The Subject of Origins CREATION VS MACRO-EVOLUTION

By Bernard Cox This humble attempt to encourage Christians, and maybe to educate some make-believers, on a subject, upon which many great studies and volumes have been written, cannot be comprehensive on such a small piece of paper; but let this suffice in the interest of seeking out that last soul who is destined to enter into the mystical body of the Bride of Jesus Christ in order for the scriptures to be fulfilled. (1 Thes. 4; 13 thru 5; 6). So, What is macroevolution? Essentially it is the theory that life, as we know it, began as a Big Bang which was incidental and without intelligent purpose or control, evolving from nothingness to intelligent life forms as we know it today, and continues to evolve. This theory embraces the belief that there is no God and therefore man is not made in Gods image as is claimed in the bible, but that man evolved from the ape species over millions of years.

This is such a deep and complex subject which raises hundreds of questions, which raise hundreds more, the answers to which, warrants intense study, research and thorough analysis. We cannot get into that here, suffice to say that there is great discussion, debate and data on the subject; downloadable from the internet. Let me suggest to you some worthy reading, thereby eliminating an enormous amount of time wasting. Do a google search for sites where the following books are downloadable......... [In the Beginning Compelling Evidence for Creation and the Flood], [Table of Nations and Genealogy of Mankind], [11 Ways to Refute Macro Evolution] and [Charles Darwin - The Origin of Species]. With all the mind boggling data which you will be accosted with put to one side for a moment, Id like you to relax while we focus on the simplicity of God. God never intended for man to meander aimlessly, unaware of his origins. Gods purpose was to create man, as a superior being, in His own image, and for one purpose; fellowship. God was not even God until He created subjects who would worship Him for that is what a God is. He is an object of worship. Some still worship idols in this day and age while some still worship the sun. Be that as it may, man has always known, deep in his subconscious, that there is a holy, ultimately superior creator who is God. God didnt create all the confusion related to this subject. Man has allowed himself to be beguiled by Satan. As a result of inspired scientific influence over

thousands of years man has drifted further and further away from God. Man is led by his free will and influenced by things that he can see and touch. Science works in that fashion. If the scientist cannot prove something by physical experimentation, he will not accept its validity. Gods children are simply asked, Do you believe, by faith? and they reply, Yes, Lord, but it must be according to thy Word. God has hidden Himself from the wise and the prudent by revealing Himself in simplicity. Isaiah 53; 1 & 2. He also said, in Isaiah 55; 8-11 that His thoughts and ways are not perceived by man and that by His spoken Word, His expressed thoughts, He will accomplish that which He pleases. For example; In Isaiah 7; 14 & Isaiah 9; 6 & 7 God spoke the following Words through His prophet. Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and... call his name Immanuel and For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Who was it who recognized the fulfilling of this prophecy when this child was born? He came

exactly as the prophet said He would come; yet, it was only the unlearned, simple shepherds and the fishermen who recognized Him. All the studious scientists and high priests of the great denominations of the day missed Him because they expected some great military leader to come and deliver them out of the hands of their oppressors. God, in the beginning was Elohim. The self existing one. There was this great, powerful Spirit, full of magnificent attributes totally alone. Dont even ask where He came from for that is a question that has reduced some of the greatest thinkers to crumble into insanity. Just look at the perfection of a blade of grass or a seed baring fruit and try to explain the intelligence that dwells therein. You cant! Science cant, yet they will doubt that there is a creator. Id like now to seriously belittle the intelligence of the wise, prudent intellectuals of this age. This isnt the first time that they have been challenged. They have been challenged since 1933 when a humble, young Kentucky hillbilly, who never even reached high school, invited the scientists of the world to prove him wrong on any of his theories. Never once did they accept his challenge. What was it about this man that made him so confident of his belief in his teachings? He knew who he was, where he came from, why he came and where he was going. The whole world stood dumb struck and in awe as he demonstrated the truth in word and deed. Never before had the world seen such demonstrations where the elements of nature responding in total obedience to the

