The algorithm of the software for parame
ters calculation of the Tesla coil with the iron
core is considered.
Generators of relativistic electron jets are
divided into two main types: based on Marx
generators and based on Tesla coil [1-3].
Main advantages of the generators based
on Tesla coil compared with pulsed Marx gen
erator are the capabilities of operation with
high repletion frequency, the narrow cost due
to the low number of capacitors used, the
efficiency, the compactness, the simplicity.
In some cases one requires to use the related
waveforms first half-wave of high voltage as
operating (i. e. decreasing time of maximal
voltage obtaining). Such conditions are real
ized in charging one capacity from another
through the pulsed transformer with the iron
core (Fig.1) with small value of leakage
inductance compared with the magnetizing
inductance and when the condition
L1C1=L2C2 is fulfilled.
To calculate such transformer without tak
ing steel non-linearity into account the soft
ware was designed.
In Fig.2 is shown the space construction of
the transformer magnetic circuit including N
cores, which planes are radially to the circle.
The primary winding coiled round the
magnetic core has the radius rl' the second
ary one has the radius r2. The internal hole
of ever core is the rectangle with the sides d
and c. The core thickness is a.
With the known geometric proportions
between the elements of the transformer con
struction the magnetic energy of the primary
winding leakage field is equal to

here Ir is the relative permeability, il is
the current of the primary winding, ql is the
number of the primary winding, N is the
number of cores.
On the other hand the magnetic energy is
expressed by the known proportion through
the inductance and the current running over
this inductance.

Thus, from the proportions (1) and (2) the
leakage inductance can be determined equiva
lent to the leakage inductance of the primary
and secondary windings.
To calculate the primary winding magne
tizing inductance the known proportion [3] is
used

a result the oscillograms of the primary and
secondary windings voltages and currents,
coefficient of efficiency as well as the operat
ing value of the primary and secondary wind
ings currents to provide the insulation
electric strength is obtained.
According to the algorithm presented the
numerical calculation was performed, which
is matched with the carried out analysis, e. g.
the maximum of high voltage was obtained
on the waveforms first half-wave.
Thus the given algorithm and proportions
(3), (5), (7) can be used to design Tesla coil
with iron core.
