What is Application Transformation to Cloud Assessment?

The Application Transformation to Cloud Assessment is a consultative service, directed at evaluating an applications fit to a cloud environment. The solution provides assessment for up to 50 applications; incremental application volumes can be assessed with a custom solution. The services consist of the following functions: Initiation phaseThe Initiation phase of the services will comprise an Application Transformation to Cloud Workshop where HP consultants will review with your application subject-matter experts the HP Cloud Suitability Questionnaire for completeness. Analysis phaseDuring the Analysis phase, HP consultants will evaluate each application for its suitability to cloud in accordance with the Business and Technical Alignment model as shown in Figure 1. Reporting phaseFinally, during the Reporting phase, HP consultants will conduct a meeting with the customer to review the analysis of each application.

When organizations talk about leveraging cloud services, one of the main benefits they talk about is lowering costs. But cloud services are not just about cost that is way too simplistic. What they should be thinking about is how cloud services might save time, provide a competitive advantage, might enable organizations to be more responsive, and yes, take advantage of the cost savings. As shown, there are a number of business and technical alignment aspects that are analyzed and evaluated as part of the service. Based upon the findings shown in Figure 1, the HP team will provide a set of recommendations.
