01. Superintending Engineer:Essential Qualification & Experience: (i) Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised Institute / university with a total of 15 years of experience in execution and construction of Civil Work including Public Health and Contract management. (ii) Holding analogous post at the same level or worked as an Executive Engineer in the Pay Band-3 [Rs. Rs.15,600-39,100/-] with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/- or its equivalent for a period of at least 7 years under the Central / State Government including Govt. Autonomous Bodies / Organisations and Public Sector Undertakings. Desirable: (i) Masters Degree in Construction Management or equivalent. (ii) Work Experience of implementation of a large project having layout of at least Rs.150 crores or more. 02. Deputy Librarian Essential Qualification & Experience:I. A Masters Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent Grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record. Five years experience as an Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian in the PB-3 with a Grade Pay of Rs.5400/- or its equivalent or more. Desirable: Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work and professional commitment, computerization of library.An M.Phil. / Ph.D. Degree in Library Science/Information Science / Documentation / Archives and manuscript-keeping / computerization of library. Experience as an Asst. Librarian in Engineering / Technical Institutes of National Importance like IITs/IISER/IISc/NIT and similar Central Govt. institutions. 03. Assistant LibrarianEssential Qualification & Experience:I. A Masters Degree in Library Science/ Information Science/ Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library. Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC. However, candidate, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009 including existing University level Asst Librarian in PB-3 with a Grade Pay of Rs.5400/- or more shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment.

04. Assistant Registrar Essential Qualification & Experience:-

A Masters Degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks or its equivalent Grade B.

Five years experience in one or more of the following areas: Accounting, Auditing, Financial Procedures, Administrative matters including Legal, Labour relations & laws, Public relation, Recruitment, Establishment, Academic matters such as conduct of examinations, maintenance of student records, Estate Management, Materials Management and Import procedure in a Government, Semi Government, Financial/ Commercial organization, reputed recognized University/ Technological Institution of national standing. IV. Sound Knowledge of MS Office applications like Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point etc. Desirable: Experience in Engineering / Technical Institutes of National Importance like IITs/IISER/IISc/NIT and similar Central Govt. institutions.

05. Private Secretary:Essential Qualification & Experience: Bachelors Degree with at least 5 years of working experience as PA/PS in Government, Semi Government, reputed University, Technical/Autonomous Institutions with an excellent proficiency in English language, Stenography with minimum speed of 100 w.p.m., Computer knowledge , Office Applications and Secretarial Practices like interdepartmental/Govt. correspondence, maintenance of daily diary, appointments, meetings. The incumbent should able to handle correspondence independently and would have to coordinate with all Departments/Schools and activities of the Institute. Desirable: Masters Degree in Management or equivalent with enough experience in the Office Management, Public Relation/Public Management. 06. Junior Technical Superintendent:Essential Qualification & Experience: M.Sc. in Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Geology & Geo-Physics / Bio-Sciences OR B. Tech. / B.E. or equivalent in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics / Computer Science & Engineering OR Bachelors Degree (10+2+3 years) in Science with Physics/ Chemistry/Mathematics/Geology & Geo-Physics/ Bio-Sciences with 02 years relevant experience, OR MCA with 01 year experience, OR Diploma in Engineering in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics / Computer Science & Engineering / Glass Blowing with three years relevant experience in reputed Engineering/Technical Institutions / Industry. Desirable: Experience in the laboratories of reputed Engineering/Technical Institutions of National Importance like IITs/IISERs/IISc./NITs and similar Central Govt. Institutions and working knowledge in computer application, electronic instruments, repairing and maintenance of sophisticated instruments 07. Junior Superintendent Essential Qualification & Experience: (i) Masters Degree in appropriate discipline with one year experience in academic administration like admission, examination, student affairs etc. or Establishment, Recruitment, Pension/Provident Fund, Staff Matter or Stores & Purchase etc. OR (ii) Bachelors Degree with at least 5 years of working experience in academic administration like admission, examination, Student Affairs etc. or Establishment, Recruitment, Pension/Provident Fund, Staff Matter or Stores & Purchase etc. Desirable: Experience in reputed Engineering / Technical Institutes of National Importance like IITs/IISER/IISc/NITs and similar Central Govt. Institutions and Knowledge in Computer application like word processor, spread sheet, presentation software etc.

