It occurred to me that the reason why I had not stored away the Hebrew term for the Greek synagogue is because Yahuah never instructed anyone to set up rooms or buildings to do any instructing in - but there is a history to how the concept developed. The Torah was always read aloud to the congregation / assembly, but as we understand it, there was not a formal building it was done inside of until such facilities were developed in the communities. Acts 15:21 refers to the congregations / assemblies: Act 15:21 For from ancient generations Mosheh has, in every city, those proclaiming him being read in the congregations every Sabbath. The word congregations is G4864 sunagoge, and meant an assemblage of persons, not necessarily a building. The Hebrew term today is BEIT KNESET, meaning house of assembly. Another common term for a study group is SHUL, from which we get our English word SCHOOL.Buildings became the emphasis due to the Pagan concepts getting embraced over the years, since the Pagan TEMPLES (from the term TE PLUM in Latin) were places where the heathen worshipped their deities on hallowed ground. ....BROTHER LEW

Brothers and Sisters we invite you to pray with us today for the Tigert Family who is now grieving the loss of their eldest daughter Sophia (age 21). Sophia was attending college when she passed away. We are praying for comfort in this loss for her mother and father as well as her siblings and friends during this terribly difficult time. Let us lift up the Tigert family, that they are continually shown Yahushas love, and let us all remember Sophia Tigert.

Sophia is survived by: her Mother and Father Daniel and April, as well as her brothers and sisters Brian (age 23), Joshua (age 19), Canaan (age 17), Austin (age 16), Samantha (age 18), Jamie (age 15), Daniel Jr. (age 13), Raina (age 12) Canaan is having an especially hard time with Sophias passing as they were very close. Yahuah knows what it feels like to have His Child die, and their tears will be kept by Him over their precious daughter Sophia.

We can be comforted in knowing that Yahuah is the Possessor of all life, and that in Yahusha we may have eternal life. Psa 116:15: Precious in the eyes of Yahuah is the death of His kind ones. I can think of no greater pain that can be inflicted upon mankind than that of a parent that loses a child. Worse still would be to know they were lost to Yahusha, but we do not grieve like the unbelieving because we know He saves the household of the faithful. 1Th 4:13, 14: Now, brothers, we do not wish you to be ignorant concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you be sad as others who have no expectation. For if we believe that Yahusha died and rose again, so also Elohim shall bring with Him those who sleep in Yahusha. We will pray for the whole Tigert family to be comforted, knowing Sophia has been spared what is coming upon the Earth very soon. `MY BIG FAT GREEK DILEMMA

