Provincial Winners Per Province.

1. Byeletts High School/ Eastern Cape :

Its a farm school from Mooi Plaas in Eastern Cape, and it is doing very well in entrepreneurship. It was introduced to Entrepreneurship Education by EWET. Their business idea is a Library and Internet Access .It was started after the YES Members have identified a gap of shortage of books and facilities for the internet at school. They involve all stakeholders and the whole school is assisting in other activities. All learners are benefiting from the business activities. Its a huge achievement for a farm school.

2. Mafube Intermediate School/Free State

The school is from a semi rural area of Phuthaditjhaba in QwaQwa. Since the YES programme started in their school, they have managed to start a business from nothing, by applying the skills that they have acquired from the Program. They are selling fruits, snacks and lunch packages. The parents are assisting to sell during breaks. They are doing the business professionally and involving all stakeholders and also have a plan of expanding the business in future.

3. Beverly Hills High School/ Gauteng

The school is from Beverley Hills in Evaton West Gauteng. It was introduced to entrepreneurship program 1991 and it is still persuading entrepreneurship activities in its curriculum.They engage learners in a lot of entrepreneurship activities like coffee shop, car wash, vegetable garden, feeding scheme and collecting old clothes for charity. They equip their learners with entrepreneurial skills through YES Program.

4. Sakhelwe High School/Kwazulu Natal

The school is from a semi rural area of Ezakheni in Ladismith.The educators were introduced to entrepreneurship education by EWET. Learners are having different kinds of income generating activities and outreach programmes that are even supported by the local community. They do vegetable garden, cake sale etc.The whole school is supportive in these activities.

5. Mudimeli Secondary/Limpopo: The school is from a rural area in Mudimeli village in Limpopo. Learners were introduced to entrepreneurship programs from 2010 by EWET.Many projects were initiated to equip learners with business skills. They are involved in many income generating projects like vegetable garden,sewing and welding. They have also involve parents and local community to assist in skills transfer in running the business.

6. Piet Retief Combined School/Mpumalanga

The school is from Piet Retief in Mpumalanga. Their main Business Idea is to teach learners Cultural Activities and generate profits out them. Educators in giving learners the chance to acquire entrepreneurship skills through YES Programme. They are also engaged in different type of activities where learners are generating income and the local community is also involved.

7. Emangmmogo Comprehensive School/ Northern Cape

The school is from Galeshewe in Kimberly. The learners are being exposed to different kinds of businesses like Art and Crafts, Cake Sales and Handmade gift cards. Their main clients are teachers and learners from their school and neighboring schools. When there are events at school, they apply for that tender to manage them. They are also involved in the Youth Enterprise Society.

8. Huhudi High/ North West

The school is from the previously disadvantaged community, a very rural area of Ganyesa in North West. Their main Business Idea is Advertising and others are vegetable garden, tuck shop and outreach progamme. They are generating profits to assist disadvantaged learners. The educators are giving learners an opportunity to learn while generating income. They are doing different types of activities that are generating income.

9. Goodwood College/ Western Cape

The school is situated in Ruyterwacht, Goodwood.An area that despite its many challenges such as poverty and social deprivation still takes pride and supports values and programmes that will contribute to the education, excellence of its children. For 2011 they have selected 3 business ideas i.e. a beauty contest, a talent show and a tuck shop that will generate start up for their business idea. They are applying skills from the YES Programme i.e. the Small Business Management, Marketing and Communication.
