Location and amenities

Carvoeiro
Carvoeiro is a lively fishing village and in our
opinion one of the most charming and attractive
villages in the Algarve. It is a very popular year
round villa holiday destination with a diverse
range of properties to suit all tastes ranging from
quaint traditional townhouses through to luxury
Ocean front villas. Many different nationalities
have made Carvoeiro their home giving it a
cosmopolitan feel yet it still retains its old
Portuguese charm.
Schools
There is a nursery school (Jardim do infancia)
and a primary school (Escola primaria) in
Carvoeiro, the primary school occupies one of the
best spots in the village overlooking the Ocean.
The nearest secondary schools are in Lagoa which
is a 10 minute drive. All lessons are in Portuguese
and schooling is free for foreigners, the only cost
involved is purchasing the yearly school books
and work materials. In general the younger the
children are the quicker they adapt to the language
and the Portuguese way of doing things.
For older children and ones who wish to continue
their studies in English there is the Porches
(private) International school within a 15 minute
drive from Carvoeiro which offers lessons in both
English and Portuguese.
Beaches
There are no less than 10 different beaches within
a short drive from Carvoeiro including the award
winning Praia da Marinha recently voted one of
the world’s best !
Golf
There is a short 9 hole course at Vale de Milho in
Carvoeiro and 2 challenging 18 hole courses
Gramacho & Vale de Pinta within a 10 minute
drive, there are numerous others in the area.