spoken word. These demonstrations continued for 30 odd years. Where ever he went, God vindicated the truths which God spoke through him. What was happening? God was announcing the end of time to man. He was also warning man of the soon return of Jesus to fetch His Bride before the great and dreadful apocalypse. God was vindicating His Word, through His appointed prophet of the age, demonstrating the Spoken Word Power which He is preparing His Bride to inherit. William Marrion Branhams ministry was without question what inspired the worldwide evangelic revival of the 40s, 50s, and the 60s. While he remained the humblest of men and true to the Word of God, others were inspired to embark on great money making ministries the likes of which the world had never seen. The Bible teaches that the Word of God comes to His servants the prophets, so in that light, allow me to present to you some quotes from sermons which were vindicated as truth, by the presence of the Pillar of Fire, which Moses, Paul and John The Baptist saw, and seen by thousands on several occasions in this age and photographed on several occasions. All the information you require to validate the authenticity of this mans ministry is freely available on request and downloadable from the internet; Google search [William Branham]. Now the quotes. The Angel of the covenant was Jesus Christ; for the Bible said that Moses esteemed the riches of Christ greater than the treasures of Egypt. So he forsook Egypt,

leaving all to follow and serve Christ. Christ is the Logos, of course, the One that went out of God in the beginning, which was the Pillar of Fire. Would you like to hear what I think about how God become God? Let me get this straightened out for you. Let's take a little trip in a little space now, a mental vision, and go back a hundred million years before there was even a star in the sky. It was God. He's always been God. And then, we're standing here watching creation come into existence. There's not a star; there's not nothing. And then let's notice. Out yonder I see now all that space, that all is God, without form, forever, for eternities, no beginning, no ending. It's all God. Before there was even air there was God. The very beginning of nature of creation was God. And now, the Bible teaches us that the Logos went out of God, or I might say, the God becoming His first body form when the Logos went out of God. Let's look what It looked like. No one has seen the Father at any time, nowhere, never did and never will. But then the Logos that went out of Him become like a little halo of Light. Let's see it playing yonder, like a child before the doorstep of the father. And now, I can see Him as He moves over here, and He draws into His memory or His mind a picture of what the world should be. Now, there's not a star or nothing. I hear Him say, "Let there be." And an atom broke yonder. And when it did, the sun came into existence and begin to whirl. She

burned for millions and millions and millions of years. After while, I see a clinker fly off of it. [Brother Branham makes a noise--Ed.] What is it? The first star that flew from the sun. He watches it fall for a few million years and He stops it. Then another one flies off and He lets it fall a few million years and stops it. What's He doing? Writing His first Bible, the Zodiac. God's wrote three Bibles: one, the Zodiac, one in the pyramids, one on paper. Now, He's writing His first, the Zodiac. It starts off with a virgin, ends up with Leo the lion: Jesus' first coming and His second coming. If we had time to run down through it, you'd see it. But He writes that because He... Man is to look up. God is above. And then after He gets all of every... all the heavenly, the solar system written out, then I see Him move over here, and over a clinker was this world. It was nothing but a iceberg hanging out of it. He moves it over around the sun. And as he begins to revolve it around, He melts all the water, the ice on it. The icebergs come flying down through. Texas is formed, Louisiana and down through there, where it's scraped off, as chronologists tell us that the icebergs went on into the Gulf and so forth. Now, the world's without form and void, and water was upon the deep. We're in Genesis 1 now. See? Then He made all the plant life. Then after while, He made man in His own image. And if He made man in His own image, He had to make Him something on a order of that supernatural Being. That's right.

A few words on the virgin birth. A fellow said to me not long ago, he said, "Preacher, you know better than that, cause you know that was Joseph's son." I said, "That was God's Son." He said, "Listen, that's against all scientific order." Said, "It can't be." I said, "I don't care what science says. They say one thing this year, and take it back next year. Say something else. But God's Word stands forever. Now, you don't believe that God could have formed that baby?" I said, "I'm going to ask you something. Then if... Do you believe that He had a mother?" He said, "Yes." "You believe He had a mother? But He had to have a earthly father or He couldn't have been born?" Why, I said, "I want to ask you something. You just told me awhile ago, that man came from monkeys. Then I want to ask you something. Where did the first man came from? Let him be monkey or whatever he may be; he had to have a father and a mother. Where'd the first one come from?" That stopped him. According to his statement, He had to have both father and mother. Oh, my. Their argument is thinner than the broth made out of the shadow of a chicken that's starved to death. To me, oh, here's what I believe in: God's Bible.