09. Junior Hindi Translator Essential Qualification & Experience: Masters Degree of a recognized University or equivalent in Hindi with English as a subject at the degree level OR (ii) Masters degree of a recognized University or equivalent in English with Hindi as a subject at the degree level OR (ii) Bachelors Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes term compulsory and elective)

Desirable i) Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from English to Hindi and vice-versa. OR (ii) Two years experience in translation from English to Hindi and vice-versa in Central or State Government offices including Govt. organizations. ii) Knowledge of operating Hindi application software packages on computer. iii) Experience in translation of technical & scientific documents. 10. Physical Training Instructor-

Essential Qualification & Experience: Masters degree in Physical Education with one year relevant experience OR Bachelors degree in Physical Education with 5 years of relevant experience. Desirable: Experience in reputed Engineering / Technical Institutes of National Importance like IITs/IISER/IISc/NITs and similar Central Govt. Institutions and knowledge in Computer application.

Junior Architect (Temporary) Essential Qualification & Experience: Bachelors Degree in Architecture with at least 01 years field experience OR Diploma in Architecture with 03 years field experience. Experience should be in the field of updated AutoCAD, drawing in civil /electrical works. Desirable: Working experience in any Engineering /Technical Institutes like IITs/IISERs/IISc/NITs and similar Central Govt. institutions. 12. Junior Technician Essential Qualification & Experience: Diploma in Engineering in the field of Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Computer Science & Engineering. OR Senior / Higher Secondary with ITI in First Division or its equivalent and 5 years of relevant experience in Industry or in any reputed Engineering /Technical Institutes. Knowledge of Computer Applications. Wiremen License / Permit issued by Chief Electrical Inspector / Competent authority of respective State are essential for candidates with electrical specialization. Desirable: Experience and knowledge in computer application, electronic instruments, repairing & maintenance, handling of sophisticated instruments. (ii) Experience in any Engineering /Technical Institutes like IITs/IISERs/IISc/NITs and similar Central Govt. institutions.

13. Junior Laboratory Assistant:Essential Qualification & Experience: Bachelors Degree (10+2+3 years) in Science with Physics / Chemistry / Geology & Geophysics/Mathematics/ Bio Sciences of 03 years duration. Knowledge of computer applications. Desirable: Experience in the laboratories of any Engineering /Technical Institutes like IITs/IISERs/IISc/NITs and similar central Govt. institutions 14. Junior AssistantEssential Qualification & Experience: Bachelors Degree in any discipline (10+2+3 pattern) with computer key depression speed equivalent to 60 WPM, proficiency in Office applications like Word, Excel, Power Point etc. Desirable: Experience in office procedure like maintenance of files, noting, drafting, diary, despatch etc. and experience in any Engineering /Technical Institutes like IITs/IISERs/IISc/NITs and similar Central Govt. institutions. 15. Pharmacist Essential Qualification & Experience: (1) Bachelors Degree (2) Diploma or degree in Pharmacy granted by an institution of the Central / State Govt. or an institution recognized by the Central or State Govt. (3) Should be registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948. Desirable: Experience in any Engineering /Technical Institutes like IITs/IISERs/IISc/NITs and similar central Govt. institution. 16. Security Officer Essential Qualification & Experience: (1) Bachelor Degree from a Recognized University (2) 10 years experience in Police/Para-Military Forces/Armed Forces at the level of Sub-Inspector or JCO or equivalent with exemplary service (3) Holding a Valid Driving License to ride Jeep/Motor Cycle. Desirable: Completion of a course in Fire Fighting or Unarmed Combat Course in Army or ParaMilitary Force.

