(A). OUTPUT CALIBRATION MODE: Zero Output Calibration : To adjust Output = 4 mA make switch position as shown below : + represents dont care condition ( Any position is allowed here as per the input type selection )
SW1 SW2 SW3 SW4 SW5 SW6 SW7 SW8

Press Quick Cal key combination { that is press Increment & Decrement keys simultaneously } a couple of times. The output current should be 4mA. If it is not so, finely adjust it by Increment or Decrement keys whichever required.

Span Output Calibration :

To adjust Output = 20 mA make switch position as shown below :

SW1 + SW2 + SW3 + SW4 + SW5 1 SW6 1 SW7 0 SW8 1

Press Quick Cal key combination { that is press Increment & Decrement keys simultaneously } a couple of times. The output current should be 20 mA. If it is not so, finely adjust it by Increment or Decrement keys whichever required.

(B). AMBIENT TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION MODE: NOTE : Here the range of temperature is 0 0C to 50 0C & the range of current is 4mA to 20 mA. So 4 mA corresponds to 0 0C & 20 ma corresponds to 50 0C. So the output current for the respective ambient temperature is to be calculated from the following formula : {O/P current = { ( 20 4 )* Ambient temperature/( 50 0 ) + 4 } For example , for the ambient temperature = 25 0C, The output current for ambient temperature calibration is { (20 4)*25/50 + 4 } = {16* 25 / 50 } = 12 mA

Short input terminals 4, 5 & 6. Make switch positions as shown below :

SW1 0 SW2 1 SW3 1 SW4 0 SW5 0 SW6 1 SW7 1 SW8 0

Adjust the output equal to the calculated value using INC/ DEC keys.

(C). INPUT CALIBRATION MODE: (I)For S , R , T ,B , N , J , K , E Type of Thermocouples : Let us take an example of CRAL type of thermocouple:

Zero Input Calibration : Short the input terminals 4, 5 & 6. Make switch positions as shown below:
SW1 0 SW2 1 SW3 1 SW4 0 SW5 1 SW6 0 SW7 0 SW8 0

Press Quick Cal keys (that is Increment & Decrement keys pressed simultaneously ) a couple of times.

Span Input Calibration : Short the input terminals 4 & 5. Apply absolute millivolts input for the respective thermocouple as per the table given below ( e.g. 48.838 mV corresponding to 1200 for CRAL type ) at input terminals 5 & 6.

INPUT TYPE ABSOLUTE MILLIVOLTS PT 10 T/C (S TYPE) 16.777 PT 13 T/C (R TYPE) 18.849 CUCN (T TYPE) 14.862 B TYPE T/C 11.263 N TYPE T/C 43.846 FECN (J TYPE) 45.494 CRAL (K TYPE) 48.838 CRCN (E TYPE) 28.946 Table 3 Make switch positions as shown below:
SW1 0 SW2 1 SW3 1 SW4 0 SW5 1 SW6 0 SW7 0 SW8 1

Press Quick Cal keys (that is Increment & Decrement keys pressed simultaneously ) a couple of times.

Follow the same procedure for all the types of thermocouples. Except the switch positions for input type selection will differ accordingly. (C). RANGE CALIBRATION MODE: (I) For S , R , T ,B , N , J , K , E Type of Thermocouples : Let us take an example of CRAL type of thermocouple:

Zero Range Calibration: Short input terminals 4 & 5. Apply ambient compensated low range mill volt input for the respective thermocouple at input terminals 6 & 5. ( For example to calibrate CRAL from 0 to 1200 at 250C ambient temperature apply 1.02 mV which corresponds to 50 0C ). Make switch positions as shown below:
SW1 0 SW2 1 SW3 1 SW4 0 SW5 1 SW6 1 SW7 1 SW8 0

Press Quick Cal keys (that is Increment & Decrement keys pressed simultaneously ) a couple of times. The current output should be 4.66mA. If it is not so, adjust it finely using INC/ DEC keys

Span Range Calibration : Short the input terminals 4 & 5. Make switch positions as shown below:
SW1 0 SW2 1 SW3 1 SW4 0 SW5 1 SW6 1 SW7 1 SW8 1

Apply ambient compensated input corresponding to the maximum standard range at that particular ambient temperature for the respective thermocouple ( e.g. 47.838 mV corresponding to 1200 for CRAL type at 250C ambient temperature ) at input terminals 5 & 6. Press Quick Cal keys (that is Increment & Decrement keys pressed simultaneously ) a couple of times. The current output should be 20 mA. If it is not so, adjust it finely using INC/ DEC keys
