Teaching Philosophy I am fortunate to have years of continuous teaching and research experience at a very young stage of my life. This has empowered me to have my own teaching philosophy which I find a perfect match with my Philosophy of life Learn to Earn, Earn to Live and Live to Serve. My teaching philosophy goes around my students. The students have helped me to nurture, upgrade and develop my own set of skills. As a Guru (teacher), I love my students and that makes them very important and special for me. I take additional care of them whether inside or outside the class premises as much practically possible. I firmly believe that it is my soul responsibility to make students understand and experience the subject. As the course proceeds I make them aware about their roles, responsibilities and how differently they can utilize the concepts, principles and theories in real life. I also encourage, motivate, guide and help them to learn beyond the syllabus. I emphasize on interacting with students to understand their needs and conduct my classes with a personable approach. I prefer to maintain eye-to-eye contact, which I perceive as a very strong method of communication. I give adequate freedom to students for expressing themselves as I believe in openness, honesty and ability to maintain trust are highly conducive for effective learning. I am open for any kind of constructive discussion at any point of time with my students. I never get irritated for such kind of interruptions. The

students feedback helps me to organize my sequence of lectures and essentially to plan the content of my lecture as students come with diverse back grounds. My classes are well organized. I develop my course material well in advance which includes detailed breakup of the expected learning objectives, session plan and course outline for the semester. Before starting a class, I prefer to list out the objectives of that particular class. As a teacher to the Management students at the Master Degree Level, I can never be satisfied by merely following the traditional lecture method of teaching or merely distributing the study materials. I use both the Board and Power Point Slides in the class. I use a very broad mix of teaching techniques to make the course interesting. It broadly includes class room lectures, case discussions, individual/group field projects, assignments, classroom discussions, presentations and role plays etc. I site familiar examples, emphasize more on Indian cases discussions and few well known global cases. In addition, I also expose students to the latest trends in business by inviting speakers from academia and industry for direct and open discussion with the students. I firmly believe in continuous monitoring and evaluation thus I take quizzes (declared/surprise) and tests very often. I set moderately difficult level of question paper to test the understanding; as I try to bring out how much a student know. I evaluate the answers based on some basic parameters which include the possible practical implications, diverse thinking and clarity of thought. Finally, as a responsible and committed teacher, I am aware of my duties, obligations and responsibilities to uphold the reputation of the University I am working for. As a teacher, I preach my students to imbibe the management principles as a way of life and try to impart sense of responsibility towards the society and our nation. Professional Associations Apart from teaching as a profession, I have accomplished several other responsibilities during my working career.
