically bear a wrong effect. But through the journey of commiting mistakes, it is from where you will learn to stand up and be stronger. . Objectives: To prepare them for the upcoming exam and to develop teamwork. Instructions: A student who excell in a particular subject was assigned to conduct review for the group. Feedback: They learn that it is easier for them to learn a topic if more opinions and study techniques were used. They learn to become a team and to work better as a group.

August 25. 2011 Parable of the Pencil

Objectives: To value themselve and things not on their net worth but on self-worth. Instructions: A videoclip was shown about THE PENCIL and the students were asked to reflect on the clip. Feedback: They realize that they live like a pencil. Though it is just an ordinary writing tool, it can be helpful and usefull in many ways. Objectives: To identify ones problem and difficulty and to dea with their problem through solutions that they think of. Instructions: A discussion of their performance is presented and interactions on their problems and difficulties also occurred. Feedback: They were able to realize why they find a particular subject difficult. Peer problems were also resolved and a study habit was agreed upon..

Initially,there were 41 students in my class. 2 students did attend (DNA) and they were a few whos attendance is not as consistent as thye others.
