Seven steps towards self-awareness Self-awareness plays an important role in life for becoming successful. Many times we feel hurt in interactions with friends, society, parents and sometimes with ourselves, but we are unaware of the actual reason. Before I started working on knowing myself, I was in illusion that I am living a great and happy life and unaware of the unfulfilled part about myself which was not yet discovered. Being busy in performing various roles of son, father, teacher and friend, I did never analyzed myself as an individual who has inner needs and priorities above all other relationships. I was feeling unhappy and surprisingly I was not clear of the reason of my unhappiness. I could understand that I did not like many things but why. I was bothered about trivial issues of life such as colors to be used in decorating the house, to the issues discussed in office and so on. But the fact is that I was looking for something deeper. Over a period of time I realized that I simply did not understand myself and my outer world is simply a reflection of my inner self. Here, I wish to share several things I learned about self-analysis which might be helpful to you. These are my views and I request you to study them with an open heart. We all resist changes and like to keep the status-quo. We keep on managing things, manipulating words, compromising situations, giving excuses, hiding self from the reality and trying to leverage ourselves from the consequences of such happenings. So, we always prefer to do what we want, even if we are incorrect and even if the present situation may not be in our best interest. Many of us begin the path of selfdiscovery after being traumatized by such incidents as a failure in an examination, being kicked out of the job, divorce, death of a loved ones, accident or a life-threatening or mental illness in self or a family member. Some of us have to be pushed out of our comfort zone and given wake-up calls to change. When in crisis, we are ripe for new ideas. It is very difficult to know thyself from books or thinking, because the enquiry who am I will not be answered by those means. One guru, master is required to initiate your quest, search to know thyself. He will govern your progress and guide you wherever you are stuck. Here I am presenting seven steps of knowing oneself. These steps are not mutually exclusive or in any sequence. You can take as much time as you need to believe me. I know its not easy as well as wise to accept anyone's thought or truth too quickly. Sometimes your inner knowing gives you the "okay" in a gut-level feeling or you feel a instinct that the information is right for you. I do share with you whatever works for me in becoming my own best authority. 1. Spend quality time with yourself every day: Ask yourself questions such as, "Should I become more active or should I calm down? With who should I share my feelings? What type of situations makes me angry? What risks should I take today to become more intimate and genuine or have more integrity with

