CAREER HISTORY 1999 - 2010. MindWave Inc.. CEO & Executive Creative Director. In 1999, Greg bought out his partner Bruce Nicoll from Nicoll Norman et al and i ncorporated the remnants of Greg Norman Communications and Nicoll Norman et al i nto a new generation ad agency; MindWave Inc.. (www.mindwave.co.za) Because of his strong health care background, Greg found himself back in the fie ld of specialised health care advertising and communications. Greg has run Mind Wave Inc. for 10 years and has turned it into a specialist marketing and adverti sing consultancy. Because of changes in health care legislation and the introduction of mandatory generic substitution, Greg has seen the core of his business reduced dramaticall y. Adapting to the changes, Greg has turned his talents to lecturing and running marketing and advertising training workshops to both the health care and the ge neral retail sector. Part of Greg's skills is managing one of the largest African vernacular radio ac counts in the country. Because Greg's children have grown up, he feels the time is right to seek employ ment abroad where his skills and abilities will be better utilised. Greg has the envious reputation of being the most creative person in the health care adverti sing industry in South Africa. 1994 - 1999. Executive Creative Director In 1994, Greg broke away from Paton Tupper to set up Nicoll Norman et al, a spec ialist healthcare company. Between 1994 and 2000, Nicoll Norman won several loca l and international creative awards, as well as the prestigious specialist adver tising agency of the year 1997 and 1998. During 1998, the newly acquired Lewis & Gace health care group was bought into FCB. After the incorporation, CEO Mike L ewis and Chairman Francis Gace conducted a worldwide creative audit of specialis t health care creative personnel. Lewis & Gace ranked Greg as one of 8 people in the world with his experience, skills and creative talent in the health care ad vertising and communication sector. Both Greg and Bruce Nicoll were offered posi tions within the FCB group in the USA, but Greg had children in school in South Africa and chose not to leave SA. 1991 -1994. Paton Tupper Johannesburg. In 1991, Greg merged his business into a large specialist promotions and packagi ng company who wanted to break into mainstream advertising. Greg was appointed g roup director of Paton Tupper Johannesburg and handled large banking accounts, i ncluding American Express, South African Breweries, otherwise known as SAB Mille r, as well as Gillette, Oral B, Braun and several other multinational companies. 1986 - 1991 Greg Norman Communications. CEO - Executive Creative Director In 1986, Greg went on his own and started Greg Norman Communications, a multidis cipline advertising and communications agency. He landed prestigious accounts li ke American Express Travel, Cathay Pacific Airlines, Bayer Animal Health, Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Boehringer Ingelheim, Hoechst Pharmaceuticals, Abbott laborator ies, Roussel Laboratories, Bristol Myers and a number of other pharmaceutical an d health care multinationals. 1983 -1986 Grey Medical & Arc Health care. CEO - Executive Creative Director In 1983, Greg was approached to head up Grey Medical for the local division of t he global Grey Group. Grey Medical became the one of the largest medical special ist advertising agencies in South Africa. Because of the reputation and success of Grey Medical, Grey Medical soon found itself having to deal with competitor b rands. In 1985, Greg was appointed CEO and Executive Creative Director of Arc He alth care, another global health care operation within the Grey group. 1981 - 1983 BBDO Health & Medical Communications. Creative Director In 1981 Greg was appointed Creative Director of BBDO Health and Medical Communic ations, a specialist health care company within the BBDO group of agencies. Greg Worked on major multinational brands like, Bristol Myers, Bayer, Abbott Laborat ories, Glaxo, Smith Klein, Ciba Geigy, Johnson & Johnson and many others. BBDO H ealth and Medical Communications grew from nothing to become the largest pharmac eutical and health advertising agency in the country. 1979 - 1980 McCann Erickson - Studio Head & Art Director In 1979 -1980. Greg joined the world's largest ad agency; McCann Ericksen In 197 9 Greg was made an art Director on the Coke account, Loreal & Lancome. Later tha t year he joined the largest advertising agency in the country, McCann Erickson as studio head, in charge of layout and presentation material, rendering of stor y boards for television, as well as print layouts for Coca-Cola, General Motors, Rank Xerox, Colgate, KFC, Yellow Pages, Loreal, Lancome, Gillette. In 1978 -1979. Greg joined the country's largest PR and publishing firm; Group Editors, as art director and publications designer and annual report art directo r. 1977 (Feb) -1978 (July) EDGARS GROUP - Retail clothing packaging, display, merc handising and display In 1977 Greg joined a large financial publishing company as designer/art directo r. Financial Mail was a leading monthly financial magazine aimed primarily at th e top financial echelon in South Africa. After a short stint with Financial Mail , Greg was transferred to work on three associated newspapers, The Rand Daily Ma il, The Sunday Express and The Sunday Times as designer/art director - advertisi ng. 1976 (July) -1977 (February) EDGARS GROUP - Retail clothing packaging, display, merchandising and display 1974 (July) - 1976 (June) Military service - Head of video training program depa rtment- also produced lifesize bronze statue for new military HQ. Greg was forced to serve compulsory military training for 24 months. During his time in the military, Greg was fortunate to be given a head position in an exper imental military organisation created to train commissioned and noncommissioned officers. In South Africa in 1976, television did not exist. However, within the military structure, the first CC video production operation of its kind in the

country was introduced into the South African Defence Force. Greg headed up a di vision, designing mechanical animation and chroma-key artwork for use in video t raining material. After serving his 24 months in the military, Greg returned the Edgars Group to b ecome a senior packaging and brand development manager, but was approached to jo in the country's largest media organisation. 1974 (Jan) -1974 (July) EDGARS GROUP - Retail clothing packaging, display, merc handising and display. Retail clothing chain with cross-demographic chains from middle to low income re tail brands. The company had its own clothing lines and brands, including the in troduction of linen and in-home merchandise. Greg Norman began his career in merchandising and displays, designing complex, l arge format silk-screen window designs for all national stores, according to sea sons and special retail periods like Christmas.
