Drama Script: New Yorker in Tondo Present: A. Casts: Kikay Mrs. Mendoza Tony Nena Totoy B.

Plot: Kikay just arrived from New York and she had changed a lot before she left the Philippines. Tony decides to visit and catch things up with his friend. Mrs. Mendoza said to him that she shouldnt be called Kikay anymore, instead, she will be called Francesca. Her mother, Mrs. Mendoza or Aling Atang as she is called in Tondo, has been carried away in her daughters way of living and now she tries to speak with everybody in broken English. Kikay forces them to believe her she is now an American. Nena arrives to greet the Lady from New York just like Tony and Totoy. Nena and Totoy were also surprised on how Mrs. Mendoza changed since Francesca arrived. Tony talks about his relationship with Nena and decides to explain everything to Kikay when he gets the chance. They now saw Kikay in her new way of living and talks about New York and her feeling of homesickness. When Totoy and Nena left, Kikay said that Kikay is dead and the one in front of him is Francesca: a stranger. When Nena and Totoy came back, Nena told the truth about her engagement to Tony. Kikay and Nena began quarreling. Kikay was hurt, but Tony defends her while Nena and Totoy leaves. Kikay says sorry to Tony for being such a fool and the girl Francesca doesnt exist anymore. She also says this to her mother and she said that she gives up. Finally, Kikay and Tony dance to a tune Kikay heard in New York. C. Theme: There is no place like home.
