What prerequisites are needed for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) and Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) to install Winshuttle Central?

Prerequisites for 32 bit systems*: *The descriptions in this F.A.Q. assume the reader has intermediate to advanced administrative skills and/or is familiar with the terminology in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007, SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, and Windows Server 2003. Does Central make any changes to the SharePoint Database? If so, where/how? No. Winshuttle follows Microsoft recommended best practices that suggest not accessing or making any change to the SharePoint Database.

Does Central install into the GAC? If so, can it be installed to the BIN? Currently, Central is only installed into the GAC, not the BIN.

4.

Does Central attach to SQL? Customers can name Central custom database according to their requirements. All Central configuration data is stored in the custom database that includes Users, Roles and Policies etc.

5.

What set of permissions will Central need to execute queries to SQL? Central doesnt require all the users to have read, write and execute permissions in the Database

6.

How many SharePoint features are installed? 23 features.

7.

How can we scope SharePoint features? SharePoint features are scoped at the Site Collection, Site and Web application level.

8.

What components are installed (web parts, timer jobs, workflows, workflow actions)? Central installation includes web parts, timer jobs, and workflows.

9.

Is the configuration done at the farm or site collection level? Central Database connection string is configured on farm level.

10.

Is it a site template or a site definition? If it is a site template which site definition is it based on? Central installation uses Site Definition and Features. If there are restrictions on using site definition, you can use Central Non-Site definition installation (Features).

11.

Are any non-SharePoint or SQL services or components installed? No.

12.

Is the site template stored as a .STP or some other way? If other way, please explain. Central doesnt use any site templates. Central implements Site definition.

13.

Is there just one web part or one group of web parts? Custom web parts are used in Central specific to ROI charts.

14.

Are workflows designed in Visual Studio or SharePoint designer? If VS, why? Workflows are designed in Visual Studio because it has features SP Designer does not, like looping.

15.

Do the application pages communicate directly to SharePoint or SQL server? How the data is stored (e.g. lists)? Which pages communicate to SQL server directly? All Central Custom Pages directly communicate to SharePoint using object model. For Central specific data, interaction is within the Central custom database.

How many number of application pages? 53.

Where are the layout and applications pages installed? On SharePoint 2007 / WSS 3.0 12 hive/Layouts/Winshuttle.Central On SharePoint 2010 / SharePoint Foundation 14 hive/Layouts/Winshuttle.Central

Does the Central installation create a MIME type on IIS? NO

When is the job created when data posting is done? The job is created when data file is approved

22.

Can a user suspend/resume/cancel his job? No the user cannot suspend/resume/cancel a job. The feature is available only to administrator

23.

What is Timer Job Configuration? The Timer job configuration specifies the number of retries and duration between retries for a scheduled or pending job.

24.

What is Scheduler List? The Scheduler list specifies the list of jobs currently scheduled.

25.

What are the prerequisites to publish a Transaction/Query as Web Service? On the publish, wizard the user provides details for the web service to be published

If user selects Delegate, the SAP credentials of the user who is submitting data using the form will be used.

Figure 4: Delegate option If user selects system post, the application will prompt the user to provide the specific system post account. This list needs to be procured from the Central site for the SAP system the Transaction script is being published on.

If:

the user is not a system post designer, or, no system accounts exist for the SAP system chosen currently (List of users will come from System web service developer Role who have SAP credential on selected SAP system.) the user will not be given the option to choose system post

Same functionality will be applicable for query web services publish workflow.

What are the changes done in ROI charts? ROI chart based on TCode or Users V/S Time Saved or Cost Saving This is based on a given Time Period and SAP System. 28. How can I configure the number of scheduled jobs to be sent to Winshuttle Server? Under Application Configuration Settings in Central Administration The Queue Length limits the max number of concurrent requests that can be sent to Winshuttle Server. Recommended value for Queue Length is 5. 29. How can I configure the number of log records synced from Winshuttle Server and Central? Under Application Configuration Settings in Central Administration The Log Fetch Count limits the max number of records synced from Winshuttle Server to Central. The Hours and minute fields specify the time when the record syncing will begin Ideally the administrator should sync the records in the non-peak hours.

How can I configure the number of log records synced from Winshuttle Server and Central? Under Application Configuration Settings in Central Administration The Log Fetch Count limits the max number of records synced from Winshuttle Server to CENTRAL. The Hours and minute fields specify the time when the record syncing will begin. Ideally the administrator should sync the records in the non-peak hours.

What are the configuration parameters when a Data File will be moved to completed data library? There are numerous options available in Winshuttle Central Administration > Transaction Administration > Preferences

After selecting the web application, on upper ribbon panel Click Manage Features.

Now the timer job feature is activated successfully. In case, above behavior is not seen, please contact Winshuttle Support team for further analysis of the issue. 35. How can we use custom workflows? Winshuttle Central supports custom workflows (i.e. third-party workflow systems which can be integrated with SharePoint are now supported). In such a scenario, organizations can use their customized workflow(s) with Central. The current out of the box workflows available in Central are: Review and Post One Step: One person enters the data, and the reviewer reviews and then posts the data. The reviewer then becomes the person of record for entering the data. Review and Post Separately: The reviewer reviews the data, and then returns the data to the runner who then posts the data. No Data Review Process: No review required for the data file The built-in workflows are mostly related to the Data Review Process. In context with the Enterprise Deployment, the business users may have different requirements related to workflows Examples: Ability to have a Primary and Secondary Approver in the Data Review Process Having a Two Step Review Process for Transaction Script File Support for Reminders to assigned users If customized workflows are needed below are the steps to integrate with Central. Nintex is used in the following example: Removing Existing Central Workflow: Click Remove Central Workflows It will remove both Transaction/Data Review Workflow

Creating New Workflow Go to data file Document Library > Settings > Create workflow

The following example highlights a workflow with two level review process for a Transaction Script 2. The steps in the workflow are Get a List of Approvers You can use a SharePoint List to get the list of Approvers. Suppose there are 2 different Approvers Alicia Jack Request Approver The task will be created for the Approver (Alica) and it will be assigned to the user. Based on the Acceptance/Rejection of the task the workflow will move forward. In case the Alica rejects the task, the workflow will end, else the task will be assigned to the second Approver (Jack) in the list
