Teacher distributes a manilacard, a ruler, a scissors and rectangular and square card in multiple size.
Communicating
Teacher asks pupils to draw 1cm squares on the manilacard and cut them with scissors.
Teacher asks pupils to measure the square and rectangular surface shape given by using 1cm square shape and record their findings in the worksheet given.
Teacher asks pupils to count the number of 1cm square for the another surface in different size.
Teacher discuss with pupils about their findings. Teacher ask pupil about the other method to know the area of surface.
Pupils conclude that area can be calculate by using formula; Area = length x width
Pupils are required to complete the exercises in their worksheet with teacher guidance.(Appendix B)
