AQEEDAH OF AHLU-SSUNNAH-WAL-JAMAAH

Introduction
Sunan-ad-darimi ; Kitab as-siyaar : (in authority of Mu'aviyya bin abiSufyan[ra]) :#2406, Musnad Imam Ahmad #16329 , Mu'aviyyah said "we were with the Messenger, and He stood and said, the people of the two books are divided in their deen into 72 sects,all are in the hell fire execpt 1 ,'al-Jama'ah' and My Ummah will be divided into 73 sects all are in the Hell fire exept 1, 'al-Jama;ah, Their 'hawa', will take them the way the dog follows and their will be no except the hawa will enter it , By Allah O arabs , If you do not take what the prophet does, Other people better will do it," Tirmidhi; Kitabul iman #2564 upon the authority of Hussain ibn hurais, Abu Huraira related that the messenger (saw) said , the jews will be divided into 71/72, the christians will be divided into 71/72, my Ummah will be divided into 73 sects . . . <same as other>" #2565 Abdullah bin Amr :- My Ummah will face what bani israel faced,they will follow them step by step . until if any of them have relationship with their mother publicly. 1 from m Ummah will do the same. The people of baniIsrel will be divided into 72 sects and my ummah will be divided into 73, All are in the Hell except 1.." Sahabah asked "who are them", He(saw) replied :"the one who follows me and my companions are now,"

Sunnah is of 3 types
1) sayings (Qowliyyah) [Contents of Quran] Amr- to do Wajib Mabdooq-reccommended Nahl- not to do Haram Makrooh- disliked ikhbar - informative Ghaib-on unseen Qassas-al-anbiyyah- stories of anbiyyah Furoor-al-Aqa'm - The classes of Aqeedah 2) Actions (Fi'liyyah) Amma'- General (eg: salah..etc ) Khassa- Specific (eg: more than 4 wives) Jibaliyyah - Natural (the physical features of Prophets etc.) 3) Consent (Takririyyah)

sukoot- Silence (consent on some matters, His permission) Madeh- Praises (praises some deeds) Isharah - Smile (smiles in some needs)

We have to take both according to the understanding of the Sahabah Quran and sunnah together. Only 200 muslims made Hjra , After 124000 people came in . 18000 ulema in prison in saudi Arabia more students in prison than in universities in Egypt many deported many banned Ibraheem(as) was facing malak al mout at 200 yrs...

Foundations of Dawah

Dawah is in all these Jihad was ordained after 13yrs of prophet hood for Muhammad (saw)

Tawheed
ruboobiyyah , uloohiyyah & al-asma wal siffat Abdullah ibn Mas'ud(ra) said: Jibraeel(as) taught us Iman, islam , Ihsan are tawhidullah LailaahaillAllah everywhere in life... Ammar ibn Yaasir - taken by the mushrik- put Him in to a well and poured boiling oil onto HIm-after 11 days He rejected islam- But He was guilty consious for that. Said ibn Musa'ib - 50yrs Imam in Haram- 40 Hajj - He was asked about the Greatness of Rasoolullah "Rasoolullah eradicated the kufr from Arabian Peninsula and left Sahabah who conquered the east s and west s" within 70yrs, Tariq bin ziya conqured spain only because of Kalimah Abdullah bin Masu'ud- First Sahabi to recite Quran(ar-rahman) publicly in makkah,He was beaten Upon and He lose one eye. The next day He went again and said "My other eye is jealous" . 22:62 ,13:13

