This project is to redesign a product that eliminate the imapct on the environment. The goal of my product is to interest, teach, encourage children (age 1-6) to do recycle sorting without any electronic device.

Children at this age are in the golden learning stage, they are easy to be taught & learn effectively during this period. They spend much time watching & observing Understand and obey simple rules Persistently ask Why? 1. Some of the small kids, they are hard to reach the

open-mouth of the trash bin while throwing garbage.

ground since sometimes the cleaner dont notice that it is full & has to be cleaned.

placed outside of the cleassroom, under the eaves, towards the playground.

The product in the beginning is the recycle bins at beach. However, preschool is the better place to t the target market (children 1 -6 years old). Hence, I changed the place from the beach to preschool.

The size of the bin is suppose to be the average reachable height of children from 1 ~6. However, there are still some smaller kids who cant reach it. By pressing the concave surface, the head will lean forward & allows the the smaller kids to reach more easily, which also encourage them to participate in recycling.

It will lean backwards when it is almost full. It is a visual and emotional interaction with the user, so everyone immediately knows that it is full. The cleaner can come to clean up right away; the teacher can inform children not to throw in anymore; and the children will nd it interesting . It is also for safety and sanitary concern.

The bins has interesting animal like form but not so literal, which leaves more imagination for kids about what it really is. For the smile open mouths; the bigger the smile is, the more recycle value it has.
