Third eye concept not merely esoteric Third eye; a mere mention sways our understanding towards mystic

realm. The mysticism associated relates to the paranormal ability developed by the development of the third eye. The term third eye is

obvious for its name since its physical location within our body exist right amidst the two normal eyes. The paranormal ability associated with the third eye relates with reading the future or looking upon facts that are not comprehensible to general abilities of ones understanding. But there is much more to this mystic esoteric ability to read much more than available to sensory organs including mind and intellect. The picture that you may sight above is known as Ardhnareeshwar here this one word is a composition of three different words namely; ardh that means half, naree that means a female and eeshwar that indicates the divine. To understand the sense drawn from the literal meaning of this term Ardhnareeshwar goes a deity who beholds the image of a feminist half and a male as another half. Two halves enjoined comprising the male and female respectively. Apparently the image that indicates towards a conception of a deity appears quite strange since we cannot assume a single entity two different genders within one single body. Taking the pragmatic fact of life totally averse to this graphical imageThen what does this image want to convey? This particular image according to Hindu mythology pertains to the Lord Shiva the male part and Mother Parvati his wife as the female part. Not going much deep into the ethos borne into the duo we shall confine our approach to the relevance of this image with the concept of third eye. As the understanding goes almost all forms of energy are a product wherein two different forces diffuse into each other and form a kind of energy and we broadly address these two different forces as the negative and the positive. Unless the two different kinds of forces meet the final outcome in form of energy cannot come to its form.

Similarly within our physical body there exists another sheath that we term as a subtler body known as the energy plane of our existence. The energy plane is known as pran shareer here the pran means energy and shareer means the body. This energy plane has its own circuit. According to this energy circuit the energy within our body is again a combination of two different forces namely ida & pingla you may address them for easy purposes as the positive and negative. As it is established in the scriptures of ancient wisdom the negative energy flows through the left flank of our body and the positive energy flows through the right flank of our body. These two meet and diffuse into each other and produce the requisite energy that meets all our energy related needs within our existence. Here in this image both the forces of negative and positive have been symbolically represented in the form of a female and male deity. The most remarkable part with this phenomenon is that the nodal point where these two forces meet is right amidst our eyebrows. It is therefore that this image of half male and half female is marked as the image for the third eye chakra. Chakra should be understood as centres for esoteric communion for different purposes. When the wise ones advise us to meditate between the two eyebrows they are in fact making us accomplish three assignments at one go namely; the concentration gradually becomes zero distraction the moment the point of concentration becomes between eye brows, secondly through an enhanced focus between the eye brows the energy centre becomes more active to produce higher levels of energy and thirdly with a focus upon this particular point i.e. between the two eye brows the pineal gland that exists around inch (approximately) behind the outer surface between our eyebrows is able to activate through a considerable amount of

practice It is the pineal gland itself that gradually after its development develops into a window of information about various facts devoid of any external sensory organ along with our mind and intellect. The purpose of this article is to enlighten readers about three facts pertaining to the concept of third eye; as have been mentioned in the above paragraph. Whereas the practice i.e. meditation upon this point is concerned; for that an adequate preparation is mandatory before one can truly embark upon the exact practice of concentration. The preparation in advance relates with two predominant factors namely; ones conduct with the world outside and ones conduct with the world within. The world outside are the people and subjects we address through our activities and the world within is the one where we dispense our thoughts, emotions, instincts and dietary routines etc. Unless the advance preparation is well addressed the euphoric jump on the exercise of concentration firstly does not prolong for a considerable periods and secondly the outcome of the meditational sessions is soon depleted or eaten away by the dissenting factors arising from our conduct within and without. Therefore aspirants must address these two ends before embarking upon the actual practice. The purpose of this article is to arouse interest in those who yearn to advance in the dimension of inner growth.
