Christmas Cantata -- December 11 Please worship with us on December 11 at 10:30 AM. This service will feature our Christmas cantata, handbells and our Cloud 6 dancers. Elder Jay Dunn will be preaching. Congratulations to Dr. Kelly Samarzea We offer our congratulations to our Director of Music Ministries, Kelly Samarzea, for successfully passing the oral defense of her dissertation at Indiana University. She now officially holds her Ph.D. Kelly will attend her graduation ceremony in December. Well done, Kelly!

The winter quarter (December-February) Bible study theme for Adult I will be God establishes a faithful people, focusing on the Abrahamic covenant and will include selections in the books of Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Galatians. The class meets at 9:15 Sunday mornings in the Conference Room.

"Outside of the gospels, Paul the Apostle wrote approximately 60 % of the New Testament. Each book reflected Gods revelation to him and through him. Paul was closing in on the end of his ministry. In the Book of Romans, Paul set forth a full and orderly statement of the great principles of the gospel that he preached. Romans is the greatest exposition of Christian doctrine ever written; a summation of all his individual letters with additional insights. During the next quarter and perhaps beyond, the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be seen through the words of Gods servant Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles".

The Christmas Joy Offering is one of the four special offerings designated by the General Assembly. The fund will be distributed equally to the Assistance Program of the Board of Pensions to help retired church workers in case of special financial needs or emergency situations, and to support student scholarships at Presbyterian-related racial ethnic schools and colleges. This offering has been a tradition of the Presbyterian Church since the 1930s. It will be collected in our church on December 18. Stewardship Commitment Sunday was celebrated on November 6. Our church has had a wonderful 50 year history. As you think back over the past 50 years, think about the opportunities for the next 50 yearscommunity involvement, missions, opportunities for our youth, and many more. Pledge cards are still being accepted. The future will depend upon you. As of November 15 we have received 72 pledges in the amount of $192,454. Time and Talent Surveys are available. Please pick one up and fill it out. This is the best way for the church to know in what areas you would like to serve, and it is the best way for you to know you are needed. The completed survey can be dropped off at church in the basket on the table in the Narthex.

Denbigh Presbyterian PrePre-Kindergarten

We had a lot to be thankful for at the Pre-Kindergarten during the month of November. On our school spirit days, our students donated 60 cans and boxes for the food closet. The children brought in enough items to fill 17 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. We had so many items donated that we were able to give the leftover crayons, toys, and toiletries to the church to help with other church ministries, including a dozen extra tooth brushes that will be included in the toiletry kits during PORT. Our 3 year olds have hunted turkeys and our 4 year olds had a Thanksgiving Feast, but now we are preparing for Christmas! Our annual Christmas Chapel program will be held on Wednesday, December 7 and Thursday, December 8. The program will begin at 11:15 both mornings, so please come and join us as our children hear the Christmas story, sing songs, and ring bells. I am sure it will bring a smile to your face! Childrens and Youth Sunday School

We have completed our lessons on the Bible stories illustrated in our churchs stained glass windows. It was truly inspiring to go into the sanctuary each week and admire the stained glass windows that were so beautifully created by our very own church members. During the winter quarter our classes will be learning about the love of Jesus and the love of God. Our Kindergarten 3rd grade class will learn about Loving Jesus meeting Jesus, learning about his promises and our love for him, too. Our 4th & 5th graders will learn about the Exodus to Ruth and the redemptive acts of God in dealing with his covenant people. First topic what does redemptive mean??? Our Middle School Youth will learn more about the Bibles unifying theme of Gods covenant. What is Gods covenant and what does it mean in our lives today? Our High School Youth will talk about Knowing the God Who Is. How do we know God exists? Is being a Christian worth it? What is God like? Why do we suffer? Join us at 9:15 AM for FUN and FELLOWSHIP while learning about our FAITH. A light breakfast is provided. At Faith Weaver Friends, each child experiences an incredible, personal friendship with Jesus through opening celebrations, family-style dinner, Discovery Centers, Bible Study, recreation and journaling. The fall session of Faith Weaver Friends runs through November 30. Faith Weaver Friends is for children/youth entering Kindergarten to High school. We are also offering a Bible Study Class for adults while the kids are enjoying their activities. Wednesday evenings are for the whole family! As a church family, DPC surpasses other churches that we have been members of with respect to love, caring, support and friendship. Aurelia and I are thankful for the phone calls, prayers, cards, visits and other acts of kindness during a very difficult time of personal illness. My wish is that God will continue to bless us as a congregation that cares for each other and the people we have been called to serve. Love for Christ, Lorenzo Grant
