Climb rate varies with different gliders, pilot weight, engine and weather conditions WEIGHT: 21Kg total.

Setting up your FILLO from shipping crate 1) Carefully remove the packing material and check all the supplied parts and accessories. Note that the power uni t is removed and packed up separately. Unzip the harness bag. Inside you will find the carbon back plate, propeller, fuel tank, 14,4v NiCad battery with charger, engine manual, spark plug, limit wires and plastic zip ties. 2) Place the carbon back plate in the internal pocket and pass the suspension rope (which regulates the angle of dangle) from the hole and make a knot(you will adjust the angle of flight later) 3) Unclip the harness legs from the side bars and pull them up to rear position. Control the legs to be sure that no lines are wrapped around them so that they extend fully and freely. Clip the two bungee cords into their slots at the side of the transmission axle left leg on left side and right on right side . Now pick the harness up and gently ro ll it over onto its legs 4) Assemble the main shaft with engine and exhaust to the 2 rubber mounts and then to the two rear harness tubes . 5) Attach the starter switch cables to the starter unit and the kill switch cables to the ignition coil , according the matching sticker number. All cables must be secured with zip ties , avoiding contact any part of the engine/belt . 6) Connect throttle and choke wires to the carburetor plate. Secure them passing the thin metal straps through the little holes and attach the wire ends in the bronze connectors. Connect the retaining spring to the choke lever. Make sure that throttle and choke levers travel freely all the way up and back with the rotation of the control sticks. In idle, the throttle lever must rest on carb idle set screw.

Page |4 7)Remove the red cap from the spark plug hole and screw the supplied spark plug with the supplied wrench. Connect the black cap over the spark and secure it with a zip tie 7)Install propeller brake and the battery pack with the pocket bel ow the tanks support strap. 8) Place the tank and fuel line on the carburetors inlet nipple , securing it with a zip tie. A quick valve is provided for easy connection of fuel line. 9) Use the velcro to close the engine/shaft cover 10) Hook the harness i n to a fixed hang point in to check and properly adjust your harness. Angle of flight is adjusted by the retaining rope which ties inside the back plate. Make two simple knots and tie them hard . 10) Take propeller out of its protective cover and remove the central locking pin. Check that the propeller is free of damage. Slide the propeller hub onto end of drive shaft. Insert pin and safety retaining clip.

Harness and Pre-flight Preparation Highly recommended and for obvious safety reasons, it is important initially to hang the harness from a tree, swing or whatever, and test all things you will have to do later in the air. - adjust the main hang strap so the harness has 8 -10 cm clearance between itself and the and control bar with pilot hooked in! - locate and note parachute container and emergency handle position - familiarize yourself completely with all en gine controls, throttle , starter switch, kill switch, choke, prop brake, etc. .- open / unzip harness leg section REMEMBER! You have to unclip the support legs first! Failing to do this will inhibit proper opening of zipper and you may land with gear up! - Propeller brake. Learn to apply and release this in flight. (always release before starting engine! ) -Your Fillo is shipped with a set of 2 limit lines and a retaining elastic cord which is attached to the karabiner. The limit lines extend from the harness frame to the side wires attachment point at the leading edge. Using the limit ropes is optional ,but they can protect your wing from t he propeller during rough landing or take off. Too long limit lines is better than too short , when too short will limit your possibility to control the glider