myself? 2. Write for 10 minutes a day about your problems: Jot down your emotional reactions to people and events, insights in selfunderstanding, your needs, values and goal. You may write about your dreams expressing your feelings. A notebook is a good place to record your guiding beliefs and patterns of behavior which make you stuck in situations. 3. Find helpers, teachers, counselors, mentors, to show you the way: Many of us are conditioned to keep a stiff upper lip, to be self-sufficient, and to not look outside ourselves when we have a problem. Additionally, if our nature is to be a perfectionist who is hard on her/himself and is ashamed to one's mistakes and problems then one is hindering the healing process. A true helper can speed up the process of healing and you will live with greater awareness. It was a relief to me when I could allow myself to receive emotional support, which required letting go of control and admitting I needed help. 4. Find a friend on the self-discovery path: We need support, lots of support, when we are looking at our past experiences and begin changing patterns, beliefs, and behaviors. Peers at about the same stage of self-discovery can help each other by sharing their experiences. 5. Read and listen: To learn more about your issues, relationships, spiritual growth, and healing, listening to tapes and reading books by learned teachers would be very-very helpful. We live in a fantastic period of time because we can listen to self-help classes, workshops, and lectures that we would not or cannot attend in person. 6. Take positive risks: Once you have a better understanding of yourself through all your diligent work reading and gathering information, talking about your problems with others, expressing yourself in your journal, writing about your insights, goals, dreams, values, etc., it is time to act on your new awareness. You cannot stay in the safe cocoon of information-gathering forever; you need to put into practice the ideas you have been learning to make them work for you. As you make new choices you will learn what works for you and what does not. It is now necessary to take risks to move forward. 7. Enjoy: Try to enjoy the process & results of self discovery. You actually are creating your life consciously and getting results that you like. Others may start saying You are so lucky, why doesn't that ever happen to me?" What you have been doing is a secret to most people, so you really can't explain that it was not luck or chance that makes your life different. People that want what you have without doing the work do not need to stop you from enjoying what you have achieved. Remember to spend time with those who love and support your new growth. Know that it is up to you to take charge of your life in order to discover your true self and actualize your potential. Exercise your free-will choice by practicing these seven steps to get to know yourself. Remember the future is not written yet, and that you are the one creating your own life. ROLE OF MEDIA IN SOCIETY
is not just confined to informing us about the world happenings and serving as a means of connecting with the masses, it affects our thinking patterns as well. There is no use in creating emotional feelings among public by exaggerating the happenings and giving sensational news. The media persons should present unbiased news to the common people. Some bogus news given in the newspaper may raise blood pressure and create negative feelings in the mind. Over exposure to media may cause health problems also. The advertisements shown in TV and newspaper have both positive and negative influence. The children learn violence by seeing movies and TV programs. They imitate super heroes they see in the screen which may be a potential danger to their life. Overexposure to media makes them behave more aggressively, which spoils their future also. The children get immense pleasure in playing video games and they spend hours together before computer, surfing through internet. They see both the good and the bad things through media. The parents should encourage the children to play outdoor games and do physical exercise, diverting their attention from the media. The fashion shows, dance and music programs attract youngsters very much. They like to spend money for makeup, clothing and jewels being influenced by models and actors. The youngsters wish to take part in these programs, which are unsuitable for one's value development. Still there are some ethical people in media who are struggling to maintain the genuine purpose behind it. The way we think and perceive various issues about the world is also shaped up by media. Today everyone especially youth is increasingly becoming aware about his responsibilities towards society because of media. Campaign such as Teach India and Jaago Grahak Jaago helps in spreading awareness about human rights and duties. After this discussion I would like to say that Media is the bridge between the regulators of country and public. Hence it is the responsibility of Media to make proper coordination between both by providing accurate and correct news on right time and not only correct news but the truth also. Media should not be made a business. Mahendra Kumar Ikhar, Asst Professor, MBA, SSITM

In today's world, media has made a very special place in our lives. Facebook, Orkut and Twitter have occupied such special place in our lives that if we are not a part of it, then there is something really important that we are missing. Besides connecting with our friends, media also informs us about the happenings of the world . In one line, I can say that media is like a mirror of the society which reflect each and everything about the society to us. Media people from television and print takes the risk of their lives to inform us about important news. To some extent I can compare these brave journalists with our soldiers who do not bother about their lives and takes the responsibility to make the general masses aware of the truth. Media has a huge responsibility of conveying the truth and relevant information to the common man. Let us first discuss about the positive aspects of media. The common man gets the latest news within a fraction of seconds. The distance is not at all a barrier now. The news they get through media help them in their daily life. The media helps common people to exchange information and it acts as a common platform. The public get knowledge and awake to raise questions on seeing the news in newspaper and TV. The media helps to bring out the hidden talents of the people. The children learn many good things through media. By reading newspaper, the children learn many things, their reading habit increases and their vocabulary enhances by learning new words. Their knowledge increases by watching geographical channel, quiz programs and speeches by famous personalities of different fields. The cartoon channels make the children happy. The games increase their logical thinking power and grasping of things. The attitude, approach and behavior of the common people will also change, when exposed to media. The media conducts polls and let public to take part in social issues. Through blogging in the internet and writing letters to the editor in newspapers, many people give voice about their opinion in different political and social matters. But somewhere this seems to be taking a back seat for media as is it getting increasingly commercialized. Now a day, increasing TRP of the channel has become a priority and therefore media uses variety of means to increase its TRP even if the content is obscene. Media