Definition of La-ilaha-illa-Allah
The Book of Faith (Kitab Al-Iman) Muslim :: Book 1 : Hadith 46 Muslim :: Book 1 : Hadith 47 49:19 "Seek Knowledge about la ilaaha illallah La ilaha illa Allah : la maghbooda bi haqqi il-Allah [there s no one worthy too be worshipped but Allah] "No ilah Except Allah" its not 'No God but God' 2:256 "Declare kufr in taghoot before belief in Allah" two pillars of tawheed (arqaal at-tawheed) 1) Al-Kufr bit-taghoot -Wal Imannu billahi Wahda (2:256) 2) Al-Urwatil Wutqa' - is la ilaha illallah -Abdullah bin Abbas - Nabi(saw) made dua for him to be master in Tafsir. La' of negation(nafiyyah) of nothing(nahiyyah) In kalimatul Tawheed its Negation Concept 1) Al-Takfhallie-qabla-tahallie ; Give up(shirk,kufr,....) before take up(islam, tawheed......) 2) Negation (kufr, shirk , bid'a , zulm.....) and affirmation [' an-nafi- wal isbaath'] Explanation of tawhid must be according to the revelation and understanding of the sahabah Zaid bin sabith(ra) said: Iman is tawheed Abu musa al-as ari(ra) : Tawheed increases and decreases Abdullah ibn mas ud(ra) : Jibreel taught us and rasoolullah(saw) that iman, islam and ihsan , all of them are tawheed-ul-Allah- azzawajjal Tawheed is the most important matter in islam 49:19 Ignorance in certain matters in deen is not an excuse to escape from takfeer. But some like wings of jibrael , the Prophet s(saw) night journey

Definition of Taghoot :
is Shaytaan Umar(ra) Imam Malik (rhmAllah)

Everything not Islam

Could be of many different types. Sahaba(ra) like ibn Abbas(ra) said kalimah is : la maghbooda* bi haqqi il-Allah [there s no one worthy too be worshipped but Allah] 1) Maghbood - tangible (ie , sun , stars , idols etc) 2) Mut ah obey (kaafir rulers etc..) 3) Matbu o ideas/intangible (ie , desires ,democracy , freedom, secularism, etc . . .) 33:1 never obey Kaafir or the munafiq

anything outside of the deen is kufr everything which is not obedience to Allah is kufr tree of islam- roots are the tawheed and the branches are the good deeds tree of kufr 22.62 , 13:14 Every child is born on fitra, mother or father makes him a fire worshipper or any other 33:1 Fear Allah never obey kaafir or munafiq roots are the shirk and the branches are everything that is kufr

4:59 : ulil amr ;ibn Abbas(ra) said it is the ulama , umara(leaders) People follow the others because of the instinct of imitation asked to be different from the jews. that is why the prophet(saw) always

Rejection of Taghoot :
Not just telling with your heart and tongue. But by Action 5 things to remember to reject Taghoot

1) Shahadah to declare it(taghoot) is falsehood(baatil) Irjab- to separate inner from outer Murjiah is the one who acts irjah They believe action of heart and limbs are separate (like disowning voting by heart but participating in election) 22:62

Iman : is what is manifested in the heart and testified by tongue and to act upon the limbs

One who worships Allah only by loving Him is Zindeeq(heritic) - Imam Shafi ee One who worships Allah only by rijab is Murjiah (He said Iman is only in heart. No part for tongue or action) One who worships Allah only with Khawf(fear) are Khawarijj Khawarijj: are no the mujahideen. Those who are on the basis of Sin(not on kufr al Akbar or shirk) calls someone kaafir. They killed the sahabah . They believe Iman increases by the good deeds and is erased by the bad deeds.

Quwais atamimi : the first khawarijj- tells Prophet(saw) to fear Allah while distributing the booty

For 1000yrs after Adam(as) there was no shirk . The first to commit shirk was people of Nuh(as) . Manat ,... where people who lived among, they took them as auwliya after their death. They become Mushrik without knowing A jaahil can become a mushrik 2) ibnAbbas

Ijtinaab Keep away


a. Bil Qalb - With your heart Heart is where the people think-ulema Actions are initiated in heart Taqwa is in the heart(prophet [saw] ) Bad deeds will bring dar spots in heart Commanding good and forbidding evil is something which make heart good Place of ikhlaas(sincerity) Place of belief Place of love and hatred Murji seperate heart from action b. Bil Lisan Tongue (to declare taghoot in face) Tongue is the khalifah of heart Always rejecting the taghoot can make the heart strong Sahabah never had much of quran or sayings of Prophet in Makkah still they were strong-because of their rejection of taghoot Abdullah ibn mas ud(ra) was the man who publicly recite Quran in Makkah.

c. Bil Jawaarih

Classification of Taghoot (acc. Muhamad ibn AbdulWahhab in kitab-ul-tawheed)


1) Shaytaan 2) Al-hakim-bi-ghairi-anzalallah  Those rulers enjoining laws other than Allah s 3) Qari  Those judges, judging besides Allah s Laws 4) Muda l-ul-ghaib  One claimimg to know the unseen, or the one who claims to have attributes of Allah  like the barelwi s claimimg, that saints and Prophets etc... have knowledge of the unseen  Commiting shirk to any names and attributes of Allah is SHIRK. Like tawheed-ulhakimiyyah.  Just believing in the tawheed and acting upon shirk is murjiah and that is not tawheed..

