Answer

DROID 2 - Calendar How do I use the calendar?

Calendar works with Google Calendar web-based service for creating and managing events, meetings, and appointments. When you first set up your phone, you configured it to use an existing Google Account, or you created a new account. The first time you open the Calendar application on your phone, it displays any existing calendar events from your Google Account on the web. To create an event:

1. Open you calendar by either tapping on the Google Calendar widget

on your homescreen or launch Calendar application Applications tray

from

2. Press Menu to get Calendar options 3. Touch New Event to open the Event details screen. You can also touch & hold a spot in Day, Week, or Month view to open a menu where you can touch New Event, to open the Event details screen with that day and time pre-entered. Touch "Today" icon to move attention to the current day. 4. Add details about the event. Tap in a text box for the keyboard to enter a name, time, and optional additional events about the event, just as you do in Google Calendar on the web. Any contacts from your established Gmail, Enterprise and Social Networking accounts can be searched to contact for an event. If you have more than one calendar, you can choose the calendar you want to add the event to.

5. You can touch the X button or press Menu > Add reminders to add additional reminders 6. Press Menu and touch Show extra options to add additional details about the event. 7. Scroll to the bottom of the Event details screen and touch Save. The event is added to your calendar.

Feel free to invite others to the event and configure additional details when you open the event in Google Calendar on the web. To change your calendar view: 1. From the Applications Menu, touch Calendar

Be sure to visit Google Calendar on the web (http://calendar.google.com) to learn more about the features the web and phone versions share, and to learn about and use web-only features.

Notes: Meetings can be accepted and rejected via the calendar application, not the email application. After you setup your calendar you need to open the calendar application to allow the first sync. Click here to learn how to Sync / Unsync your Google account Calendar. When you access the calendar in day view the current time view is determined by the time of day.