SIMPLE LIVING & HAPPINESS

I read in a book , It is simple to be happy but it is difficult to be simple. Happiness! The elusive thing in one's life, I think we are living life to be happy. We are putting our every best effort to be ourselves and made our fellow beings happy. Happiness is a condition of the mind which different people perceive in different things. For some materialistic possessions are a source of happiness, while for others a solid bank balance is enough to give them immense pleasure, a synonym of happiness. For some nature with its entire splendor is an eternal source of happiness. Likewise family is another source of happiness for others. It is hard to believe but nevertheless true that for some twisted minds, others adversity is their reason for happiness. Some find absolute solace playing musical instruments dancing singing or engaging in hobbies related to fine arts while others revel in competition, bragging etc. Many of us who are rich, successful and fulfilled are also sometimes unhappy. This is caused due to negative thoughts and feelings which cannot be conquered though we possess every known source of happiness. Sometimes we put in lot of hard work but still are unable to obtain the anticipated results. Rather than feeling low, if we remain persistent and committed to a disciplined effort to succeed one day we will see ourselves differently. Let's take an example of Sachin Tendulkar. He is playing for the country since last 20 years. During this period he has seen failures in performance and criticism from the Critics. Still his persistent effort has given the answer to the critics. In order to be happy you have to learn to appreciate the simple things of life. Real happiness comes from simplicity and we all should strive to live as simple a life as we can. Take one day at a time and try to make everyday life a sweet, simple and charming affair. Let go the bonds of complexity that hold you down and you will realize that though it is simple to be happy, it is not at all difficult to be simple too. Humility and submission to God is the first step towards simplicity. There is no point in becoming egotistical because life is a mystery and what it is today may not be tomorrow. So live one moment at a time enjoying and celebrating it to the full. Every second of the ticking clock should remind you to smile more, love more and to serve more because who knows you might not have the next moment. You do not need anyone or anything to be happy. If you have a simple heart you possess all the ingredients needed for the wonderful emotion and feeling which is elation. So let go of all the tentacles of worry, anguish and sorrow and let your heart sing like the nightingale. You will be surprised that you really needed only your own self all the time to be eternally happy and satisfied because you realize that under the false wrappings of social conduct you truly are a simple childlike person with a sincere and faithful heart which sees only good in everyone and everything. In conclusion, it is so true to say that keep a green bough in your heart and God will send a singing bird. Samir Jaiswal, Asst Prof, MBA, SSITM

IMAGE ANALYSIS: CAN BECOME A WINING TOOL

Each of us is an emissary to the community around us. Whatever image we project is reflected back to us and to the position and responsibility we hold or represent. Public perception is a powerful tool that can be used for our advantage or otherwise, depending upon the image we project. We all like to know how others perceive us. Often, each one of us tries to find out these perceptions by asking ourselves, how I can improve. However, our answers are often limited and lop-sided. To get knowledge of other's perception we can do image analysis. Image analysis is an important first step in gaining an accurate understanding of the kind of image we present to the world. Through this technique, we can find out what others think about us and can gain a clear understanding of their perception of our strengths and weaknesses. You can test the image of yours by answering these questionsv the kind of messages my image convey Do I know to the others? v know how to clearly state the emotions Do I really of mine to others without harming them? v Am I able to project confidence in others by my speech and behaviour? If you answered No to more than one of these questions, you need to consider having an image analysis of yours. To keep yourself acceptable among others, you should know how your image is perceived in the society and what that image speaks about your personality? Thus, you need to take care of image building and relationship, don't depend upon luck to win others, because gaining faith of others is all about Originality, Credibility & Accepted Personality. CASE ANALYSIS: DOCTOR-PATIENT RELATIONSHIP

