ISSUE 10 February 2012 Happy Friday Morning! Weekend of 24-26 Feb is the BeMyApp mobile app hackathon. This event is something between a Startup Weekend and a traditional hack weekend: if you have an idea for an app, come and pitch it on Friday night; form a team around it and build a prototype. So, if you're a developer, marketer, designer or app idea generator, join us! The winners of the hackathon get some outstanding prizes and they'll also be entered into another vote between 5 other cities who are running BeMyApp over the same weekend: Berlin, Paris, London, San Francisco and Dallas. Join in and let's show everyone what New York can do in 48hrs! We have 50+ people now registered via various channels and some great sponsors on board including Cloudbees and Mashery who will be there to give access to their developer tools over the weekend and will be on hand to mentor teams. Joseph Olson has reached out to us with a special invite for all NYSA members interested in attending NYC Cloud Intelligence Conference 2012. This is a one-day conference targeting IT decisions makers and educating attendees about Microsoft Cloud offerings and strategies. Microsoft NY District GM - Laura Wallace - is one of the keynote speakers. The conference fee is $399 per person. Joe has donated 3 seats to the group (Promo Code - Tech3) and provided a $100 discount code (Tech100) for all members. Find out more about the conference here .

If you have questions about the Mobile App Hackathon or the Cloud Intelligence Conference, do reach out to me or a fellow co-organizer. I'll personally be attending both events, so let me know if you'll be there and we'll make sure to chat! Cheers, Luisa Luisa@techmeetups.com New York Silicon Alley @techmeetupsNYSA