General Instructions / Information: 1. Completed Applications in the prescribed format along with attested copies of relevant certificates and mark-sheets and Bank Draft for Rs.200/- (except for those who are exempted from payment of fees) must the reach The Registrar (Attn: Recruitment Section) IIT Bhubaneswar, Samantapuri, Bhubaneswar -751 013 on or before 25-11-2011. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH & Woman category are exempt from payment of fees. 3. Bank Draft from any scheduled commercial bank for Rs.200/- shall be drawn in favour of the Registrar, IIT Bhubaneswar and made payable at Bhubaneswar. 4. The institute strives to have a work force which reflects gender balance and women candidates are encouraged to apply. 5. Knowledge of Computer Application is necessary for all posts. 6. Candidates desirous of applying for more than one post should send separate application for each post along with prescribed fee and attested copies of certificates and testimonials as required. 7. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the minimum essential qualifications laid down in the advertisement. 8. Candidates should send attested copies of certificates and mark-sheets from matriculation onwards in support of their qualifications. Originals should not be sent along with the application but these must be produced at the time of interview. 9. Candidates seeking reservation benefits available for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Service men, Sports person must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed by the Govt of India. They should also be in possession of the certificates in the prescribed format as given in the Annexure-I in support of their claim at the time of application. 10. Application fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances. 11. Application received after the last date, incomplete in any respect and any fresh paper / enclosures after closing date, shall not be considered. 12. Certificate in support of experience should be in proper format as per format given at Annexure-I. 13. Applicants who are in employment with Government, Semi-Government, Autonomous Bodies, Educational Institutions, PSUs etc. should route their applications through proper channel. However, an advance copy of the application (along with application fee) should reach the Institute on or before the last date. 14. The Institute reserves the right to: (a) conduct written/trade tests for such posts wherever the circumstances so warrant or may fix a criteria after taking into account the qualification and experience of the applicants without conducting any written test (b) not to fill any of the advertised positions (c) fill consequential vacancies including additional posts arising at the time of interview from available candidates by direct recruitment / deputation /contract. The number of positions is thus open to change. 15. Eligibility of a candidate with regard to qualification and experience shall be calculated /considered with reference to last date of the receipt for application. 16. The institute reserves the right to relax experience in exceptional cases for reasons to be recorded in writing, or in the case of persons already holding analogous positions in a Central Technical Institute / University / Research Institutions or in respect of persons holding analogous posts. Relaxation of minimum standards in educational qualification / experience for reserved categories will be as per the current norms prescribed by the MHRD / Govt. of India. A relaxation of 5% of marks from 55% to 50% at Masters level will be provided to SC/ST/PH candidates, wherever admissible, as per MHRD guidelines. 17. The Institute shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, then his/her services shall be terminated. 18. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the written test / interview. However, the SC/ST/PH candidates will be paid second/sleeper class railway/bus fare by shortest route, subsequently by cheque.

19. No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview. 20. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. 21. The post in Sl. No. 11 is temporary and will be in operation for a maximum period of two years. 22. The upper age limit for posts at Sl. No. 1 = 56 years Sl.No.2 = 50 years, Sl. No. 3 to 5 & 16=40 Years, at Sl. Nos. 6 to 11 = 35 years and Sl. No. 12 to 15 = 32 years as on closing date of receipt of the application. Age relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-servicemen, Central Govt employees and eligible women candidates as per Govt of India norms. Relaxation age is applicable in respect of meritorious sports persons in respect of posts at Sl. No. 12 to 15 only. Employees working under IIT system who are otherwise educationally qualified would be eligible for age relaxation upto 50 years of age as per MHRD norm. Upper age limit would not apply in respect of deputation of employees under the Central /State Government / Central Educational Institutes. Certificates in the prescribed proforma as given in Annexure-1 are required to be submitted for admissible relaxation. 23. No interim enquires / correspondence / communication of any sort will be entertained on the matter. However, candidates are advised to visit the Institutes websites www.iitbbs.ac.in or www.iitbbs.gov.in for any update in this regard. 24. Application incomplete in any respect and not accompanied by relevant certificate / documents / photograph / demand draft etc. including those received after last date will be summarily rejected.
