ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INFORMATION

January 15, 2012

FROM THE PASTOR
Over the next few weeks in Childrens Church, we will focus on becoming strong and courageous kids. Your children will learn that God gives them the courage and encouragement they need to remain obedient to him, even during tough times, worldly pressures, and persecution. If your child is not a part of the Childrens Ministry here, we invite them to join us on Sundays at 9:45 a.m. for Sunday School, 10:30 a.m. for Childrens Church & 6:00 p.m. for Creative Kids and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. for Kids church. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9 NIV) ___________ SOUP LABELS & MEDICINE BOTTLES The Ladies Ministry is collecting Campbell Soup labels for the Smoky Mountain Childrens Home. The Home collects these labels to purchase a van to use at the Home. The Iris B. Vest Widows Care Center uses empty medicine bottles to make crafts so bring in your empty medicine bottle, also. There will be containers for these items in the foyer. Thanks! _____________ SPECIAL THANKS I want to thank everyone for their concern, phone calls, visits, cards, food, flowers and especially the prayers for me and my family during the illness and passing of my husband, Walter Musick. We love and appreciate all of you! -----Gay Musick ______________ A Christian should be an alleluia from his head down to his feet. ---------St Augustine

Job's Reasons to Praise the Lord

When Job's life fell apart, and God was silent, Job still found reasons to praise God: He is good and loving (Job 10:12). He is all-powerful (Job 42:2; 37:5, 23). He notices every detail of my life (Job 23:10; 31:4). He is in control (Job 34:13). He has a plan for my life (Job 23:14). He will save me (Job 19:25).

Pastor Jonathons Word of the Week

Do Not Make Fun of Baldness 2 Kings 2:23-24 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. Get out of here, baldy! they said. Get out of here, baldy! He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.