QUESTION: Shalom Brother Lew Question - Im trying to come to a conclusion as to 1) when the writings of the natsarims began and completed and 2) the translations of there writings and completion. Translation: One source say it began around 50 C.E and completed around 235 C.E. at Alexandria, the same place where the LXX was translated into Koine Greek. If so, does this means the writings had to be in Hebrew first in order for them to be translated and they couldnt have been available in Greek for public reading during this time? And the Latin version was not written and completed until the periods of 385 C.E to 405 C.E. And, I know the Roman Catholics didnt allow the public to read them but their appointed priests until 1600-1800s after the Reformation period was completed. The Writings: Shaul died around 67 C.E., Yohanan died around 100 C.E., Luke died around 84 C.E.. What doesnt make sense is, how can the translation begin around 50 C.E. Did the Natsarim send a copy of their writings to Alexandria for translation for the Greek speaking Hebrews? Because what I understand is, the Greeks didnt force the Yahudim into their culture because the Yahudim shared with Alexander of the prophecy of their coming? So where are the Christians getting their ideas of Yahusha and the Natsarim speaking Greek when they were not Hellenized? So, would you make some correction to what I have so far. Because, my blood brother is still being deceived by his Christian beliefs that Shaul spoke Greek and likewise wrote his letters in Greek. gREEK, OR hEBREW? Its safe to say that the big, fat, Greek dilemma will never end until Yahusha returns. In general, whatever historical basis we might settle on as truth was at some point written by the conquerors. Im suspicious of everything I read (composed by men), while others might accept more things at their face value. Because things were written down by men they are inherently flawed, and the historical record of what happened, or when, where, and by whom, is at best very foggy. The library at Alexandria was burned 3 times, and Augustus Caesar had it restocked partly from his own personal library at Rome. That was from the second fire. The third fire took it all out again. The one thing we can be sure of is that most of the original written records of Yahushas first followers was made in Hebrew, which Epiphanius (one of the headmasters of the Catechetical School at Alexandria during the 4th century) acknowledged in his writings. He stated that the Natsarim heretics possessed the gospel of MattithYahu in Hebrew as it was originally written. He and all the circus fathers were disgusted over the Natsarim, because they refused to acknowledge the authority of the circus fathers, and they lived according to the old law and were indistinguishable from the Yahudim in their observances. Whatever record we have of the process of preserving the writings is probably riddled with conjecture, so I dont think at this point there is much to be gained from trying to unravel it. husha allowed it to be preserved, even if the dragon attacked the Hebrew originals. You are right, the Yahudim were not completely Hellenized, before or after Yahusha came to us, yet we know that Greek was the dominant language of the world in the lands west and north of the land in the first century. The Septuagint was the Greek translation made for this reason. When Paul wrote to the congregations, one (such as your brother) could argue that his readers would be more inclined to comprehend Greek due to their location outside the land of Yisrael, however the accounts written to the Hebrews in the land of Yisrael would most likely have been in Hebrew. So, your brother may be correct, we simply cannot know if Paul wrote anything other than the letter to the Hebrews in Hebrew. The intense fear of Hebrew in people today is that it is part of the restoration process, and competes with the long-lived Greek distortions of the Name as well as the Greek mindset, just believe. As for Kepha (Peter), it is doubtful that he wrote anything at all in his own hand - nor could he read letters. Notice that Sila (or Silvanus) actually recorded Kephas words: 1Pe 5:12 Through Sila the trustworthy brother, as I reckon, I have written to you briefly, encouraging and witnessing that this is the true favor of Elohim. In this stand fast. Kepha would not have likely been bi-lingual either. Josephus informs us that the Greek language was not regarded well by Yisraelites, and in fact stated that for one to teach their children Greek was akin to feeding them swines flesh. The greater focus needs to be on the message, not the language. Tit 3:8, 9: Trustworthy is the Word, and in this regard I wish you to strongly affirm, that those who have believed in Elohim should keep their minds on maintaining good works. This is good and profitable to men. But keep away from foolish questions, and genealogies, and strife and quarrels about the Torah, for they are unprofitable and useless. Im not convinced that the people we are sent to draw toward the Covenant will change their minds if we can articulate and explain the Greek or Hebrew origins of the writings we have received, but rather we need to focus on the power that resides on the message in those words, whatever language we may be speaking. Preach the Word is pure and simple; but if we get side-tracked on explaining how the Word came down to us, then our focus is deflected away and the hammer misses the nail. The power of the Word itself produces belief in the hearts of people when spoken: Rom 10:17: So then belief comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Elohim. thE QuEStiON: I would like to ask you a question as it is something that has been on my heart recently. It regards Mishle 23:13-14: Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you beat him with a rod, he does not die. Beat him with a rod and deliver his being from the grave Also, Mishle 22:15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of discipline drives it far from him. And, Mishle 13:24 He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him, seeks him with discipline.Are these scriptures as simple and straight forward as they seem? That we are to smack our children with a rod to discipline them? This is how we have read them, but I wanted your opinion, experience and research on the matter as I would hate to get it wrong! thE aNSWER: Rebellion consistently needs to be answered with MUSAR (H4148; root YASAR H3256), rebuke, correction, chastisement, warning, instruction. This can be with literal blows, or words. One works better than the other for children, as I will explain below. From the very first signs of rebellion in our children, we need to guide them by instilling in them the concept of consequences. Having been a child once myself, I recall incurring the belt of my father over mistakes, or unintentional offenses. At no point did I ever intend to disobey my parents, but through the discipline of the belt I learned to tread more carefully in everything I thought, spoke, or did. It was fear at first, but this grew into a sincere desire to please them. When I pleased them, they praised whatever it was, which nurtured better behavior even more. Instilling the fear of punishment in our children is important, and it needs to be a belt, paddle, or other safe item that they can focus on avoiding contact with. Training needs consistency, because behavior is directly tied to positive or negative expectations in the subject being trained. With our first son, we tried to guide him with conversation (the word approach) rather than the paddle (blows) for his first six years. We would give him 5 minute time-outs in the corner. After years of this, we realized it failed and actually caused him to develop into a strongwilled child. The penalty for unacceptable behavior needs to be administered rapidly, and as their tears subside we need to explain that we did it because we love them. A parent that does not discipline (MUSAR) their child either does not care, or is misled by propaganda that will cause the child to develop into a self-centered bully, and they will become manipulators of everyone around them. Children who are raised in a fatherless environment are the most prone become criminals. Proverbs needs to be taken literally. Proverbs 23:13, 14 informs us clearly to strike, but this is done in love, not anger. It is not a beating that causes damage, but it is done only to get their attention, and guide them to focus on perfecting their behavior. The strikes need not be more than 3 or 4 moderately firm blows to the gluteus maximus. We must not strike the head of a child, or shake them in any way. The goal is to instill self-control in our children. They will grow up into adults having learned that bad behavior has consequences. The great majority of children being raised today are lacking this knowledge, and societies are suffering their own consequences as a result. Heb 12:5-11: And you have forgotten the appeal which speaks to you as to sons, My son, do not despise the discipline of Yahuah, nor faint when you are reproved by Him, for whom Yahuah loves, He disciplines, and flogs every son whom He receives. (Prov. 3:11-12) If you endure discipline, Elohim is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom a father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline, of which all have become sharers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Moreover, we indeed had fathers of our flesh disciplining us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? For they indeed disciplined us for a few days as seemed best to them, but He does it for our profit, so that we might share His set-apartness. And indeed, no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but grievous, but afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Love to all, brother Lew