Lakshya

In management courses, cases are used extensively as a teaching tool. A key reason is that cases provide active learners with opportunities to use the strategic management process to identify and solve organizational problems. Thus, by analyzing situations that are described in cases and presenting the results, active learners (i.e., students) become skilled at effectively using the tools, techniques, and concepts that combine to form the strategic management process. The cases that follow are concerned with actual companies. Presented within the cases are problems and situations that managers and those with whom they work must analyze and resolve. As you will see, a strategic management case can focus on an entire industry, a single organization, or a business unit of a large, diversified firm. The strategic management issues facing not-for-profit organizations also can be examined using the case analysis method. Case Analysis Workshop was organized in our department on 16th-17th September 2011. I want to share my views that I learnt from this workshop. Case analysis is like a doctor-patient relationship. A patient can be of two types i.e., a small child patient who can't speak, but we need to find out the problem to diagnose correctly and adult patient who can speak and tell about the problem. Similarly there are two types of cases one is open ended (small child) and another is close ended (adult). It means case is like a patient i.e. if doctor find out the problem and give the incorrect medicine it will harm the patient, in the same way if the analyst finds out the problem but give the incorrect solution then there is wrong analysis. When writing a case study analysis, you must first have a good understanding of the case study.

Before you begin the steps below, read the case carefully, taking notes all the while. It may be necessary to read the case several times to fully grasp the issues facing the company or industry. Sir told us to concentrate on the following points while preparing analysis for a case: 1. Investigate and analyze the company's history and growth. 2. Identify strengths and weaknesses within the company. 3. Gather information on the external environment. 4. Analyze your findings. 5. Identify corporate level strategy. 6. Identify business level strategy. 7. Analyze implementations. 8. Make recommendations. Basically, the case analysis method calls for a careful diagnosis of an organization's current conditions (as manifested by its external and internal environments) so that appropriate strategic actions can be recommended in light of the firm's strategic intent and strategic mission. Thus, appropriate strategic actions help the firm to survive in the long run as it creates and uses competitive advantages as the foundation for achieving strategic competitiveness and earning above-average returns. YOU DO KNOW THAT YOU ARE INCHARGE OF YOUR OWN DESTINY!

This is the best advice anyone has ever given to me. You do know that you are in charge of your own destiny? I am so grateful for this reminder. Humans are the only part of God's creation that has the privilege of being in charge. However, as humans, we sometimes pretend not to know that we are in charge. The game we play is let's pretend and then pretend that we are not pretending. Many times we forget that we are in charge. I am so happy when I am in charge of my destiny. I get to choose which way to go. All of nature has no choice. They are creatures of destiny. As humans we can be in charge of our own destiny most of the time, if we want to be. A fun thing to reduce stress is to say after each outcome: This could be good! This could be bad! When something happens that you do not want to happen say to yourself, "This could be good!" When something happens that you want to happen say to yourself, "This could be bad!" This exercise in thought helps reduce stress. The good things become bad, and the bad things become good. Just try this a few times to see what I am talking about. Another thought exercise to keep you in charge of your own destiny would be to say, "Guess what? Now what?" As humans we can choose not to be in charge of our own destiny. We can hang in there. We can fake it till we make it. We can wait for our ship to come in. We can say stuff just happens. At any moment we can take control, plan our work, then work our plan. When thing are going good, think this could be bad. When things are bad, think this could be good. If you do not stay in charge of your own destiny, others will take charge. Always say yes when you want to say yes. Always say no when you want to say no! There always will be room for compromise. The best way to get rid of stress is to take charge of your own destiny and stay great! Tell three people each day how you really feel. Ask three people each day for what you really want. How may I serve humanity with humility? What can I do to take better care of myself? Kuldeep Sao,1st Semester MBA, SSITM

PROFESSIONALISM AT WORK
Over the last 64 year after Independence, we have come a long way in the industrial growth of the country, especially the period after economic liberalization has been very helpful for the growth of industry & business. Still, among many areas, the area which has not been as progressive we would like it to be is 'Work Culture' in the Indian settings. There is no doubt, work culture has improved a lot over years, but it is confined to big industrial houses & MNC's. When we look at govt. &small privately managed organizations we realize that there is still a lot to be desired. The realization lets us think why we do not have a professional work culture by default in our country. Either we are lacking in ethics or have failed to see what past has given us. Or this is the way Indian organizations have been developed. Our ancient model focused on high production, then came humanistic and societal approach but still there is pinprick somewhere. We quite often see whenever there is some occasion like marriage or other functions, people give helping hands, even those who do not have good relationship with each other. So, why cannot we bring such team spirit and co ordination in work place? In other words, we need to realize our ancient values & ethics in proper context and try to work with these values in work places to make Indian offices a better place to work at. Shikha Sharma, 1st Sem MBA, SSITM

