2 General information
The magazine device AMS 03 functions to load magazines with printed circuit boards (PCB) which are led from a production line. The unit platform can carry two magazines. The unit switches to align the stand-by magazine automatically after one magazine is loaded. The unit consists of one lifting axle for the magazine platform, one movable table, one conveyor segment with one pusher by which PCB are inserted into magazine.
3 Safety instruction
Read the technical description before operation. Keep one copy of the technical description in an accessible place, e.g. switch cabinet, for operators. Moreover, only qualified persons are allowed to operate the unit.
3.2 Risk
Injury to operator or damage to property due to either interference in the hard and software of the unit or ignorance of the given technical and safety instruction.

7 Manual mode
The manual mode can be retrieved at the unit base position by pressing F5. Individual manual function can be chosen by means of function keys F1 to F3. The unit can be equipped with release manual by means of a key switch (refer to point 4.1 Additional operation elements - Option - p. 6), with which the manual mode can only be released. An additional blue signal lamp shows the manual operation status. Caution! The interlock switch is not safe-guarded in manual operation. Only professional is allowed to retrieve manual operation. All manual movements are carried out in certain rhythm. The following functions are available: F1 = Test mode 1: F2 = Test mode 2: F3 = Test mode 3: table / pusher movable table / conveyor width setting

9 Operation procedure
Place two empty magazines on the platform and fix them by means of the magazine buckles. The sensor system, which releases the functional procedure, is integrated after fastening the buckles. When the buckles are open more than two seconds, the unit realises there is a magazine exchange and continues the automatic process independently after closing the buckles. If the unit is in stand-by mode, press Start to activate the unit (at least one buckle must be closed). The lifting axle drives with the platform to the handover height where the first pitch is and starts the magazine loading process in co-ordination with interface signal. Once the on-line magazine is completely loaded, the platform switches sideways to align the stand-by magazine. The unit can operate with either one or two magazines.

11 Description of interface
An interface is required in between adjoining machines for either take-over or hand-over process. Our machines can be equipped with different interfaces. Change of interface always requires suitable connection facilities. Interface modifications without connecting the right connection facilities may produce a functional error and possibly cause an electrical fault. We would be glad to provide you information regarding difficult aspects of modifying interface. When the unit is equipped with interface under Siemens-Definition, 37-pin AMP plug and socket are used for connection (refer to Siemens). When the unit is equipped with interface under SMEMA-Definition, refer to SMEMA.
