The Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards is one of the biggest occasions in the Cotswold food calendar. Now in its tenth anniversary year, this glamorous event celebrates all that is good about our food producers, hoteliers, restaurateurs and publicans, with awards voted for by our knowledgeable readership Mike Lowe, Editor

rom the various surveys and research we have conducted over the years it is clear that eating - both in and out - is one of the most regularly enjoyed habits of our readers. This is why we focus so much editorial space and concentrate so much attention on foodie stories, reviews, eating

establishments and on our annual Food & Drink Awards, which offer a perfect rendezvous between purveyors of quality food and some of the most influential people in the Cotswolds' food and drink industry.

How the awards work

he 2012 awards will be launched in the March issue of Cotswold Life. The nomination form will also be uploaded onto cotswoldlifeawards.greatbritishlife.co.uk and regular press releases will be sent out to all local press and industry experts.

The three finalists selected in each category will then be notified and will undergo 'mystery shopper' judging. All category sponsors will have the opportunity to be involved with this (between mid May and mid June). Each finalist and sponsor will be invited to join VIP guests and local food industry experts at the black tie evening awards ceremony which will be held in the Centaur at Cheltenham Racecourse on July 2nd 2012, from 7pm-midnight. After a delicious threecourse meal prepared from local ingredients, the winners will be announced during an awards ceremony presented by Steve Knibbs from BBC Points West.

Once the closing date has passed, all categories will be short-listed in early May by a panel of judges including editor Mike Lowe, chief writer Katie Jarvis, food editor Mark Taylor and The Cotswold Chef Rob Rees.

Testimonials
Hear what our sponsors and finalists had to say about the 2011 Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards
Once again, the Cotswold Life Food & Drink awards have exceeded all expectation in proving they are an ideal platform for local businesses to increase their profile. We have just signed up for 2012 having been delighted with the coverage and awareness we have received during all five years that we have sponsored the awards. Warners Budgens champions local food and the Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards tie in with that perfectly. Guy Warner, Warner's Budgens (Main sponsor) I am delighted to say that the Awards dinner this year, in addition to being an impressive and enjoyable social event, proved to be an opportunity to make promising new introductions. In addition, within 24 hours of the dinner we received an enquiry about our range of courses from someone attending the ceremony. More importantly still, sponsorship of the Cotswold Life Food and Drink Awards is a very tangible way for Hartpury to support our regional food and drink producers and give recognition for regional excellence. Luke Rake, Vice Principal, Hartpury College We are very pleased to sponsor and support this event and your magazine which truly recognises effort and hard work put in by the many businesses and staff involved in the food and drinks industry which makes our Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds so special. To sponsor the Food Hero is an honour as it recognises people with passion like all those nominated for these prestigious awards that actual mean something long may it continue and the winners enjoy the recognition they deserve. We are all looking forward even now to the Cotswold Life Food and Drink 10th Anniversary Olympian Awards of 2012 a really special year to be a winner.

Hartpury College continues to benefit from our association with the very prestigious and growing Cotswold Life Food and Drink Awards David Pedrette, and I am confident that our expenditure on Target Catering Equipment sponsorship will prove to be well spent.