I was told that by a Rabbi that in order for my divorce (to an unfaithful woman) to be legitimate in the eyes of our Father in Heaven, I must first obtain, what he called, a Kosher Get (which is a divorce decree). Is this true? Do I have to go through this whole thing again in order to be clean before Yahuah? ANSWER: Dear [bro. name deleted], Kosher has very much become a business (for some) by which to amass wealth and power, and consequently the business of kosher carries with it certain pressures designed to influence the weak minded to invest in an ideal. That you cannot simply have a copy of the ten commands posted on your door, but instead you must have a kosher animal parchment, written in Hebrew by a certified Jewish scribe in Israel, penned in a specific ink, encased in a precious metal or wooden case (so that none may actually read it) something (???do you know that many of these do not even contain the ten commands, but rather only the command to have the commands written on the doorposts???!!!) screwed to the (as an outward sign, see Rom. 2:29) of only the external door (dismissing an opportunity to post them to the childrens door in compliance with the statute) so that it may be kissed (and it must be kissed, according to tradition of the Rabbis) upon entering and exiting the dwelling, in an attempt to place on it a manner of symbolism that begins to equate this devise with that of a talisman, and by extension granting to it the status of an object to be worshipped or revered (as many have done with the cross (not even a legitimate symbol!!!), or even the Scriptures (rather than read the contents of the book)), to be in compliance with Debarim (Deut.) 6:9 not only typifies the grievances with this system, it, within the arrogance of its own complacency, completely dismisses the spirit of the law (which is that we read it with regularity, and remember these statutes in all things as we go about our daily lives), and attempts to replace this spirit with a sentimental idea that we are somehow supporting Israel in this behavior via the $40 + bucks we shelled out for the privilege of proving our sincerity. And many more such things they do!!! In my estimation (based on what youve told me) youve given your ex a certificate of divorce, and are therefore to be seen as compliant with the prescribed methods of this practice. You should be given no further cause to have unrest, and instead be now allowed by others to feel at peace with the Fathers will. Also, I would be on the lookout for anymore such contrivances as the Kosher Get, not only within the bounds of the Hebrew culture (as defined by man), but all of humanity...just a nickels worth of free advice. He then called me In Florida From Ohio to tell me about the book he had just read saying All We have ever believed in is WRONG So I read the book TOOK me 6 months to read. I was just so shocked , angry, so many emotions at the same time. thE gREEN thiNg a must read for all; especially those blessed ones born after 1945! in the line at the store, the cashier told an older woman that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags werent good for the environment. the woman apologized to her and explained, We didnt have the green thing back in my day. the clerk responded, thats our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment. She was right -- our generation didnt have the green thing in its day. Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. the store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled. But we didnt have the green thing back in our day. We walked up stairs, because we didnt have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didnt climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks. But she was right; we didnt have the green thing in our day. Back then, we washed the babys diapers because we didnt have the throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry the clothes. Kids got handme-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that old lady is right: we didnt have the green thing back in our day. Back then, we had one tV, or radio, in the house -- not a tV in every room. and the tV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. in the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didnt have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used a wadded up old newspaper to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didnt fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didnt need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity. But shes right; we didnt have the green thing back then. We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But we didnt have the green thing back then. Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service.. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. and we didnt need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint. But isnt it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didnt have the green thing back then?