FAILURE CAN BE AND SHOULD BE, A MOTIVATOR

Everyone at one time or another has felt like a complete failure. Many have allowed the fear of failure to destroy them. Actually, the fear is more and more destructive than failure and in any time of life fear failure can defeat you before you get started What make us so afraid of failure? It's worry about what people would think. What will they say? We assume that because we have made one or more mistakes, we are a failure. This is a wrong assumption. How many people are completely successful in every department or part of life? Not a single one. The most successful people are the ones who learn from their mistakes and turn their failures in to opportunities. Every scientific invention, everything has resulted from a series of failures. No one succeeds without them. A failure means you have to put some extra effort. That is good for us. Failure gives you an opportunity to learn a better way to do it. A failure teaches you something and adds to your life experience. That is very helpful. Failure is an event, never a person; an attitude; not an outcome; a temporary inconvenience; a stepping-stone. Our response should be to determine just how helpful it can be. What happened to you the last time you grow up to the plate, this time it is a new day and at this moment you are preparing to make it a winning one. That is motivation. HOW CAN I WIN FROM HERE?

Lakshya

I met two school students recently. In spite of there being certain stark similarities between both, they were performing differently in their examinations. Both belonged to similar socio-economic family background and were from the same village. Incidentally both went down with a long drawn viral fever just before the examination. It took time for them to get well and only a few days before the examinations they could get back to studies. I happened to ask both the students about how they plan to prepare for the test. Here are their replies: The first student said Not a problem, I shall somehow try to get passing marks. This student had never been the topper and had never tasted success. He did not have any aspirations to be the best in his class. He was satisfied with bare minimum numbers and never targeted high. His plan was just to maintain his status quo. On the other hand the second student replied It would be tough, but I shall work hard to keep up my place in the top three! This student was a topper all through and always aspired to be on the merit list. Just to pass, anyhow could not be his aspiration even in the toughest situation. It matters where your thoughts extrapolate from! While one student was targeting just to manage and somehow pass in the examination the other was targeting to be at the top. It is the quality of target that you maintain at every stage in the process of your journey which matters. The result should not surprise you: the student who had the target to just pass actually failed while the other student topped in the examination. Many of us start the year with very high targets and rich ambitions. However with the passing months most of us tend to miss on our targets. The natural reaction is to lose will and feel hopeless. It's easy to feel hopeless but difficult to keep up the hope against pressure. It's not tough to surrender but it is an arduous task to keep the spirits high when under struggle. As they say it's not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog which makes it win. If you are not up to the mark today, then you should never assume that you will not be so tomorrow. Tomorrow is always a new day and it comes with new promises. Let not the shadows of past failures darken your future. Keep up the mental demeanor. Redirect your adrenalin to recharge your will power and not the blood pressure. Everything in life has a beautiful end, if it's not beautiful enough it's not yet the end! Once you have started off with your mission, it is utmost important how you finish. Thomas Alwa Edison, while he was inventing the bulb, could have very easily