Page |5 Hangglider modifications The only modification necessary is that the keel must be shorten . The maximum allowed distance between hang strap and rear end of keel is 120cm. Many modern hang gliders have a removable keel and dont need any other modification. If you cut your keel ,a sleeve should be made to enable refitting Preparations for Starting Engine Fuel Mixture-Important ! Every two stroke engine needs oil to lubricate the cylinder, piston and all the various bearings and seals. Use only top quality 100% Synthetic two stroke engine oil (Castrol TTS) mixed at a 3% to 4 % oil to fuel ratio. Use minimum 95 - but better 98 octane unleaded fuel for best running and performance . During the first 10 hours use only 4% oil to fuel ratio( 40ml oil/1litre gas) .Never use outboard Marine or racing oils. Engine / Carburettor tuning . The Raket 120 engin e is equipped with a Walbro diaphragm type carburettor type VG6 with fixed high speed jet. The second jet is adjustable , it is a needle valve and controls the flow of fuel at low speed. The normal setting of this needle valve is in the one turn open from its absolute closed position. Before you make any attempts to start the engine make sure that the needle valve is in the one turn open position. Later you may open it a little farther to make your engine run a little richer or close it just slightly to make it run a little leaner. NOTE: Never set the low speed needle valve less than 3/4 turn open as leaner settings may cause severe engine problems. How to Stop the engine Always pay attention to where the kill switch is, so you can stop the engine in case of emergency. If for any reason the kill switch does not function properly you can stop the engine using the choke lever. Pulling this will starve the engine of air while flooding it with fuel which stops combustion

Engine Start Proceedure 1)Fill and place the fuel tank on the support bracket. Connect the fuel line. 2)Check that the kill switch is in OFF position: black dot pressed 3)Connect the battery pack

Page |6 4)Slide the propeller hub onto end of drive shaft. Insert pin and safety retaining clip. N ever operate the engine without the propeller 5) Check position of throttle and choke levers to be sure they are both in idle position. 6) Make sure the harness is braced firmly with sidebars on the ground and all persons including yourself are well clear of propeller 7) Close the choke completely (note that some engines need a little throttle too). 8) Now with choke in the closed position push the starter switch until you hear the engine catch, run a few seconds and stops 9) Open the choke. 10) Open the throttle to about 1/8 . Push again starter switch and start engine After about 30 in throttle, advance to full throttle for about 10 sec (If the engine does not catch or cools down some minutes you should repeat steps 5 to 7.) Hooking in After engine warm up and all pre-flight checks of your powered harness and hang glider unit , hook in as follows: 1)Disconnect keel extension from glider. 2)Re-check all leg lines and complete s uspension system making sure all things are in order with no lines wrapped arou nd the glider frame or harness itself. 3)Step into harness and connect leg strap 4) Close zip on front section and connect the two front safety clips 5) With hang glider tethered by the nose or with an assistant holding the nose of the glider enter unde r from the rear of the keel and hook and lock carabiner into main and secondary hang points. 6) Start engine and let it run for at least one minute. Brace yourself to compensate for the thrust and do some light to full accelerations of engine. 7) After engine is warmed up you can move into the start position on your chosen field.

Take off from flat ground Take off is surprisingly easy with the Fillo provided you follow simple rules. ABSOLUTELY - do not try to force premature lift off by pushing out. Like any

Page |7 aircraft, your hang glider needs sufficient airspeed to fly. Rule one with a powered harness is to collect necessary airspeed on the ground. A properly trimmed glider will only require the necessary roll corrections to maintain its course on the intended runway. PS: remember your wheels. 1.Once you are hooked in and in position point Glider into wind and bring engine revs to maximum 2.With glider pointed into the wind and wings perfectly level , begin your take off run maintaining Low Angle of Attack, bending forward through the control frame. In a few steps you should feel the glider begin to lift from your shoulder DO NOT PUSH OUT! Continue running with long steps (moon walking) with wings level until you feet can no longer touch the groun d. 3.As soon as possible get into prone position and pull the base bar in so you gain airspeed otherwise the glider will climb too steep and stall. 4.At a safe altitude (100m -200m ALZ) close the main zipper and clip the legs to the side. Bar Position / IMPORTANT ! Because of the extra weight at the rear of the harness, the resultant center of gravity is also further back than a normal free flying harness. This means that to maintain the same relative trim speed the position of the base tube is going to be further back. Remember again that with the higher wing loading your trim speed must also be higher. Landing We recommend that you do a normal aircraft landing approach (downwind leg ,base leg and final) which gives you the time and composure to exam ine your chosen field. At about 200m ALZ 1.Unclip the legs ,then unzip harness and check that legs are down, engage propeller brake and proceed to land as you would normally 2.When landing ,kill the engine at safe altitude 3. On normal approaches when you come in you can generally hear or feel the skids touching the ground just before it is time to flare .
