In sector 0 of a BTS, the calling and called subscribers cannot hear each other. In other sectors, the call is normal.
Alarm Information: Cause Analysis:
None.
None.
Handling Process:
Trace the signaling messages in the call. You can find out that after the MSC sends the Assignment Request message to the BSC, the BSC returns the Assignment Failure message to the MSC promptly (in three milliseconds). The failure cause is no radio resource available.
The check shows that the script configuration on the BSC and BTS, CE License configuration, and TRX state are normal, but the Abis interface does not send the Abis-BTS Setup request. Run the DSP CARRIERISOLATION command to query the sector isolation. You can find out that sector 0 is isolated: %%DSP CARRIERISOLATION: OPT=NO;%% RETCODE = 0 Execution succeeded Query result: -------Subrack ID Slot ID Subsystem ID Cell ID Sector ID TRX ID 2 10 3 533 0 0
Run the SET CARRIERISOLATION command to de-isolate the sector. The problem is solved.
Note that after the sector is isolated, no alarm information is displayed. The execution result of the DSP RES command shows that the TRX state is normal. (The management state is Unlocked and the operation state is Enabled.) The MS can receive signals in the sector.
Suggestions and Summary:
After a sector is isolated, the fault alarm or event alarm is reported. Because after the sector is isolated, the onsite operation personnel often forget to de-isolate the sector.
