2012 Athena Scholarship Application

The South Bay Alumnae Panhellenic is delighted to announce scholarship opportunities of $500
or more to undergraduate women who are members of National Panhellenic Conference
sororities. The South Bay Alumnae Panhellenic represents up to 26 National Panhellenic
Conference sororities in the Santa Clara Valley. We have been awarding scholarships for over
30 years. The Athena Scholarship is designed to honor undergraduate sorority women who can
balance the responsibilities of sorority membership, support their community, and achieve
academic success.
To be eligible for this award, you must be an active member of any National Panhellenic
Conference sorority and a full time student at San Jose State University or Santa Clara
University. Scholarship applicants must attend their university full time in the fall of 2012.
Completed applications must be received by Friday, March 2, 2012. Scholarship recipients
should be prepared to attend the Athena Luncheon on Saturday, May 5, 2012 to be recognized
as 2012 Athena Scholarship recipient.
South Bay Alumnae Panhellenic encourages all eligible students to submit applications,
following the application instructions below. Those applications submitted without a report card
or transcripts, and letters of recommendation, before the deadline will be disqualified.
1. The scholarship application form is in an editable format. Enter the requested information
directly into the form and save your changes as a PDF file. You may also print the form
and fill in your information manually in the spaces provided. Please write or print neatly.
2. Submit a copy of your most recent transcript. An unofficial transcript is acceptable.
3. Include two letters of recommendations: one letter from a sorority Alumnae Advisory
Committee (AAC) member, and one letter from faculty / professor / administrator /
professional / employer.
4. Be prepared for a short telephone interview (some applicants will be called).
5. Please type the application or print clearly.
6. A number of appropriate spaces are provided for your explanation in each section of this
application. Please include an additional page should you wish to include further details.
7. Completed applications should be emailed to Jacqueline Vo at

8. If you prefer, you may submit an application by U.S. Mail and it must be post marked by
Friday, March 2, 2012. All paper applications should be submitted to:
