Team Size: 3 Project Description: The main idea of the project is to classify the fault which has occurred in the power system by using wavelet transforms and probabilistic neural networks. To classify faults a 3-phase two bus power system is considered with a generator, two circuit breakers, three ammeters for each phase, three voltmeters for each phase, fault breakers and a 3-phase parallel RLC load. These components are designed in the simulink. The wavelet transforms are used to extract the distinguishable characteristics of each fault created by fault breaker. Then these characteristics are given to the probabilistic neural network which is created by writing program in Matlab which help to classify the faults.