surrendered when he failed in his second or in the ninety ninth attempts. However he had the lamp of hope glowing till he succeeded in achieving his goal. On the way we might fall occasionally and this is but natural. In such low moments winners count the number of times they get up and get going while the losers would count the number of times they stumbled. It's must to continue giving your best performance till the end. Falling down should be considered as recharge coupon and the will power balance should get the necessary top-up with every setback. A battle is lost not when the enemy wins but when the other side gives-up and thinks he cannot fight any more. Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warn have been typically known for their never lose approach while playing on the field. Whatever may be the statistics on the scoreboard and irrespective of the field equations in the game, they prefer to ask their colleagues How can we win from here. Situations when the other team felt complacent about their victory these leaders were actually determined to turnaround the game. This approach has made their team win many games which they would have otherwise lost. Especially in the game of football and hockey you learn to keep up the winning will till the last-minute in the game. Many a match winning goals in international tournaments were shot just while the referee would have blown the finish whistle! It's vital to be in the game till you finish strong. Lessons for Excellence : lis a history and future is a mystery. It's mandatory to execute in the Past present moment, that's the real asset. l is the only dependable weapon for a warrior who desires to win. Hope Keeping the ultimate will to win will surely show you the well deserved victory in life. l journey of life defeat should only be taken as a mini stoppage and not as In the the destination. l end of the day it's ones attitude, while facing adversity which defines the At the fate. It pays to manage and keep on the winning attitude. l can I win from here could be used as a sure formula for success. How Whenever you are under challenging situations, ask yourself ( at least once) : How can I win from here? I am sure you will get your answer. Ajit Varwandkar, MD, FS Management India Private Ltd, Raipur

CREATING S.M.A.R.T. GOALS

Specific - A specific goal has a much greater chance of being accomplished than a general goal. To set a specific goal you must answer the six "W" questions: *Who: Who is involved? *What: What do I want to accomplish? *Where: Identify a location. *When: Establish a time frame. *Which: Identify requirements and constraints. *Why: Specific reasons, purpose or benefits of accomplishing the goal. EXAMPLE: A general goal would be, "Get in shape." But a specific goal would say, "Join a health club and workout 3 days a week." Measurable - Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of each goal you set. When you measure your progress, you stay on track, reach your target dates, and experience the exhilaration of achievement that spurs you on to continued effort required to reach your goal. Attainable - When you identify goals that are most important to you, you begin to figure out ways you can make them come true. You develop the attitudes, abilities, skills, and financial capacity to reach them. You begin seeing previously overlooked opportunities to bring yourself closer to the achievement of your goals. Realistic - To be realistic, a goal must represent an objective toward which you are both willing and able to work. A goal can be both high and realistic; you are the only one who can decide just how high your goal should be. But be sure that every goal represents substantial progress. A high goal is frequently easier to reach than a low one because a low goal exerts low motivational force. Some of the hardest jobs you ever accomplished actually seem easy simply because they were a labor of love. Tangible - A goal is tangible when you can experience it with one of the senses, that is, taste, touch, smell, sight or hearing. When your goal is tangible, or when you tie a tangible goal to an intangible goal, you have a better chance of making it specific and measurable and thus attainable. Setting Goals Effectively The following broad guidelines apply to setting effective goals: l Positive Statement: express your goals positively: 'Execute this technique well' is a much better goal than 'don't make this stupid mistake' l Be Precise: if you set a precise goal, putting in dates, times and amounts so that achievement can be measured, then you know the exact goal to be achieved, and can take complete satisfaction from having completely achieved it. l Set Priorities: where you have several goals, give each a priority. This helps you to avoid feeling overwhelmed by too many goals, and helps to direct your attention to the most important ones. l goals down to avoid confusion and give Write them more force. l Operational Goals Small: Keep the goals Keep you are working towards immediately (i.e. in this session) small and achievable. If a goal is too large, then it can seem that you are not making progress towards it. Keeping goals small and incremental gives more opportunities for reward. Today's goals should be derived from larger goals. Goal Setting Goal setting is a very powerful technique that can yield strong returns in all areas of your life. At its simplest level the process of setting goals and targets allows you to choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know what you have to concentrate on and improve, and what merely a distraction is. Goal setting gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation. It focuses your acquisition of knowledge and helps you to organize your resources. By setting sharp, clearly defined goals, you can measure and take pride in the achievement of those goals. You can see forward progress in what might previously have seemed a long pointless grind. By setting goals you can: 1) Achieve more 2) Improve performance 3) Increase your motivation to achieve 4) Increase your pride and satisfaction in your achievements 5) Improve your self-confidence 6) Plan to eliminate attitudes that hold you back and cause unhappiness Research (Damon Burton, 1983) has shown that people who use goal-setting effectively: 1) suffer less from stress and anxiety 2) Concentrate better 3) Show more self-confidence 4) perform better 5) Are happier and more satisfied. By setting goals effectively as described above, one can achieve and maintain strong forward momentum. Pradeep Dhar, CMD, Vitasta Consulting, Mumbai

