O Holy Apostle Philip, Intercede with the merciful God That he may grant our souls forgiveness of sins. Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory for Ever! Slava Isusu Christu! Slava i vo viki!

From the Fathers of the Church

St. Ambrose of Milan Now let us consider the mystery of the Trinity. We say, one God, but we confess the Father, and we confess the Son. For although it is written, You shall love the Lord thy God and serve him alone, (Dt 10: 20) the Son denied that he is alone, saying, I am not alone, for the Father is with me. (Jn 16: 23) Nor is he alone now, for the Father is present, because the Trinity can never be separated from Itself. Then heaven was opened, the Holy Spirit descended in bodily shape like a dove.

Placing faith and hope in this command of the Lord, the entire Byzantine Catholic Church in America will begin a Pilgrim Vocation Icon Program on Sun, Jan 8. Each week, the icon is given to a household in the parish. The family or individual accepting the icon for a week agrees to pray during that time for vocations to the presbyterate, diaconate, and consecrated life. Everyone in the parish is invited to have this icon in their home for a week of special prayer for vocations. You can sign up for specific weeks next Sunday. Parish retreat 2012.