Balance of takfir a. Nawahil al iman (negation of iman) y Shirk y Kufr y Nifaq ul kabeer . . . b. Nawahil al takfir (prevention of takfir) y y Mistake y Interpretation (ta awil) Only good for those which are not known by necessity

Jahal (ignorant) Only good for those which are not known by necessity We cannot be ignorant regarding Allah having son, that person is kaafir . Those Allah called kaafir, are kaafir

Actions that Take out of deen Istibdal : replacing the law - Can be done in heart like changing the law of cutting hand of theif with heart, tongue, and action (noun : mustabdil) Istihlal : making haram into halal either with heart, tongue and action (noun : mustahl)

eg: man married wife of his father , prophet(saw) ordered to kill him and take his money .

5) Al-Maghbood

Tawheed
Definition of Tawheed : Al- Ifraad Al-Uboodiyyah Lillah To worship Allah Exclusively

Tawheed al ruboobiyyah - Essence of Allah (dhaat) Tawheed al uloohiyyah Tawheed al asma-wa-siffat [(names and attributes) is part of ruboobiyyah]

At time of Sahabah , y y Tawheed al ilm (ruboobiyyah + asma wa siffat) Tawheed al aml (ulooohiyyah)

The tawheed asma wassiffat is the most important one and the other two may be derived from this tawheed Tawheed Ruboobiyyah Is to understand the essence of Allah(swt) . ie , He is the creator, life giver , sustainer, etc........... Tawheed Uloohiyyah Is with our actions (salah, zakat, siyam, ....) Tawheed asma-was-sifat To understand the names and attributes of Allah . If kufr or shirk is done in anyone of them, then it is KUFR/SHIRK. Actions and the belief cannot be separated. Its the Murji ah that does that. There must be unification between heart and actions, it should not be separated.

Meezan of Asma wal sifaat (balance of AWS) purifying from any defect 112:4 , 42:11, there is nothing like unto him , 16:74- do not make similes to Allah

The hand used in Quran is interpreted by some as authority . Must consider

  

text itself, meaning of that , form or shape while interpreting.

There are 5 principles for al-iman-al-asma-wa-sifaat y Asma-ul-Allahi-Husna wa sifaathihi ulya-kaamilah: To believe every names and attributes of Allah is perfect and has the highest perfection. All are as high as each other. [16:60 , 7:108] Without: changing the meaning, interpreting, example, nullifying, not to make similar to creation, to say how, pending. y Asma-ul-Allahi-wa-sifathihhi-tawqifiyyah: The names and attributes of Allah are tawqifi [we stop at the text without any interpretation.] [7:33, 17,36] Six principles in deen have no interpretation/shouldn t be interpreted. a. Ibadah (don t discuss on the rakah of salah, hajj, etc)

b. Hudood (penal code) c. Thaqilaat (measurement ) Travelling distance, zakah (20dinars , 1dinar =4.5gm gold) d. (Clothes) What to wear is clearly described e. (food & drinks) What to eat and drink is described f. y Al-Asma-wal-Siffaat

it is not allowed to confirm Allah s names and attributes with example nor to nullify them [16:74, 42:11]

The meanings of the names and attributes of Allah are known , but the how about are not known except by Allah It is not necessary that if there are two uniform names between Allah and man that they look like each other even though they have the same meaning [16:74]

Few points to remember


       Those who make the interpretation to commands of Allah without any reasons are cursed.[2:58,59 , 7:161] Allah is the one informed about everything. He informs us about everything [25:59 ,35:14] All of the names and attributes of Allah is tawqifi [we cannot explain or interpret them] We cannot call Allah by any name, He never used Those interpret the names of Allah, better withdraw company with them. [ 7:180] If there is any similar description between Allah and man, then the one with Allah has the best perfection. [8:302, taariq:15,2:14-15] If there is any term, which is absolutely bad, those cannot be attributed to Allah [eg.betrayal, etc...] [8:71]