Management Story
Ek din ek kutta jungle main raasta kho gaya. Tabhi usane dekha ek sher uskii taraf aa raha hai. Kutte ki saans rookh gayi. "Aaj to kaam tamaam mera!" usne socha. Phir usne saamane kuchh sookhi haddiyan padi dekhi. Woh aate hue sher ki taraf peeth kar ke baith gaya aur ek sookhi hadii ko choosne laga aur zor zor se bolne laga, "wah! Sher ko khaane ka mazaa hi kuch aur hai. Ek aur mil jaaye to poori daawat ho jayegi!" Aur usne zor se dakaar mara. Is bar sher soch mein pad gayaa. Usne socha "ye kutta to sher ka shikar karta hai! Jaan bacha kar bhago!" Aur sher wahan se jaan bachaa ke bhaaga. Ped par baitha ek Bandar yeh sab tamasha dekh raha tha. Usne socha yeh mauka achha hai sher ko saari kahani bata deta hoon - sher se dosti ho jayegi aur usse zindagi bhar ke liye jaan ka khatra dur ho jayega.. Can u imagine the quick management by the DOG... Kutte ne sher ko aate dekha to ek baar phir uskii taraf peeth karke baith gaya aur zor zor se bolne laga, "Is Bandar ko bhej ke 1 ghanta ho gaya, saala ek sher phasaa kar nahi la sakta!" Moral of the story: There are many such monkeys around us, try to identify them.

It's not how many times you fall that matters; it's how many times you get up

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, that is way great spiritual giants are produced. A STORY WORTH REMEMBERING.

On a rainy day like today, a 17 year old boy went to a telephone booth, and called up a number written in his hands. His clothes were rugged, and he seemed to be working in some soil place. A lady's voice was audible from the other side, She said, Hello. Boy, Hello Mam, good Morning to you, can I have two minutes of yours. Lady, please tell me. Boy, Mam, I got your number from the local grocery shop, and came to know that you are looking for a worker who can maintain the grass in your lawn. I am looking for the job and specialize in it. Lady, Probably you have got the wrong person number, because, we do have a great lawn, but we do have a worker who is working on it. Boy, Mam, I am sorry, but, would you allow me to show you my work, I am sure my services will be much better than your worker. Lady, We are satisfied with the work of the worker, we are not looking for a change. Boy, Oki, Mam, for my information, can you let me know what is the amount you pay to your worker. Lady, We pay him 1000 Rs, for a month, in which he maintains the grass four times. Boy, Mam, I believe you are paying too much, here is my offer, I will charge only 700 Rs. for a month, and will check as well as maintain the grass 8 times for you. Lady, Sorry, Boy, we are happy with our worker. Boy, Mam, I request you, I really need a job, and I have a 5 years' experience in Lawn maintenance and can really do wonder to your lawn, a tleast give me a chance Lady, I understand your state, but I am sorry, I am really happy with the work at my lawn, thank you. Boy, Oki Mam, thank you for your time, Have a great day. An old man, was listening to this complete conversation, and as the boy hung up the phone and was coming out of the booth, the old man called him and said, I believe you are in some problem, I was listening to your conversation, and it seems you really are in need of a job, if you wish, I also have a small lawn, and I can pay you 500 Rs for a month, what say?. The boy smiled and said, Sir, thanks for your concern. Actually, the lady I was talking to is the one who's Lawn I take care of. I work on her lawn since last 2 years. The old man got puzzled and asked, Then why you were pleading. Boy, Sir, I was checking whether my services and behaviour is good enough that my client will not be ready to exchange it for any reason whatsoever. The Old, man smiled and the boy went away whistling.
